You might remember this guy from last year. I believe the esteemed Whitebacon had his words of wisdom as his sig. "Some people like skinny women; I like fat women. Some people like clean hats; I like my dirty hat."
Well, he got ejected tonight for too much pine tar on the hat. Amusingly, he put his arm around the ump on the way out, and then tossed his hat to a fan, who immediately put it on.

Rock on, Mr. Tavarez.
I wonder if MLB will give him a suspension for making physical contact with an umpire?

Originally posted by ESPN.com article The Cardinals are the sixth team in six years for Tavarez, who played for the Pirates last season. He was disappointed that manager Lloyd McClendon would use such a tactic and deposited a handful of his clean caps on McClendon's desk after being ejected.
"If the game was tied, let's mess with his head," Tavarez said. "It's 4-1, you're 35 games out, you ain't going nowhere, what are you doing? I got a little sad and I just took my hats over there."
Sad. The poor man. Julian's just trying to make his way in the world with a dirty hat. Why does McClendon have to disrespect that?
I was at the game, and it seemed like Tavarez found the whole thing funny, and the ump you could tell didnt want to throw him out. According to local news that night the amount of pine tar would be the equivalant of touching a bat on accident that had pine tar on it, then adjusting your hat (pretty much kind of like a pine tar fingerprint). The kid that got the hat was interviewed after the game, he apparantly sold the hat for $150. (Seeing as how the hat was involved for controversy I bet he could get more on ebay for it).
Lisa: Poor predicatble Bart, always picks rock Bart: Good ole rock, nothing beats that
I really think that the Yanks will wind up with Matsuzaka, and bring back Mussina for two years at less money than the fortune he's been getting. With those two moves, it would give them 4 spots (with a returning Unit)
