There are what, two cruisers who get a consistent or at least spotty push?

I don't think anyone could be so stupid as to think they're the next cruiser to get pushed to the moon. Maybe Noble was smart enough to know he'd get an okay run for a while, then become just another one of those guys who gets chokeslammed four at a time by Big Show.

It would seem to me, a cruiser in WWE is generally well served by showing up, getting some notoriety, even on the B-Shows and splitting when he thinks his dignity is being compromised to a degree when it's not worth the money.

Then he's free to go work TNA, ROH, smaller indies, Japan... and be a semi decent draw based on the exposure he got working for VKM.

I mean if WWE turfed Noble, that's how it is, but now he has a reasonable following. Would I drive 100 miles to see him? No. But if I were on the fence about going to a local indy show and then saw Jamie Noble (boy)'s name announced, I'd be there.

It still isn't a bad cruiserweight division as it stands now, especially if you consider that Kidman and London may end up as singles wrestlers.

That said, Noble was definitely worthwhile and his matches were entertaining enough. It's unfortunate, but it's certainly not the end of the world for SmackDown or anything...

Wow, this sucks. I am a pretty big Noble fan, even though I haven't seen much of him. And I try not to be negative, but given what I read in the spoilers and this news, it just seems that everytime WWE makes me optimistic, they screw up. Was there any possible reason not to do Chavo/Noble v Kidman/London for the titles. That would have ruled in the ring and would have gotten all four of them a push. But alas....

Gah, they've lost another cruiserweight, bummer. I think the WWE should just give up on it. I mean have they ever showed a willingness and effort in making their CW division legitimate?

Have there still been no new details released about the termination? I'm curious what the sources might be shouting about the release.

As it is, I always like Noble, even during the Nidia break-up angle. The entire storyline about needing the Cruiserweight title to get away from the trailer park was at the very least entertaining, and at the very best better than it should have been. Plus, I loved every single match he HAD with Mysterio.

Via InsidePulse:

    - According to PWTorch, WWE sources felt that Jamie Noble did not bring enough to the table, not getting over despite being given several gimmicks, and working too much of a heavyweight style for a small wrestler. Additionally, Noble also allegedly recently made an insurance claim for an issue that had nothing to do with WWE, even though he cited that it did.

The insurance claim thing I could see (although I'd like to see more detials on what exactly that entailed), but everything else is completely ludicrous.

It's been downhill for him ever since he lost the entrance music that starts with the electric guitar riff. THAT was some good music.

That makes it seem as though they fired him more because they weren't happy with his performance. The way it was really said, they fired him 100% because of whatever he did with a phony insurance claim. The part about them not thinking he brought enough to the table was to explain why he didn't get a second chance when someone who they had plans for might have.

What "several gimicks" are they talking about? I only saw one, maaaaaaaybe 2. And that 2nd one was more like a continuation/next chapter of the first one.

And the "working too much of a heavyweight style for a small wrestler" part is crap too. When he first got to WWE (before he hooked up with Nidia), his style looked pretty damn cruiserweight to me, so it's not like he CANT work that way.

Therefore, I have no choice but to call BS on the PWTorch's report.

I'm sure they let him go because of the insurance claim business, but this part is my favorite line, as if they are suddenly looking for little guys to show up their heavyweights when in the past, the line has always been that they told these guys to tone it down. It's all very confusing. What to believe??

You have not heard PWTorch's report if your going based on InsidePulse. They did not even say anything about Noble having several gimmicks. Also, there was no pre Nidia period in WWE for Noble, he came in as her mystery boyfriend. And his wrestling style was a knock on him right away because he was much more ground based and less exciting than other cruiserweights, which led to disappointment in his early matches when they were not fun cruiserfests. That doesn't mean he wasn't a good wrestler, but the point about his wrestling style is very valid.

It'd be valid if the WWE didn't discourage theire cruisers from doing those "fun cruiserfests".

What's been the company line? Tell a story. Slow it down. Make every move mean something. Work the holds. And now the (presumably) want to use that against him? Spike, the current cruiser champ, doesn't fly around. Other than the occasional "big bump", many of the other cruisers don't fly around, either.

To me this is just further proof that Vince doesn't want wrestling fans watching wrestling.

It's valid either way because that is not how Jamie Noble wrestles. He does not wrestle like Rey, or like Kidman, Paul London, Hurricane, Shannon Moore, and many others who I could name. He's still very good, but it's a fact and this has been talked about since Noble started. But as I keep saying, it had nothing to do with why he was fired. PWTorch even said that Noble's style is good in that WWE doesn't like guys who are all flash and high spots but can't wrestle, but they weren't in love with him and didn't go out of their way to keep him around when he pulled the insurance bit. That's why he's gone, end of story.

I just can't see why they wouldn't like him. He's got charisma, he's got decent mic skills, he can make guys look good, he hasn't injured anyone, he busts his ass every time out. There's guys they keep around who bring far less to the table, so it's baffling how they can use that line of reasoning.

On another note, they wasted no time taking him out of the SD opening video.

As for Noble style, personally I like more the London or Mysterio style, but than again I don't think having 10 guys all carbon copies of Mysterio (or more likely worse versions)... When WCW cruiserweight division was peaking, they had guys like Rey and Juvi. But they also have personality driven wrestlers like Jericho, and also has mat technicians like Dean Malenko, which is the category I put Noble in. Maybe Noble/Malenko isn't as flashy as Rey, Juvi or London but they played a strong role. Even saying that I noticed in the last few months Noble was wrestling a much more faster style.

What surprises me the most is that Noble is one guy who actually got his character somewhat over in a decent level. There's alot of guys in that SD lockerroom that hasn't had the success as Noble in the last few years. Obviously Vince and Co. has a bias for the big man, so I won't even go into that. But even at the cruisers I thought Noble has portrayed more success and has very good mic skills which isn't too common place in the cruiser division... But we haven't seen to much of it recently as Noble has had difficulty finding his character niche since his break up with Nidia.

Just to let anyone who may be interested know, barring him being booked overseas or the terms of his WWE release blocking it (which they most likely would not), Jamie Noble is reportedly booked for IWA Mid-South's 8th anniversary show on 10/23.
