How can you say that with the LA (apparently soon to be Anaheim) Clippers still around? :)

sad to say but clippers FANS did have hope, after they got andre miller with a good young core group of players(brand, maggette, q) they should have been a lot better, then again they do play in the west. but if you are talking about the best team not to win in a loooong time how about the kings?

I would think that the destruction of the Clippers with the Walton deal would be enough to call them the most cursed franchise in the NBA.

Hollinger's point in the article, though, is that teams that do consistently bad don't really count as cursed. Boston was long considered the most cursed team in Major League Baseball, despite having out-performed many other teams in recent years. What makes a curse isn't just poor performance...it's poor performances periodically broken by great opportunities that are completely blown...it's having a team that can and should win it, but then something goes so inexplicable wrong that sports fans, many of them a superstitious lot, then attribute that to a "curse." So I'd have to agree with Hollinger on his point (as far as the Clippers not being "cursed" goes).

I thought the Portland Blazers were cursed and went to a Gypsy as she gave them the magical pipe to reverse it... It just ended up making matters worse for the Portland franchise

Wow, maybe Hollinger's article reversed the curse, as the Suns can go 5-0 to start a season for the first time since 1984 with a win against Cleveland tonight.

Instead, they get one of those games that leads people into believing curses.

WHOOO! I actually turned the game off at the end of the third quarter to see the end of the Louisville blowout on ESPN2. When I woke up, the Cavs replay was on and they just started OT. Made me question if I was actually awake. Then to watch the end where the Cavs just poured it on and then hung on - well, that was just priceless!

Glad to see the Cavs show such heart and determination. Also glad they get 2 days off to recover from that game!
