If anyone has an original set of disks for Civilazation (the original, not II or III - I have these still, just can't find the first one) or Syndicate, I'd like to buy them off of you. Please PM me with details.

I'm not looking to pirate them. I just want to buy a copy of these old, out of print games.

Civilizations is abandonware and can be downloaded here. As far as Syndicate I see some sites say it is abandonware and some say it is not. Knowing how you feel about copyright infringement I would say you are going to have to buy it in order to be sure you are in the clear on that one.

See, I don't think that it is actually abandonware. I'd like to buy a copy from someone if possible. I don't think that copyright actually expires just because someone isn't distributing the file. I know that morally it would be a different thing than copying a file that is available, but I don't think that it makes it legal.

I've seen both at Walmart for $10 in jewel cases, you might try there. That's pretty cheep.

It's how I got Black & White.

Ditto. I was just about to type the same thing. My WalMart, too (at least as of last week), so it's probably at one near you.

EDIT: You also might want to check out GameStops or EBGames (the non-mall locations), as most of them have very large quantities of very old games.

I have the original Box with the disks ... somewhere. I think I lent it to my cousin. I will have to ask him about it....

Double check the next time you are at Wal*Mart. I'll check here as well. I looked at Target last night and only saw the Civ III pack.

Wal*Mart and EBGames are not listing either one on their web site.

I'm Renegade Raine and I approve this message:

Well...crap. I have Syndicate, however it's for the Mac, and I'm pretty sure that it must be broken by now...

Good luck on finding it though.

Sweet. I'll PM you.

I had no idea this came on CD, I've only ever seen it on disk. Do you have the manual still? You need it for the copy protection from what I recall.

I have it on CD, and the original box and manual, the whole kit. I remember packing it when I moved a year ago. I was like...Holy crap...I still have this...

I knew it would come in handy one day.

I used to play it on my Packard Bell machine....haha

If you use a hardware router, I'd just turn off the Vista firewall. Don't need both, and the hardware one is much better anyway.
