First, I apologize for bringing up a game that already has had a thread, but I'm frustrated.
I CAN'T EVER WIN A TAG TEAM MATCH IN THIS COCKSUCKING GAME! If I hit a submission, the opposing tag member will run in and break it up. If I go for a pin, the tag member will run in and break it up. I can't signal MY tag team partner to come into the ring at any time (in order to attack the other member who breaks up every pin). Conversely, if I'm on the outside and my partner goes for the pin, I can't make it in the ring long enough to focus on the opposing guy AND stop him at the same time.
Seriously, the only way that I have won a tag match so far was to have the computer guys get disqualified for hitting the ref too many times.
So, is there any advice for me? As you can tell, I'm a bit emotional, so I apologize for the language. As of right now, I'm about to give up on this game.
(It's still a step up from WMXIX's story mode though).
Joe Wilson (looking at Interocitor manual)- Hey, here's something my wife could use in the house... Crow T. Robot- A man? Joe Wilson- An interocitor incorporating an electron sorter. Cal Meechum- Oh, she'd probably gain 20 pounds while it did all the work for her. Tom Servo- Cal, you bitch!
You gots to beat the computer down a lot then peform a special move that is NOT a submission so he won't immediately get up. (Best thing is to make sure it's more toward your corner) So now you should change perspective and knock the computers tag partner off the apron with a running strike and then change perspective back and you should be A-OK for the pin before the partner gets back up.
That is the ONLY way you can win by pinfall. Your partner will never come in.
Or, go for a pin. The partner will run in to break it up, but just as he gets there, hit R to release the pin. If timed right, the partner will drop an elbow onto nothing but mat. Nail him with a clothesline or any running strike. Pin again. Voila.

At least it worked in the THQ N64 games.
You can drag the opponent, but the computer AI still ALWAYS gets there in time to break up the pin, barring a one in fifty chance he misses.
I finally found my solution sort of. I made sure to give my CAW (Chris Hero from CZW and other Indys) plenty of moves that affect the head. It turns out that in the story mode, you can get KOs if you drop the opponent on their head enough.
Other than that, I am still in trouble in the tag matches. I try to hit the tag partner before I pin the guy in the ring, but my move is a dropkick and it almost always misses. I know now that the story mode is always the same, so I still can't believe that THQ would make tag matches this difficult.
It all equals another underwhelming WWE Gamecube title.

What I eventually ended up doing was making sure to totally frag my in-ring opponent so they wouldn't get up for a while, then position myself and run (using Y) towards the opponent on the apron. When your wrestler bounces off the rope it (usually) knocks them off the apron and onto the floor.
Then hit Y again to stop running, walk over to the opponent laying on the mat and cover.
You wouldn't figure it would be so hard for Triple H and Batista to beat Trish Stratus and Molly Holly, but jeez!

Nice...You pretty much in not so many words said EXACTLY what I suggested in my post. Copycat!
After the first few times, I never had any trouble getting pins. Even in handicap matches in Story Mode. No way would I say it's one in fifty of the partner not making it. When I went against Kane & Randy Orton, I got the pin on the first try by doing nothing. Every once in a while, the partner is slow getting into the ring. When my opponent is beaten up, I swear I haven't had to try pinning him more than like 3 times before I get the count.
NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Actually I was referring to letting your partner do the pin instead of you (since it's so easy). Like that one story mode match where you have to let Rhyno pin someone.
It's sad when you can pin someone no bprob, but you're watching the computer muddling around dum-de-dum...
