If anyone's been waiting for this year's sleeper PS2 title, this is it. Pure delight, if you can find it, as it's reportedly a small press run.

I don't know how sleeper it is. I work PT at lets just say "Great Purchases" and am in charge of the video games. I put out the 4 copies we got so far on Saturday about 2pm, and all were gone by 3pm. Every gaming magazine I have read and website are giving this game VERY high scores. I think the word is out though. And what's up with the box art? Very relaxing and I love it.
I can't find the game at any of my local shops; either they don't carry it, never heard of it, or it sells out instantly. Maybe I can find it online somewhere; Amazon doesn't stock it, unfortunately.

Amazon has it listed as "Katamari Damashi."
(Whether or not it's in stock, I dunno.)

I got lucky and found a GameStop that had two copies on the US release day, and snagged one of them. Try EB, GameStop, Best Buy, and then hope for a second shipment if they give you no joy.

You know what? I did vote for Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true!" -- James Carville
I went to the Best Buy @ Laurel, Rockville, and Gaithersburg MD in the last couple days for various purchases. All had 12+ copies of the game. I got one, haven't played it yet.
If it's THAT hard to find, maybe I should get three or more copies to eBay. It was only $19.99 plus tax.

Thank you for proving my point. Video Game stores are for VIDEO GAMERS, and a nitche title like this will sell out. Search for bigger stores that sell games secondary and you'll be in luck.
Just because it's a short supply now doesn't mean it won't be ramped up. So I wouldnt throw too much thought into a "collectors item".
I picked up a copy earlier today at EB. (I finally got around to selling 'em my old PS1, so I paid under $10 to get the game!)
Wow. What a...strange game. I laughed out loud the first time I managed to roll up a cat. "Meeeow."
vsp, THANKS for posting this. Otherwise, I never would have even heard of this game.

Did you know? There is going to be a sequel! Hooray!
EDIT: I bought my copy at Best Buy for twenty dollars. The last time I was there, they still had plenty in stock, so I would assume that it is less difficult to find than you think.
If anyone is still looking for this game it looks like bestbuy.com has it for $19.99 in stock. I haven't gotten it yet, but bestbuy.com is how I managed to dig up the slightly rare Gamecube remake of Ikaruga last year.
And yes, I *really* looking forward to the DS version of Damacy. It should be a blast to play with the stylus.
"The Universe is shaped exactly like the Earth- if you go straight long enough you end up where you were."
I put this game in the display PS2 at work sometimes...and I find myself being VERY judgmental towards anyone who doesn't just stand there and keep playing it
Going on vacation on Saturday. No updates for two weeks. May do a massive catch-up thread upon my return, but I almost assuredly won't want to. Remember to buy the new Professor Layton. DS Retail (Tuesday) - Aliens: Infestation - Skylanders:
