Not really, no. Then you can argue the severity of the penalty, and it probably wouldn't even interest me. My problem with taking points off the board, whether against Earnhardt or the shmuck it happened to the first time, is that they're tweaking results for an offense unrelated to the contest in question. You don't mess with the results of a sporting event unless something illegal was done to influence them. I'm not an Earnhardt fan, I'm not even a NASCAR fan..my objection isn't with the severity, but the nature of the penalty. It was a stupid precedent to set.
