Any truth to the rumors that Tommy Dreamer has replaced Dr. Tom in the talent development role? I have seen this a couple of places like Rajahwwf.com, but I don't know if they all quote themselves?
If so, good for Tommy, I always liked him. I don't know much about Dr. Tom other than the occasional Byte this appearance where his opinions always led me to think he was just another Vince "yes man".
Pwinsider is also reporting; guessing that's where Rajah got it from.
The reasons why apparently aren't out there yet, but that sounds kind of disappointing to me. By all accounts, Pritchard helped developed guys like Rock, Angle, Brock, Edge, Christian, Test, Val Venis, etc. as they were coming into the organization. So no matter who takes over, they'll have big shoes to fill.
Also, I wonder where this puts Bruce Pritchard, who has been a WWF lieutenant for a lot longer than Tom. The pwinsider report was saying he's been gone from SD for a couple of weeks battling personal problems.
I just came here to post this. This is being reported at the Wrestling Observer, which all the "secondary sites" are citing as their source and which is usually pretty accurate.
It's going a bit far to imply Pritchard was solely responsible for the guys you mention. Most of them were not much different by the time they signed with WWE. In fact, most of them were trained by some of the best indy trainers out there like Tony Condello, Keith Hart, and Ron Hutchison.
Pritchard won't be much of a loss, but it's a little shocking when a longtime employee like him gets canned.

Hopefully out the door, too. Bruce is the guy supposedly behind the (thankfully aborted) idea to put a bunch of "extreme gimmicks" on SD, as well as being a big hater of the cruisers and a big lover of "bigger = better" when it comes to wrestlers.
It's probably all a big ruse by the company. I can't imagine that all of the sudden the Pritchard boys and Vince are on bad terms. I bet they're just taking some much needed time off and will focus on other projects. There's only so much money and whatnot that people actually need. By stepping aside he continues the good faith effort made by the senior wrestlers as the changing of the guard continues slowly but surely. It's not like Bruce or Tom are dead - just one phone call away if even that.
Fuck - I know it was a slow news weekend, but really...
Vince cuts people loose all the friggin' time - because once your WWE - you're WWE 4 Life.
I think I'm back to near non-whiny-level health so hopefully the full schedule of comix n' workarates will get mostly done this week. We'll see, won't we.
