Quite a different show in a different atmosphere.

Anyone else find the majority of the camera shots to be grainy, or was it just my TV?

If Gene Snitzky was indeed in CT, wouldnt there be a slight delay in the conversation with JR?

Thumbs up for me

Edit: I could have sworn I noticed a fan in a white shirt jump the rail during the main event. The announcers didn't say anything about it and the fans were chanting that hey hey goodbye song afterwords.

Anyone care to clairify?

Inherent Logical Flaw With Taboo Tuesday:

The World Title match WILL be the main event. JR kept saying "All 3 men will go to the ring, and the opponent will be announced THEN..."

BUT, he also said that the guys who DON'T get the title shot will face La Resistance for the Tag Titles earlier in the show. So...wouldn't that contradict JR's statement?

Middling RAW, but it was nice to have a hot crowd.

Picture did seem off when they cut to ringside cameras.
Dear God, they are going to rig the vote to give Edge a World Title match. The only way they can give him a PPV main event is if people think he won't be the main event, and they are already stuck with him in the match since they have to purchase the PPV before finding out he is the World Title challenger. Outside of traditional Canadian Bizarro reactions, I've never seen a face get boo'ed as much as Edge.
Cena injured at a nightclub? I wonder if he'll consult Shawn Michaels on how to turn the number of people needed to assault him into 7 figures.
Mythical negative 6 star territory could be reached at the PPV in the DivaCrapFest match.

Sure seemed to me like they are pushing the Orton/Flair match as being bigger than the World Title Match.

I don't think I've ever seen William Regal as excited as he was tonight. That alone made the show worth watching. Shame about the titles not actually changing hands.

Why is Jonathan Coachman included in the people who can get an IC title shot?

RAW Thoughts:

I thought it was obvious the picture was grainy due to the overseas transfer....Call me crazy, but in the post-match attack on Stacy, I expected Test to show up wearing a dress to save her....I felt kinda bad eating Twinkies during the Simon Dean promo....The tag match was fun if only for the crowd heat. Increcdible....God, Snitsky's promos are awful, filled with weird long pauses. They must WANT him to be awkward....

Kane's attack=early days of Kane....Ric Flair reminds me of Denny Crane on "Boston Legal"- he's old and crazy, he can still get the job done, but he's not the man he once was. The promos by Orton and Flair were really nothing new....The Jericho/Rhyno v.s Tomko/Christian match was a bit more blase than I expected....

Good backstage segment to set up the "who can they trust" angle for the main event....I was surprised Jim Ross said "promoter" when declaring who won't be making the decisions on Taboo Tuesday- has anyone in wrestling even used the term lately for fans to actually know what he meant?....The main event was okay, and a good way for people to pick their fav for the title match.

It's been reiterated several times on the show that he's officially a member of the "active roster" because he occasionally wrestles. So he has just as legitimate a claim to an I.C. title shot as Stevie Richards.

Good show overall, I think the different atmosphere helped it seem like a better show than it actually was. Even the grainy picture helped (to me) because it was different looking.

It was a good Raw. I'm still kinda pissed about not giving the titles to Regal and Eugene, send the crowd home with the idea of seeing something special since it is the first time they ever did a Raw there. I guess, it has to do with my hatred of the tag team division being so lame, La Resistance are good place holder champs. Man, do I miss E&C or even APA.

Edge's heel turn is going quite good even if it is not in the cards. Speaking of heel turns, I don't think Orton is going to be the fan favorite going into Taboo Tuesday. He got a massive pop, but when Flair came out, he killed Randy's heat. It was fun to watch, but heel Randy works better than face Orton.

Stacey looked REALLY hot tonight. That outfit was just awesome on her. Trish was sexy as hell too. Why havent they used the BOTY thing to further the Trish/Stacey feud?

Regal looked so happy to be out there. I am really sick of these Dusty finishes. I mean, its so old now to do the "they won...wait, no they didnt". And if they are gonna pull that restart, could they AT LEAST show Bichoff announcing the restart? I mean WTF is that about?

Poor Val Venis. He jobs to everyone know and do you really think anyone cares if he is at a hospitial? I could see JR next week tell everyone he is dead and then 2 seconds later going into some lame diva segment.

Good crowd makes a decent show. Parts of it almost felt like a PPV.

Random Raw Thoughts:

-Don't really have much this week, since I was too busy watching the Braves lose for the 40th straight year...

-I don't know why, but I also liked the grainy picture. Anything different looking than the usual program helps. I feel weird.

-I hope that attack on Val leads to a push with a Kane feud sometime in the future. Definitely underused talent there...

-Didn't like Raw...Didn't hate Raw...It was just there.

The grainy images were almost unwatchable on one of my TVs, but a bit better on the other. Exotic locale or no, though, I wasn't terribly impressed with what ended up with being just another blah Raw in a string of them, with booking decisions that just left me scratching my head.

Why on earth couldn't they have let Regal and Eugene win the tag titles off La Rez? It's not as if there are a ton of other great tag teams waiting in the wings for their title shot -- or as if Regal and Eugene's singles careers are going anywhere. And I'd have rather seen a rematch of this at Taboo Tuesday instead of having La Rez face the main event's leftovers.

What's the point of turning Edge heel now if he's the one the bookers apparently want to be Trips's sacrificial lamb? That said, I found Edge's turn the most interesting part of the night -- he handled the transition from petulant to violent nicely.

"Fulfill your fantasy match"? Shyeah right. What if my fantasy doesn't involve schoolgirls, French maids, or nurses? When is WWE going to pander to me, that's what I want to know.

Hey, I'm not complaining. England got a jam packed full wrestling show. We got to see it here on the television. The atmosphere was different and yes the picture was grainy. Darn satalite feed wasn't to good I guess. Anyways I thought the show was great even though it wasn't exactly edited to well in some parts.

"The only one dead around here is YOUR BABY."

Line of the year, possibly the century. How did the phenomenon of Gene Snitsky take everyone by surprise? Hell, even his entrance music last week was pretty cool.

jwrestle is right about the satellite feed; the picture is always grainy when they're sending the signal from overseas. it happened at the summerslam that came from the UK (must see PPV for Bret vs Davey at least).

i thought the crowd was kind of obnoxious. they reacted as one person when they were supposed to react and were dead quiet for everything else.

Honourable mention goes to his creepy mimicry of a baby's wail. That made my night.

I'm not sure what WWE is hoping to accomplish by having fan favorites lose in front of their home crowds. In the past week, we've seen Cena lose the US Championship in his hometown to a near-unknown, and Regal essentially "lose" the Tag Team Championship in front of a near-rabid homeland crowd. I should think that eventually such booking is going to turn on them.

The real question of the night is: Why are Val Venus and Stevie Richards tag team partners? Granted I haven't seen Heat in a long while, but don't they hate each other?

They don't; Val's still a face, Steven's still a heel. I think they just wanted Val out there to be hurt and just grabbed three other guys.

Which is lazy and sucks but typical.

Don't people ever us the word "hospital" anymore?

I don't know if this is true, but I heard they use the term "medical facility" when talking about a worked injury and will use the word "hospital" when it's legit... Does anybody remember if they used the word hospital or medicial facility when talking about Chavo jr. legit injury from Kidman's SSP a week after it happened (as I remember the week it did happen they ignored it)

-Trish vs. Stacy- Not a bad roll up on the corner from Stacy, Trish chokes Stacy sitting on the turnbuckle & Stacy throws her off... Some actual good psychology with Trish working on Stacy leg, slamming her into the ringpost, stretching it out with a half crap. Trish's kick to the side of Stacy's knee looked vicious, especially seeing Stacy's long skinny legs buckling under her. Heel & baby face girls take alternate turns running in. Actually surprisingly decent match.

-La Resistance vs. Regal/Eugene- Regal got new music with exchange of his old tights. This crowd is so in love with Regal reacting literally everything he does. Regal dominates, he & Eugene uses Conway as a battering ram on Grenier. Airplane spin by Eugene. La Rez takes some control over Eugene who gives a hot tag to Regal. Regal gets caught with the Au Revoir but big save by Eugene. Regal goes for the illegal Power of the Punch and connects & wins... Or did they! We are told that Bischoff ordered the match to go on(without any video footage of it. Lame). La Rez controls but Eugene hot tags Regal who cleans house with Eugene. Eugene hits the Austin/Rock combo & Regal hits a elbow. But a flag poll hit later, La Rez wins the match. Ah total let down for the fans. Backstage, Bischoff isn't all too happy with just a defeat of Eugene, wanted him taken out. Books a match for Taboo Tuesday for La Rez.

-Venis/Richards vs. Rosey/Hurricane- But we find out they all will have to face.. KANE!! He's out after his backstage cry and destroys the make believe superheroes who can't decide if they are heel or face and Heat jobbers who can't decide if they are heel or face... He attacks Val viciously, NOT VAL, he's is a fighter for pro-creation, REMEMBER he faced Snitsky. Poor Val, he's not having a good month on Raw. What would have been good if after Kane goes crazy, he started nurturing Val like he was a new born after Val on the ramp injured, but that could be just me.

-Orton/Flair interview- Did the fans turn on Orton or what. When old-man heel Flair brags about the women he gets, it's funny & supportive. When young kid Orton brags about it, it's obnoxious and that's exactly how the fans responded to it... A step back after their strong verbal encounter two weeks ago.

-Rhyno vs. Jericho- I try to give every match some legit thoughts but I can't think of a damn thing about this match... Seemed very forgettable. Let's see if the tag match works out better.

-Jericho/Rhyno vs. Tomko/Christian- Jericho worked more aggressive here. Tomko again bumps well for a big guy. Goar and Lionsault combo for the win... Don't understand how Rhyno and Jericho put all their differences behind them in an instant. Batista runs in and attacks Jericho.

-Edge/Benoit/HBK vs. HHH/Batista/Flair- The dislike on Edge is crazy, he's not just getting heel reaction, his heel opponents is actually get cheered against him! Sound went off(Camera 6, worst case scenario!), comes back as Benoit tenderizing Flair's body. Triple figure 4s as we go to break... Benoit gets worked over by Batista, he is saved by HBK as he tags in. HHH goes for the pedigree but HBK backdrops him, Benoit flying headbutt connects. HBK sets up a superkick but Edge tags in, HBK hits HHH with it anyways. Edge runs in & makes the pin as he literally did nothing the entire match HA(except for removing a jerk run-in fan, which I think got Edge some cheers). The winning faces stare each other down, Edge talks down to them & spears HBK from a real awkward angle, finishes the show with spearing Benoit. Edge's spin people try to spin this that it was smart to attack 2 babyfaces to get the undecided voters lol.

-OtherStuff- Snitsky awfully great promos continue. Uses the GW logic of preemptive strike against Kane, he actually made his case better than Dub. Snitsky delivery is comical, is he doing it on purpose with all his long pauses & strange emphasis. What a long crying baby taunt, is he still in the UK waaaing away... Evolution is backstage, Batista says "I wuv you HHH, you can trust me". How can you not trust a man with such muscles... Okay Simon Dean time to debut you, this repeat infomercials have done their job...

The three guys who have a chance to go for the title chat backstage. Benoit & HBK know where each other stand, Edge feels left out & bitter... Pg. 3 girls with Lawler, lets move on FAST... English folks chat, I think they are happy to have entertainment in their land, I say I think as they all sound like drunken Liam Gallager which is pretty much like normal Liam Gallager.

-Line of the Night: ROSS "Eugene is disoriented".. LAWLER "I know, but what are the effects of the airplane spin?"
-Sign of the Night: "I Evil Trish"
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Regal. 2)Eugene. 3)Snitsky.

Snitsky keeps getting a * for his promos, don't really know if it's for the wrong reason. The 1st half hour was good, a decent(considering Stacy's in there) women title match, a very hyped up Tag title match with Regal looking great. Regal losing took some steam out of the show & crowd. Orton/Flair interview kind of flopped especially on Orton end who didn't do himself any favors. Y2J/Rhyno did nothing for me, the tag match right after was okay.... 6-man had a decent build, not huge on workrate with some real workrate guys, but an OK main event. Can I rant about having 2 women fluffy gimmick match, do it for the divasearch girls fine! But give the women title a legit stipulation, wanna know my diva fantasy, how about a well booked division, we haven't had that since early 03. Stop dumbing down the division! Overall Raw was above average, can't say it's was bad, but they could have made it a lot more special if they wanted.
