From the Wrestling-Online.com newsletter via the TiranTimes.com

> OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST ASKED TO JOIN WWE
- TehranTimes.com is reporting that a WWE official has contacted 2004
Olympic gold medalist Karam Ibrahim to join the sports entertainment
company after winning the gold medal for Egypt in the Greco-Roman 96kg
category. The 25 year old said that before coming to Athens, he went to
a training camp in Colorado and after visiting his brother in New York,
he got himself some tickets for a WWE show. "It interests me but I still
have to decide in my mind (whether to do it)," he said.

Could we have another Kurt Angle on our hands? The broadcast team gave Kurt Angle recognition after Karam won at the Olympics. That was probably a rare occasion we might "never" hear again.

Online Onslaught's got a thing about this too. Sounds interesting! And God knows we can always use more guys who can actually wrestle. Would he be the first Egyptian in WWE?

I wonder if the Greco-Roman style of wrestling is really a good base for a transition into pro style? Not to try and raise doubts, as I think this may be a good move if it goes down, but not using your legs certainly doesn't sound like something out of any pro wrestling match I've ever seen. And that kind of intense training can be hard to "un-learn".

Good lord I hope he's got something else to bring to the table other than Greco-Roman wrestling. That was some of the dullest stuff I saw throughout the entire Olympics. It even took the homo-erotic undercurrents of pro wrestling to hither to unseen 'heights. I mean, props for the skill leve involved and everything, but as spectator sports go? Ugh.

You know, I think that "the Pharoah" was just about the only goofy gimmick that Vince never tried. Glad to see he's getting a chance to rectify that situation!

Greco Roman takes great strength. If only the Cold War took place in the early 90s Alexander Karelin would have been a monster heel.

I saw the gold medal match, and the guy's a great fit for the sport. Good looking, tall, and the announcers kept saying how much charisma and personality he has. My first impression (before I realized I was watching the gold medal match) was that he would be a good crossover to the WWE, if there was any interest in him. Not long after that, the announce team said he'd been contacted by WWE and that they thought he was perfect for sports entertainment. So it looks promising, at the very least.

Watch a match of his before you question whether it's a good idea or not - and whether or not he can wrestle "WWE style" - because I only saw one of his matches, and already I'm sold on the guy.

Last two truly break out stars in the WWE? Angle and Lesnar. Both of them were "real" wrestlers. WWE needs to go after that demographic more than training Tough Enough guys. Good move if they do this.

The Torch just posted a link to pictures of this guy:

Looks like the Rock's long lost brother.

Also, the Torch says his name is Karam Gaber.

He's got a great look. And you could use Angle to bring him along (have Angle with a faction of Reigns, this guy and himself). Then have Angle destroy him, from what I have seen, these guys could have a great feud.

I still think they need to try to sign Cael Sammuelson. He would be a great cruizer addition

The guys name is Cael Sanderson. And by the looks of him, he's no cruiser.

Cael Sanderson wrestles at 185. Huge neck area makes him look bigger.

Well, he might also go by that name BUT the name he competed under at the Olympics was Karam IBRAHIM. If you don't think I am on the up and up click the link below for the official Olympic bio sheet on him.

Once again like most of you said he'd be a great grab for the WWE. I also agree.

Karam will be a good addition. I remember watching his matches during the Olympics and he is just oozing with charisma. But he is going to have to get a manager because his English is not that good at this point. The story he told was he was going to go to the WWE instead of the Olympics, but a rich guy in Egypt paid him like 20,000.00 to compete for Egypt instead. So now he can go to the WWE.

Damn, that gives me an appreciation of just how big most pro wrestlers really are. A guy like him is a lightweight compared to say, Matt Hardy.

Once again, at least to me, this story lacks logic. Why does Noble get depushed based on an opinion about Nidia? What does that have to do with him? The pairing of Nidia and Noble is arbitrary, it can be undone.
