Depends...can he play running back?

[Actually it wouldn't be a bad 1-year pickup for Miami if the price is right considering the hole they have at LE]

I say good riddance. Biggest Jags free-agent bust since Bryce Paup. Came into camp out of shape last year. This year, he's done nothing thus far in camp or in pre-season games.

Though after cutting Brackens last week, they're DE depth is alarmingly thin.

I'm wondering what's going on here with ex-Eagles. The last two dominating Eagles defensive players (Hugh and Trotter) have fizzled, big-time, in their new environments. It's starting to make Andy Reid, and (more importantly) Jim Johnson seem like geniuses, either by letting older guys go or building a defense that caters to the strengths of their players.

That said, the Eagles need a DE. Two unprovens on Kearse's opposite side don't fill me with confidence.

.....and apparently the Eagles, Skins, Giants, and Bears are interested.

I wish I could hear 610 if the Eagles resign Hugh.

We got our wish. 610 hosts that called Lurie cheap must be jumping off the Ben Franklin.

All I want to say is thank you Eagles. This is crazy its as if the Eagles were controlled by me in Madden this year. I wonder if Hugh is going to try to get in the afro contest with Freddie and McNabb? Its put up or shut up time for this team no more excuses.

......and there was much rejoicing.

I really couldn't give a crap how he played when he was in Jacksonville. He never settled there by all accounts and was playing in a team that was never going anywhere last year.

If he can get back to being half the player he was before he left then we're gonna have a heck of a pass rush with Kearse on the other side and Simon and Walker in the middle. Even if he does sod all we've still got McDougle who's apparently looking good in camp. Johnson must be like a pig in shit thinking up blitzes to back them up.

Doncha think the LEAST he could've done was to come to camp in shape last year?

And playing on "a team that was never going anwhere last year" is no excuse to just mail it in.

It's at least nice to see Douglas harboring no ill-will toward the Jags.

No, its not an excuse, but if you're generally not happy settling into a new city then your desire to do so ain't gonna be helped if the team you're playing on sucks.

I doubt he'll be the player he was a couple years back, but he'll be better than he was at the Jags, and with Kearse attracting most double teams that should be good enough. His presence in the locker room won't be a bad thing either.
