Nice to see they're finally (maybe) going somewhere with this. Of course, if they actually paid attention to their own product, they'd know that it was already revealed to be Stevie several weeks back on Heat.

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.
That DIVA Search contest was rather pointed, don't you think?
Actually I think that is the most cussing I've heard on RAW since the Bret Hart Tough SH*T/Bull SH*T interview on RAW. I also agree that could be the RAW XX or 20th anniversy show highlight or just packaged as the show itself. For a split momment I thought it might go RAW XXX after she started grabbing those hooters...anyways. I guess it wasn't a bad show overall.

For those who care, the "Hardy Boys" were (from L to R):
Skulu The Samoan Savage (Fat Hardy) Sean Riddick (Didn't hear his name. Long brown hair) Lil' Nate (Nat Hardy. The skinny one in the bad wig) Shane (or possibly Shannon. I'm pretty sure it's Shane) Ballard (Pat Hardy)
They're all from UPW.
Triviata: Lil' Nate debuted at the same time as Nathan Jones.

HELLO, they're in SAN FRANCISCO - the Jeff Garcia shot was RIGHT THERE and nobody took it. KNOW YOUR CROWD. This is yet another reason why I can't in good conscience vote for any of 'em. Also because I was rooting for Tracy, or was it Tracie
Diva Contest: The only one of those chicks with a diva-like personality is that jittery little redhead. She's growing on me. Carmella, who got completely punked tonight, did get her digs in, but she sounded like a kind of vacuous, solipsistic sorority girl rather a diva, with comebacks like, "I thought you were jealous of me. Oh, so you're not jealous of me." That's the way bimbos catfight outside of frat bars when they're three sheets to the wind and ready to pull some hair and cheat on their boyfriends with me (did I just type that out loud?), but it's not TV calibre trash talking. Oh right, and then there's the other two contestants left, tweedle boring and tweedle more boring. Who cares.
Randy's music: no edge, no snap, no zing. It's crap. Hopefully, they were just testing it out, and are working on something better. I believe they changed Eugene's music to something more suitable after he debuted. And didn't they do the same Shelton Benjamin? There's time for Randy to get some music that fits his persona and has a good hook to it. He'll need that.
Jericho's neologism of the night: ricockulous! (compare, "ridiculous").
CHRISTIAN! CHRISTIAN! AT LAST, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! Hey, great eye contact between Edge and Christian tonight! The possibilities are endless and this is just what Raw needed. Something to keep the fans guessing. I like it!
Hey, there was a tag team match with La Res and Tajiri and Rhyno, wasn't there? Wasn't Coach in it? I must have been getting a snack or something. Something with filler in it, to go with the match.
Women's match: Has Nidia put on a noteworthy amount of weight in the last couple of months? She looked kinda thick. Like Sheri Martel thick. Like early Moolah thick. Or did I have something in my eye? Like and extra 25 pounds?
Line of the night: The prize goes to King, who said, "Look at Nidia. She's wearing what I call an atomic outfit. ... There could be some fall-out." (Referring, if you didn't see the outfit, to her precarious neckline).
Priceless: Stevie Mystery Woman Night-heat slipping on the ramp, then disappearing. Was that planned? I doubt it.
Benoit/Flair: Crowd still pops for Benoit. He's still a threat. Losing the belt hasn't buried him. I'm relieved. Flair managed not to suck too much, and I can't bitch too much that a man his age has the limited moveset that he does, but enough with face-plants. If you do it in every match you're in, even once let alone twice, it really loses its effect...quickly. It's not like having a patented wrestling move or hold, it's more like telling the same joke over and over. It's old now. Time to switch it up, Ric.
HHH/Eugene: Eugene was out-wrestling HHH for much of the match. I'm still a little surprised whenever HHH let's himself be shown up like that. It makes me wonder if he doesn't have a sincere desire to help Dinsmore get over. Of course, HHH gained the upper hand by using his brains, and la la la. Still, he worked really well with Dinsmore and Orton, and he doesn a good job of making them both look good. So props to HHH tonight. He's on my most improved list for helping keep the momentum of the show going. He got Benoit more over than ever, and now he's doing the same for not one, but two younger guys. Also, while I'd like Randy to work a lot more on his ring work, his presence and charisma, his promos and over-all character development have been coming along nicely. I used to really dislike his work, and now I'm startingto enjoy it. . . and no, it's not because of the face turn
Not a stellar show tonight, but some great moments, and some key development. These days, I'm really liking RAW more then Smackdown. Im wondering when the pendulum will swing again.

Note to WWE: next time you have a Diva Search, put it on the pre-taped show. Oh wait, that's right....there won't be another Diva Search after this abomination. Nice use of a quarter million bucks, Vince.
Pretty blah RAW tonight. The Eugene character is now officially dead; get him to Smackdown, STAT. The only interesting twist was the Edge/Christian/Jericho triangle, and it was cool to see Xtian get a good deal of heat despite being away for a few months.
I really liked the diva segment simply because of the shock value. During the whole segment my wife and I just kept looking at each other and saying "OMG.....did she just say what I thought she said ???". But then later I thought to myself: "Holy crap.....there were children in the crowd !!!".
For the very first time, I kinda felt sorry for Carmella (and I hate Carmella) after she gave a rub to Chrissy, then just had to immediately watch Chrissy just viciously turn on her. But that firey red-head has been my favorite since day one, and she still is. She just seems like she would eat dog shit on live television if Vince asked her to.

I think you're probably wrong.
It was clearly a prat-fall.
And besides, if he wasn't supposed to fall, there would've been no ending to the match. The fall caused the distraction.
Its a 'clue' that the mystery woman is Richards. The wig was in his eyes/he couldn't see/he tripped/he's a clueless putz.
It was interesting to hear Ross say how this wasn't really a mystery. Watch for the swerve, it's really Terry Taylor under the wig. Or better yet Bob Backlund and all he wants is to either shake Victoria's hand or throw her in the chicken-wing, he's undecided.
The opening made decent use of Orton - I don't hate him as much as I used to (still don't like him, but I digress).
La Resitance/CoachXTajiri/Rhyno was a little throw away... they did a pretty neato job of building it up... and now, it's just on the back-burner.
Kane/Lita - and Fat/Rat/Nat/Pat was... well, I liked when the "HardyZ" made their little enterances... it made me chuckle.
The Diva search literally had me dropping my jaw. I was like, "Did Amy just say 'cock'? Can you say that on TV?" I guess so, since it was mentioned 3 other times. Edgy, yo!
FlairXBenoit... they went through the motions, which Naitch seems to insist upon during all of his matches. As much as I loved him... those days are over, we seem to enjoy innovation over familiarity.
Batista/Regal... I really like Batista, but it was a waste of Regal.
HHHXEugene... a fun little match. Orton/HHH overshadowed the match, but it did, rightfully so.
Women's Match... I love all of the competitors (aside from Nidia)... but, again, it was just another throw-away match.
So... yea, it was a decent show, and the Diva Search shocked me (and being shocked is part of the fun of wrestling, right?). :)
Erm... the only pic with a wrestler that I have right now...
PLEASE, someone tell me they transcribed the diva segment. The whole thing reminded me of Ralphie's father trying to get the basement heater to work, only the girls weren't talking nonsensical gibberish.
What an embarrassment. They market this thing for months; they show us these smiling faces, then all of a sudden, we have to pick the best drunken sailor.
RAW is in Wichita Falls next week? They really, really must be pissed at the talent if they're booking a show in North Texas at the end of summer. They hold a 100k bike race in Wichita Falls this time of year to celebrate the sweltering conditions. The Canadians are gonna think they've landed on the equator. Especially in their regulation slacks and button-down shirts.
But it's a dry heat.

I have to admit, I'm more interested in the diva nonsense then ever before.
I think the wwe was trying to bait the divas(most likely Carmella) into a shoot fight last night. Well, they almost got what they wanted. Next week, they will probably get them physically involved somehow to get that Jerry Springer moment.

What pisses me off is the Evolution music is perfect for him, but I guess it's not possible to let him continue to use it. It just kind of sucks...HHH has his own theme, Flair has his, even Batista has one - but Orton only used the Evo theme, and he's the one that has to change. Oh well.
At least WWE is somewhat acknowledging the Divas segment ... from WWE.com
"One of the final five $250,000 RAW Diva Search contestants was eliminated. Filling in for an injured Jonathan Coachman, Stacy Keibler alerted Maria that she was no longer a part of the contest. After the announcement, the final four contestants went on profanity-laced tirades, berated each other."
Does anyone have a picture of Maria flipping off Carmella? That was classic. Everything that I would say about the Diva thing has been said. Whoever made the comment about Jeff Garcia was right on the ball, I figured someone was going to refer to her catfight at the club (or to the TO comments) to no avail.
Edge/Christian/Y2J is gonna be great!!! I don't care what anyone says, if Bradshaw can be made into a ME heel, why can't Christian? Him staring down Edge made it worth the 2 hours for me just to see that.
I agree about the Orton music. I was hoping they would give Orton the old Evolution music that they used before the Motorhead version. The angry techno music that was used for about a month, oh well.

Man, I'm just not feeling *ANYTHING* on Raw lately. Maybe it was Benoit losing the belt, I dunno, but I'm way more into SD right now than Raw. Nothing on the show is pulling me in, with the exception of a possible Benoit/Batista feud. I don't care about Orton/HHH, Kane/Lita/Hardy/HBK, Les Res vs. Tajiri/Rhyno, diva stuff, women's division (except for hot heel Trish and Gail's array of swank submissions). I like Jericho, but I find Edge extremely bland, so that's hurting the IC scene. Maybe Christian's return will spice things up.
Taker/JBL is nothing to write home about, but at least Book/Cena and Kidman/London vs. Chavo/Knoble are more interesting to me than anything going on over on Raw.
One of the few Raw's recently that I've taped and watched later.... glad I did. Most of it was entirely fastforwardable.
Randy Orton's new theme song? Maven called -- he wants his music back. And I'm sorry -- the guy just isn't getting over as a face. Time to pretend like the whole thing was a set-up by Evolution (or a bad dream, or whatever). As a heel, Orton still has some potential...
I cannot BELIEVE that JR didn't acknowledge that Edge and Christian were brothers. I mean, what if you weren't watching wrestling in 2001 (chances are, WWE hasn't picked up a ton of new fans since then, as the ratings might suggest, but some)? You wouldn't have known the significance of that. I am SO looking forward to E&C 2004, but if just ends up that Edge re-turns into a face after his injury, that will totally reek (and not of awesomeness).
Not much to say on the Diva segment that hasn't already been said here. But perhaps it's time to bring some "wrestling elements" into this contest, eg have Carmella attack one of the slu...er, contestants, and not just verbally.
Hey, they remembered on commentary that Benoit used to be a world champion. I'm SHOCKED.
HHH and Eugene was decent, and even though Orton did a run-in wearing trunks (and was fully dressed during the start of his earlier interview), it made sense. Still, would it have killed them to make more of the history between these two? This should have a special match (pun NOT intended), and instead it was just a regular HHH match.
I hate Orton and his title reign, however, they did a good job with him as face. The opening segement was great and even the end with him helping Eugene win was good. My concern is this, the heel antics probably won't work for him. He is not Austin or Eddie where no matter if what they did they got a loud crowd reaction. Randy was getting pops and chants, but they were deafening. If they keep him tweener it might work, but I just thinkt the fans will not see themselves in Randy's shoes.
A good face champion and even tweener there is something there you like about them. Hogan was the symbol of 80s America, Savage was a good friend and had Elizabeth, Warrior had cool make-up and was a force of a nature in the ring, Bret was the disciplined techinical wrestler, Shawn was going for his boyhood dream, Ausitn deafied authority and was a working class, Rock was the People's champ, Mick was the guy who no one thought could be champ, but was, Eddie beat his addictions, Kurt was fun and Benoit defied the odds. What is Orton's thing, he defied Evolution, thats good, but thats the short term, he needs something for the long term if he is going to Wrestlemania with the title. Legend Kill could work, but after HHH and Flair there really isn;t any heel legends for him to work against.
Yet, for some reason, I think they know that and they planted a seed last night. Orton said once Flair and Batista realize HHH is using them, they'll do what he did. I think they are setting up a double turn for Unforgiven. I just found it odd Batista and Flair never went into the ring with Orton. He did have a sledgehammer, but it was odd.
I guess we'll see if Heyman's still got it and how long Bischoff will last before they figure out he's useless. I'm not optimistic, but I guess Heyman successfully promoted Goldberg-Brock pretty recently, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
