HUGE NEWS... something that will affect ALL OF YOU... each and every one of you.
Next Monday will be my last column.
I'm totally serious. I am not jerking you. I'm gone.
I'll explain Monday.
I'm sorry.
I'm ... not sure what to make of this.

Just so you guys know: 75% of this crap [you read on the internet] is made up, either by the writer, or the wrestler the writer is getting the dirt from. Just so you know. -- Statement by "Tammy Sytch", from Hyatte's Dec. 29th column ... Lest we forget.
If it helps, I know for a fact that he's not lying, but beyond that I cannot divulge anything else about the situation.
Scott Keith / Author / Reviewer / Swell Guy www.411mania.com / scottkeith.blogspot.com Want to see my DVD collection? http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=Netcop "Tonight...In This Very Ring, A Fan's History of Professional Wrestling", now in bookstores near YOU!
Yikes, just read it. That sucks. Could this be a temporary thing like the last one?

"If you want me to watch the shows, buy tickets when you come to town, buy t-shirts, and pay for a PPV every three days, you bet your ass I'm going to hard to impress. And when you give me stuff that blows and then tell me I don't get a vote on sharing that opinion, I'm going to tell you to go catch an STD." - Hogan's My Dad
"My brother saw the Undertaker walking through an airport." - Rex "Was he no-selling?" - Me
With little to no FLEA, Eric S.'s mysterious absence this week and you cutting back Scott (and deservedly so), not a lot of reasons for me to head over there, other than the comic book section.
Again, I hope that everything works out for him personally and if he happens to reads this, I've very much appreciated the wit, wisdom and wrasslin' talk he's provided over the years.
And if this is like the last couple of "retirements" (or "deaths," who can keep track?), well I'll be first online in the morning at work to read him and waste as much company time as possible.

I'm probably jumping to conclusions here.... but if both are leaving 411 this week, could that mean something's happening to the site? Especially because Scott just said he knew the Hyatte thing was true....?
If not, losing two of their absolute best writers (whether you agree or disagree with their opinions) in the same week? OUCH!

I think you are on to something here, but I don't think it is a new website, but that they are taking the 411 out of the name somehow.

Seems like something will be changing with the site. Of course I get this idea from the following quote from Eric Szulczewski in a column after 411mania's one year anniversary.
Originally posted by Eric Szulczewski on 3/4/04We were going to do a sort of celebration on the anniversary of Mania, but Ashish talked us out of it, telling us that the site as a whole should be honored by celebrating its seventh anniversary in August.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. Although I could be way off ;)
Murphy's Law "The odds of the bread landing buttered side down are directly proportional to the price of the carpet."
Hyatte made a post in the 411 forums a while back, and from what I could gather it seems as if Keith is taking over his spot in news reporting and giving up ranting while Hyatte leaves, which makes sense as a few rants ago Keith thanked Hyatte for something. Should be fun.
Over at Scotsman's forums there's a post in a thread (forget which one) where someone says something about 411 being "[a] top independent wrestling site" and Scotsman replied with that quote, italicizing the word "wrestling" and putting a little ninja head icon under the quote with no further explanation. That gave me the impression the wrestling section is either being shaken up considerably or done away with altogether.
Also, someone else over there has suggested that the wrestling section is being split off from the rest and revived as 411Wrestling again with interesting comments attributed to either Widro or Ashish (forget which one).
Before you get a little drastic, here's what Hyatte said. Whether he's bullshitting or not...well I'll guess we'll find out Monday won't we?
Before this gets out of hand... let me re-iterate:
After my next column on Monday, I have to quit 411.
That leaves Mondays opened.
Scott just said he won't be doing any more RAW RANTS for 411 after Monday. I know for a FACT Scott isn't leaving Widro. Widro takes care of him and all Scott wants out of life is a skilled webmaster to do the work he hates to do.
After Monday, there is a 411 news spot opened.
Now, Widro isn't too thrilled with me at the moment, so I am no longer privy to the site decisions, but... well, put two and two together here.
Maybe Scott just wants a change of format? He's been ranting for years. I did 4 years of Mop-Ups before I couldn't last anymore.
I'm not discounting any possibilities and I was really wrong on predictions about the Hackmaster debacle at theSmarks back when that happened so I'm not pinning anything down about this situation.
The comments Keith made in his most recent rant, on his blog and in this thread as well as Hyatte's mention of it in his column point toward something more than just Hyatte leaving and Keith dropping the rants to do news reports. Or the possibility mentioned at Scotsman's forums that they're just switching positions. Neither of those ideas require the secrecy they're holding to. And Hyatte's comments from the 411 forum are just screaming "misdirection." Hyatte's assertion that Scott won't leave Widro seems like it's confirming the news switch, but I went back and checked and the "interesting comments" I referred to in my last post were attributed to Widro. Viceroy (who posted those comments) suggested the split with Widro running the wrestling site, so that colors Hyatte's comments differently.
Granted, all of this could be a planned hullabaloo for something that no one would have given a rat's ass about without some sort of hype.
I enjoy Hyatte's columns despite his constant bashing of LOP.
Maybe this is a sign of things to come on the internet. Wrestling is getting more and more boring and it becomes harder and harder to write about it.
I mean after a while it gets really boring writing "Vince is an idiot...this sucks...why wont they push him...of for christ's sake...who booked this crap".
It be interesting to see Keith doing news reports like the rest of us.
I know one thing's for certain...Barbwire Mike and Leathal Wrestling are going to have a field day with this.

I got so used to using IE by default, I forgot I had netscape on here also. The same thing happened again today, but the site downloaded fine in netscape. That allowed me to see a code error in one of the pop-ups, which probably caused the whole thing....
