Granted, it was New York, but was anyone else surprised/pleased to here the crowd answer, "SURVIVE IF I LET YOU" to Bubba's comments to Taz? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive Taz has never used that line since he's been in the WWF yet they knew what to say!
I always thought "Beat me if you can....SURVIVE IF I LET YOU!" was one of the greatest catch phrases ever. I could never figure out why he didn't use it in the WWF unless Heyman had it trademarked or something.
Anyhow, besides that, I surprised I haven't seen more response from the net community about Taz and Spike's big Tag Team Title win. Am I the last admitted Taz mark out here?
Surely not!
Hopefully this isn't just another of the aimless mini pushes Taz has had over the past two years. I don't think it is though. The Dudley's pulling out the whole "You forgot where you came from" thing makes for a great angle in my opinion, especially since it's grounded in reality! Also, it looked to me like Taz has been getting back in shape which is a sign to me he's been given something interesting to do for the long term.
Let's hope its time to get back on the path of rage!!!!
I was marking out big time for the ECW catchphrases on Raw. I know it may not go anywhere, but damn it was cool to hear them bust those out. I figured it was save for the New York crowd since ECW's fanbase was pretty much all of NY, NJ and PA. Of course, the east coast has the best fans in the world.
I could swear even with my bad memory that I remember Taz(z) saying the quote a few times in the WWF. Maybe my memory really IS that bad, LOL
Regardless, it hasn't been NEARLY enough times to be once a year anyway, so it was a nice treat.
---=---:---=--- [Look up a line] Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!
The tag division is looking a lot like ECW's with the Dudleys vs Spike and Balls/New Jack/whoever.
But the match was great. I've always liked the tornado tag style and it's something that the WWF should use more often. I'm hoping Spike and Taz can hold the belts until the Rumble so we can have ourselves a 10+ minute tornado match, but we will probably just get tables again.
Given current booking, I would almost say this makes too much sense for the WWF to do ,(Government and corporate employees know what I mean) but maybe it's a way to bring Paul E. back to TV.
"My parents said I could be anything, so I became an ASSHOLE!"
I saw the tag title change coming after Tazz went into the vault to bring out those old catchphrases... incredibly good stuff, and I'm thrilled to see two of the WWF's most underutilized, underpushed and unappreciated wrestlers get some gold.
Mike: He did say it quite a bit in the early going...
bigwavedave: I think Paul E. comes back as color commentator for Smackdown when the split happens after the Rumble. (JR and the King do Raw while the Shillster and Paul E. do Smackdown).
He's definitely said it a few times in the WWF, though nowhere near as frequently as he did in ECW. I never liked it, to be honest. It was one of those Taz quotes that never seemed to quite make sense to me - I know what he means, but I don't think he means to say it like that.
My favorite Taz line was to Bigelow in ECW, when Taz saved him. Bam Bam comes up to him outside and says "Thanks, Taz!" and Taz whirls around and yells "THANKS MY ASS!" I dunno, I just thought that was funny, the way he said it with Bigelow seemingly so sincere. I'm not sure you could market that as a catchphrase, though. Tough to work in all the time.

Dude, don't even say such things out loud. HHH will hear them, and that'll be it for our favorite 5'5" tough guy.
Aw, come on, man. HHH would love Tazz. Sure, he may be small, but he's fortified with baditude and attitude. And he pretty much owns HeAT. (Aside: No, Michael Cole does NOT own HeAT. He couldn't even own Mat F'n Mania) Moreover, Tazz has that wicked awesome Tazmission, and who doesn't love that? HHH wouldn't hold Tazz down any further than he supposedly has been.
...Some fear the Pink... ...But many fear....THE MOUNTIE! (He's handsome, he's brave, and he's strong, you know)
