Originally posted by the Rasmussen Reports PollIn his bid for re-election, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle has fallen slightly behind former Congressman John Thune.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds the Republican challenger earning 50% of the vote while Daschle attracts 47%. However, the 3-point advantage for Thune is well within the survey's 4.5 point margin of sampling error.
Rasmussen Reports has not conducted a survey on this race since February. At that time, Daschle had a three-point lead.
Thune leads 51% to 46% among men and 49% to 47% among women. Investors prefer Thune by a 53% to 45% margin.
This has been a race of huge national interest for quite some time, and a lot of pundits have Daschle going down to defeat. Looks like his time at Senate majority leader has doomed him...
You know, if John Kerry weren't so darn electable, the Democrats would be panicking right now. Oh wait, he isn't and they are. - James Taranto
Actually surprising that the male/female breakdown are both within the margin of error. The key to the election will be the Native American vote. If that comes out huge, Daschle retains. If not, the minority leader gets booted, and any hopes for the Democrats to regain the Senate this election go out the window.

Or, if Democrat tradition holds, the key could be the dead Native American vote.

Corajudo, my experience has been with the KS, OK, and CO delegations both in D.C. and in KS. I am not refering to an item suchas you stated but things such as ARS monies for research, RMA insurance coverage and things like that.
