I guess I'm the only one who doesn't mind it. I'm stoked about the DS. Also, if this makes Chris and the gang any money, good. As much as our informative and well-thought out posts might be rewards in themselves, I'm sure a few bucks would make them a little bit happier.
Also noteworthy is the fact that the D..er..the letters also show up in the dial up mode, too. I don't know what colour the letters are in the full graphics mode, though.
Oh, yeah...the letters don't show up during the message entry screen, where every post below the input box.
EDIT: No chance in copying text direct from these pages with the letters as they are, either.
Well if it's *really* sidtracting to someone you always have the choice. Firefox (and other Mozilla variants) allow you to block images from a site. You'll lose any images that are hosted by "the-W" (as that is where the image is coming from) for the time being and you'll have to guess at word-s but...
Or we can all start putting the s before the d.
Edit: Interesting... It missed under-shorts in my sig, but then didn't miss it here... I'm pretty sure that it was at one time modifying signatures too.

Just thought I'd point out that if you look at this site on a BlackBerry pager, it crams all instances of "DS" over to the left-hand side of the screen.
Why was I accessing this site from a BlackBerry? I... I... have too much time on my hands.
And I just wanted to add... if this is making you guys any ad revenue, then we should all be supportive and deal with the minor annoyances. It could be FAR worse (tons of pop-up's, membership fees, no site at all, et cetera).
Since clicking on them doe snot seem to take you anywhere, and the image source is local (which would be odd if it were a paid thing from Nintendo as they I would think they'd be wanting to control the content di-splayed), I don't see how this could be a paid revenue opportunity, but that's just me.
That and the fact that it appears to have changed since it's inception (not affecting signatures anymore)
It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milkbone undershorts.
After seeing it on wwe.com, and reading the general reaction to it around the Web, I decided I wanted to see if I could code something similar here JUST so I could watch The Usual Suspects WHINE about it and completely miss why I would have done such a thing. In this regard, I consider this project a huge success.
For the questionably curious, part of my code was a check to make sure that bots saw unchanged text if they happened by while this was happening. I intended to just do this for 24 hours - I flirted with going longer after reading a few complaints, but am sticking to it and it's gone now.
Of course, if Nintendo is actually dumb enough to pay me, I'd be happy to put the code back in.
