He starts all 16 games for a playoff team then gets cut? Parcells must really love Henson, unless Quincy's been hanging out with Ricky Williams all summer or something.

Hmmm ... that's not something I expected to read today ... I'm sure he'll wind up somewhere as a #2 ... I think he's got some skills and he proved it last year.
Who's going to pick him up as a number 2 at this point? Seriously, I don't see it in him (him as a talented QB - last tear was all Dallas' D). It's too late in the scheme of things to have him come in and supplant someone's Number 2.

There are plenty of teams needing a decent #2 ... Arizona, Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, New England ...

New England has Rohan Davey, who was MVP of the World League (aka the breeding ground for QBs). I didn't believe in the guy until I watched him play this spring, but the Pats do NOT need a backup QB.

How Parcells can cut him, yet stand by LT for years is beyond me. Unless the drain of doing it once has him gun shy.
LT was one of the greatest players in NFL history, or at least one of its greatest linebackers. Parcells just had to deal. Taylor was absolutely given a longer leesh.
Also, it looks like the means by which the Cowboys found out about the drug use is being called in question. According to NFL Today on ESPN, team-administered drug tests are illegal, and it hasn't been confirmed that the league gave him a "random" drug test.
The Cowboys are totally fucked unless they can trade for someone. I know Parcell's likes guys he knows, but I doubt Bledsoe is available this close to the season. With a 40yr old and a guy who hasn't played in a couple of years this team could very well have the biggest downturn of the season.
That's an awful lot of excitement from a fan of the Big Blue. Tell me, do you think Eli Manning would've gotten $20 million if his last name were Jones? I wonder who will end up with more combined turnovers, Vinny and Henson or Eli and Warner. (My money would be on the guys without stars on their helmets.)

Personally I couldn't care less who gets more turnovers, for the number will surely be rather high in both cases. [/smugness]
Since I don't post much in the Football folder I will state for the record I am lifetime Cowboys fan so you can take my bias for what it is.
I am thrilled over this. Anyone ever hear an interview with Quincy? Let's just say he doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. His decision making on the field certainly does nothing to disprove my theory.
Anyone seen Vinny play recently? Vinnie of the Ravens and Jets is not the Vinnie of the Bucs and Browns.
The Cowboys have been throwing rookies at the quaterback position ever since Aikman left. They definatly have the recievers if somone can just read the field a bit and not freakout and just hum shit anywhere like Carter did. The big if is Vinnie staying injury free. If he does a lot of Cowboy haters will wish Quincy was still there.

Sorry my tone didn't come through loud and clear on this one. Since the Giants will probably be quite awful this year, I must take every opportunity to wish others in the division bad luck. I also think the Cowboys are better off with Testaverde at QB than Carter.
Especially when one considers that most NFL players have been involved with the game in one way shape or form since early adolesence. If this screams anything at all it's "book deal" and "Oprah visit".
