Nothing interesting happened to me this week. However, just now I ate 3-day old Domino's cheesy bread so I'll have to wait and see if it has any adverse effect on me. It's time for The Great Thomas SmackDown! Report!

NO MERCY: Undertaker died for the 999th time. One more and he gets a T-Shirt!

John Cena: He became the Undisputed US Champ at No Mercy. He cuts his celebratory homecoming promo. After making fun of Michael Cole for a while, he gets cut short by Carlito Caribbean Cool. Carlito says he's impressed by Cena's title win, but Cena still isn't cool. Carlito challenges Cena for the US Title. Cena accepts. Carlito hits a DDT on Cena, the spits the apple he was carrying in Cena's face.

Suzuki vs. Mysterio: Duprée and Hiroko accompany Suzuki, but where's Fifi? Kenzo sings "New York, New York" for our enjoyment, then does some Rockette kicks. Awesome. Cole mentions Kenzo winning the "Young Lions" tournament in New Japan. Mysterio gets the advantage quickly. Kenzo hits a DOUBLE UNDERHOOK JAWBREAKER! But Mysterio hits the 6-1-9! Suzuki tries to hit the STO, but Mysterio reverses it into a rollup for the win!

Pheonix, Arizona: Stacy Kiebler accepts an award from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. That kid doing the "you can't see me" gesture with Cena is adorable.

Locker Room: Josh Matthews interviews JBL. He says that he is proud to still be the WWE Champion. He also says the Bob Holly is insane, but he'll still defend his title. The match is NEXT!

George Strait: 50 Number Ones: So HE'S the one who sang "All My Exes Live in Texas"! I love that song!

JBL vs. Holly: Holly goes for JBL's wounded head. And the wound has been reopened! HARD CHOPS by Holly! BOOT TO THE HEAD! But JBL hits the FALLAWAY SLAM! Brawling on the outside. JBL is whipped into the steel steps! Tazz calls Holly a "monster". Eye poke by JBL, followed by a NECKBREAKER! Now Orlando Jordan makes his triumphant return! Holly hits a suplex. Holly climbs the turnbuckle... FLYING ELBOW DROP! JBL tries to go for the CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL, but Holly ducks it and hits the ALABAMA SLAM! Orlando Jordan holds back Holly, while JBL crawls away, and Holly wins via countout! Bob Holly is visibly pissed.

Backstage: Paul Heyman encounters Theodore Long. Mr. Long tells Heyman that when the rescue team used the Jaws of Life on the hearse, it was empty! Oooh, foreshadowing! Heyman tells Mr. Long that Heidenreich isn't scared of the Undertaker, and that tonight, he will go out to the ring and read poetry!

RAW Rebound: Triple H beats Jericho in a lumberjack match thanks to Rhyno, and Randy Orton RKO'ed everyone ever.

Locker Room: Kurt Angle tells Mark Jindrak to teach Big Show for what he did at No Mercy. And Kurt will be at ringside. The match is NEXT!

GM Long: He tells us that next week, JBL will face Hardcore Holly in a Hardcore Rules Match for the WWE Title!

Jindrak vs. Bald Show: Angle sits at the announce table, but doesn't do any Guest Commentary. Jindrak gets brought in the hard way, and its a squash match from here on in. Bald Show is distracted by Kurt's presence, and Mark Jindrak takes advantage, and whips Bald Show into the steel steps! Kurt is still mute. Luther Reigns tries to interfere, but Eddie Guerrero stops him! Kurt tries to hit Show with a steel chair, but gets a BIG BOOT for his troubles. Show then hits the CHOKESLAM on Jindrak for the 1-2-3! Afterwards, Show and Guerrero celebrate in the ring.

Josh Matthews: He interviews Carlito Caribbean Cool. Carlito tells Josh that his lack of fashion sense is not cool. Carlito tells us that tonight, he's going to teach John Cena and everyone else the meaning of "cool". Then Carlito's graphic suddenly appears on screen, which for some reason makes me laugh.

Kidman vs. Haas: At No Mercy, Kidman killed Paul London. Now he comes strutting down to the ring with a sparkly jacket. Kidman and Haas do some mat wrestling. EXPLODER SUPLEX by Haas! CROSSBODY! But Kidman comes back, and is just about to hit the SHOOTING STAR PRESS on Haas, but Miss Jackie tries to stop him. After a bit of arguing, Kidman hits the BK BOMB on Jackie, then dropkicks Haas and the referee out of the ring! Then he teases the SHOOTING STAR PRESS on Jackie, but thinks better of it and walks off. Then Haas and Rico come in to check on Jackie, while Kidman walks off with a smile on his face.

Backstage: Orlando Jordan runs into Booker T. Jordan tries to get all buddy-buddy with Booker, but Booker tells him that he won't take any crap from an arse-kisser like Jordan. He then stomps off in a huff.

Cole and Tazz: They talk about the $1,000,000 Tough Enough. We then see some of the finalists making fools of themselves.

Heidenreich: He proceeds to read us some poetry, but keeps getting interrupted by the fans. He gets pissed off, and beats up a fan who gets in his face.

Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. Cena: Cena gets to squashing Carlito. Stomping galore! STALLING SUPLEX! BACK BODY TOSS! SIDE SLAM! Whip into the steel steps! Carlito tries to come back by slamming Cena into the announce table. But Cena resumes his offensive! Cena slingshots Carlito into the crowd! Let's go to commercial break!

Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. Cena (cont.): Cena is still on the offensive. SWINGING NECKBREAKER by Carlito, and now Carlito has turned the tables! Carlito jumps over the ropes and hits an ELBOW DROP! Sleeper hold by Carlito, but Cena escapes. Now Cena does a SUPERMAN COMEBACK! FIVE-KNUCKLE SHUFFLE! Cena pumps up, and tries to go for the F-U, but Carlito escapes! Carlito grabs the US Title, but Cena prevents a BELTSHOT! But Carlito wraps Cena's chain around his fist... CHAINSHOT TO CENA! Carlito pins... 1.. 2.. 3! Carlito Caribbean Cool is the NEW US Champion! Carlito makes the referee put the US Title on him, then he puts Cena's chain around his neck. And... we're out.

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and while SmackDown! tonight was entertaining, the lack of the Ministry makes me sad.

Kenzo just looks SO awkward when he sells. Like the roll-up, he didn't roll, he just FELL on his back....Carlito took a shot when he bumped on the outside the first time....Heidenreich's lisp somehow makes him reading his poems funnier....You notice when 'Taker gets ganged up, he always fights them off at first, then gets overwhelmed, instead of straight just getting thrashed. When Gangrel, Viscera, JBL and Jordan got him, he fought them off, and did so at No Mercy too. Hell, he even fought off the WHOLE HEEL LOCKER ROOM in '94 at the Rumble....

Carlito's offense is pretty much as vanilla as everyone else. Every match seems the same- few wrestlers have moves that differentiate them from each other. I'd say that's more WWE's fault than the wrestlers', but que sera sera.

I'm digging Carlito so far as well. That apple could get over huge! Unforutnatley, I was unable to see him in the ring, as I fell asleep about half-way through the show (not because of the show's quality, just a long day).

Kenzo does look awkward in selling. During the 619, he had a sort of delayed reaction, and then took this over the top, flying half way across the ring, bump. But I'm digging the PATRIOTIC SINGING AND DANCING~!

I think WWE is really doing a good job of making Kidman out as a heel. The new jacket is a nice touch, and the teasing of the SSP on Torrie was great.

So Booker is turning face? Well, it'll be nice if they start doing something with him. I only hope Cean and RVD are next (but, I believe they want to keep him as a tag with Rey).

That's really the last thing I remember before losing consciousness. Okay SmackDown, from what I saw.

-Cena/Carlito interview- My gawd does Cena put me to sleep now. New Kids on the Block disses? What decade are we in? He couldn't fit in a Mr. T joke this week. Isn't NKOTB from Boston, hmmm?... Carlito actually saves this segment, he needs to not over use the word "cool" but overall it was a strong opening performance. Good comment about it's cool that Cena won that title since normally people with Red Sox jerseys never win anything. Good comment from Cena about Carlito "looks like Manny Ramirez but is a bigger jerk than A-Rod". I did like Carlito attacking Cena and the apple spit is cool.

-Mysterio vs. Suzuki- Hiroko is all multi-national with her miniflags on her hair and fan. Suzuki sings "New York, New York" in Boston (2for2 in the cheap heat segment factor). It wasn't too bad... Well better than Suzuki defense and transition. I liked Rey's springboard corkscrew splash.

-Holly vs. Layfield- Layfield mentions he's from New York City(3 for 3). It's amazing when he mentions Bob Holly name backstage the "crowd" popped like The Rock just made a surprise appearance. Those Smackdown fans all sound the same, everytime a non Cena/Taker/Eddie/RVD/Rey babyface is mentioned or appears backstage the crowd cheers the exact same way, same pitch and tone... Holly comes out to the match & there's that familiar cheer. There were a lot of "clubbing blows" in this match. The only real move was a Holly flying elbow other then that not much. Bad match.

-BigShow vs. Jindrak- The best thing about this match is Kurt's intense stare... BigShow does what BigShow does Jindrak still hasn't impressed me for his entire career, this match was no exception.

-Haas vs. Kidman- Kidman's JACKET! The jacket alone might be a star of the night(stay tuned). It's so 1980s wrestling attire, *marks*... Kidman seems to be working his heel gimmick well. BK bomb on Jackie & teases a Shooting star press. Rico runs out for the save.

-Heyman/Heidenreich interview- Yes! Poetry corner by Heidenreich. Heyman introduces Heidenreich. I wondered to myself "Where does he keep his poem ? In his little red tights haha Whaaaat the Fu..!" As Heidenreich removes his poem from his little red tights... Once again he reminds me of a substitute teacher I had telling us to shut up so we can get through this poem. Uncultured Boston public gives no respect so Heidenreich does an impression of a MBL player and start attacking the fans. But for some reason I have a feeling that these beaten up "fans" are as legitimate as Bob Holly's pops.

-Carlito vs. Cena- Total squash early on, I thought Carlito bumped very well. Took a hard clothesline outside the ring and a backbody drop over the rail, as we go to break. Carlito on the defense end of things is impressive so far. Nice springboard elbow from the outside to in by Carlito. More good bumping by Carlito... Carlito looked good in there and this is Cena best match in a long time, better than any of his matches with Booker. But giving someone a major title on their first outing doesn't have a good track record. Kind of bad directing/cover up when Cole says the crowd is shocked as a cut away to a crowd looking as bored and disinterested as they can be.

-OtherStuff- Wait a second, in that make a wish package did they show a clip of Cena going to a visually impaired kid and saying "You can't see me"... Chavo Gurerro Jr package is shown, it looks like he'll come back as a babyface... Kurt says he's feeling sick(literally) wish he could face Big Show right now... Teddy Long announces JBL vs. Holly part 3 in the UK next week. Take that for buying your tickets early... Josh isn't cool, Carlito is... Booker bumps into Jordan. Booker disses Jordan. Talk about your out of the blue change of character direction.

-Line of the Night: Carlito "It's cool that you(Cena) won that title since normally people with Red Sox jerseys never win anything"
-Sign of the Night: "Zzzz"
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Carlito. 2)Mysterio. 3)Cena.

I think Carlito has had the best first official day since I've seen in a long time. I'm not talking about winning the title because the track record of that isn't good. I like his character, he seems decent comfort level out there & wrestled a good match especially in his bumping... I thought Smackdown was good, the first two segments were okay and the main event and the final couple of segments were good as well. The stuff I thought was boring was JBL/ Holly and Jindrak/BigShow.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Thought Carlito was pretty bad, but outclassed Cena, who is just so far past bad that it BOGGLES THE MIND. Cena would be off his nuts important to the future of the company if he could actually work a good match because he's got insane natural charisma.

Kenzo's lil song and dance was probably the funniest thing I've seen all week.

His ring work is still pretty iffy, but I have to give him props for that unnamed double under hook/neck breaker move.

I think it's time we all step back and admit that we were wrong about Kenzo Suzuki. When he came in, everyone was all "He sucks! They should just fire him now, before we have to see him wrestle!" And while I'll admit he's not the finest wrestler in the company, his gimmick is bar-none the best on either show right now. And it's not just the concept, Suzuki puts some real effort into it. Kenzo Suzuki is an entertainment machine, and I am for one am not affraid to admit it.

I was one of the "Suzuki Sux" people. But I gotta admit, his goofy American lovin' ways are indeed entertaining me.

While I still think Suzuki is NOWHERE NEAR ready in the ring, he has entertained me lately with his new gimmick. The singing and dancing only adds to the awesomeness. It's too bad he's the worst wrestler on the roster, though.

Suzuki is MUCH worse in the ring than Tomko. Tomko can sell okay and has a coupla impressive-looking moves. Sure, he's got no in-ring poise or sense of match-flow, but he has those two aspects over Kenzo, who literally does NOTHING right when it comes to actually wrestling. He reminds me of Kurrgan, but with a better gimmick, which at least makes him watchable and marginally entertaining. And pairing him with Dupree does him good.

Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique.

What annoys the shit out of me when it comes to Suzuki is Michael Cole.
Suzuki loves America he says and Cole keeps telling he isn't sincere?
WHY? Why couldn't he really love America yet still be an asshole heel?
I am sure it's not Cole's choice to keep harping on it, but management. They really want black -white gimmicks it seems.
Lame!
Other than that, Suzuki is trying his hardest to be interesting and he does quite well.

Looking forward to seeing Carlito beat Cena....I cannot stand Cena...

Another thing....Cena's mic work yesterday would've fit PERFECTLY at a house show. But how does sucking up to the crowd by saying pro-Boston things make Joe Sixpack watching TV like him? Sure, it gets the crowd to pop, but do the people at home care?

EDIT: I know it's his hometown, but he seems to do this in every town now.

Suzuki just totally doesn't look ready in the ring. He looks like a new student at wrestling school. Always trying to figure out just what exactly he is supposed to do in the middle of the match. He comes off looking nervous and awkward. Again, I LOVE the gimmick, and I think he does show some charisma. But, in the ring, he's god-awful, especially at this stage.

As for Cena, they are just trying WAY too hard at him being a babyface. John Cena didn't get over by sucking up to the people. He got over by being an edgy, in-your-face character. Same as Steve Austin. But, do you know why Austin stayed over after the face turn? He STAYED as the edgy, in-your-face character. John Cena, however, has had all the cool-factor taken out and is now nothing more than a kiss-ass who is desperatley looking for approval from the fans. Who wants to get behind a guy like that?

I admit it -- when I heard about the beginning of the Carlito Era in spoilers, it didn't sound like that great a move. But now that I've actually seen the show, I kind of get the logic.

Cena was way too overconfident -- plus his run as a face has pretty much outlived its usefulness. So he can come back after the movie as an arrogant, disillusioned heel (hopefully) and he becomes fresh again. Meanwhile, you have a champion who is an unknown quantity, but from what I've seen so far -- I can certainly see people getting behind.

Actually, as far as the SmackDown brand goes, this was one of their shrewder moves in a while.

This is going to be very short (matches only, otherwise noted)...

1) Mysterio/Suzuki -> Suzuki is getting funnier and funnier every week. If only they let them do the Rockettes dance for a few more seconds. But, NO, Mysterio had to bound from the underground. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! OK match, but Mysterio in pink...please.

2) Holly/JBL -> Missed last week due to the debates (not what I wanted to see). OK match, but a very ugly gash on JBL. YEESH!!!

3) Big Show/Jindrak -> SQUASH!!! When I saw Big Show come out, I said "It's Bundy Jr.!!!" All he needs to do is to yell to the referee "FIVE!!!!" for the five count.

4) Kidman/Haas -> I was wrong. THIS is the biggest Kidman push since actually going over Hogan in the New Blood days of WCW. The spinebuster of Jackie really surprised me.

5) Heidenreich (not a match) -> How much later until Leaping Lanny Poffo makes a return to go after Heidenreich. Just the beatdown of the plants made it interesting for me.

6) Carlito/Cena -> Someone beat me to it with the Epstein remark. I knew Cena was going to lose, the only question was in what way. By the crowd's reaction, good thing it wasn't WCW in its main NWO run, or even after. You would have a near riot and lots of garbage in the ring. Carlito did not show much in this match, but I'm sure we'll find out what his moves are in the next few weeks. I wonder, will the Boston crowd remember this by the next Smackdown taping there, when Carlito shows up?

Next week's programs are going to be quite interesting coming from England. Here's what to expect (in my opinion). 1) Lots of action
2) Regal in a high position match
3) Travelogue of England

Can't wait. Later.
