My copy of 2k5 was JUST processed today - 8 days after the game was available in stores.
Not only do I not have the game, but I had the privelege of paying MORE for it than I would have if I had just waited and gone to Target this last weekend.
Ugh. Remind me why I do this again?

Ugh. That sucks. I pre-ordered the game two days before it came out. I was able to pick it up on the day it was released. I wonder what the hell happened with your situation.
I don't know how national they are but if you go to buyritegames.com they are an excellent site. I got my 2k5 right on time, and I've dealt with them several times and I've been pretty satisfied, but you'll have to check to make sure they are around you or could get it to you.

Why don't you complain and demand your money back? The company (was it EB?) obviously failed in delivering on the promise of having the game in your hands without a wait. Go tell them off, and maybe they'll offer you some compensation. Or maybe you can at least get your money back and go buy the game for cheaper.

Don't mention the game for cheaper bit though. Just rant and rave about how the game's been out for days and you still don't have it.
I agree that what you got was pretty crappy service, although I've never had a problem with EB when I've ordered from there in the past. I pre-ordered UT2004 Special Edition off there a few months back, I think I had it the day after it was in stores.
Side note - Circuit City is selling NFL 2k5 for 16.99 this week.
I've had both problems from both EBGames and Gamestop. I pre-order from a local store now, because I was sick of getting a game after everybody else when I ordered it before them.
Gravity is a contributing factor in nearly 73 percent of all accidents involving falling objects.
EB Claims they shipped it on 7/21. Their fulfillment link with tracking number says something about Bell, CA yesterday.
I don't know who to blame - the post office, or EB. Either way, I could have been playing this for a week now, had I not given them my money a month earlier than I needed to.
I'm pretty sure I just get screwed by this whole deal.

I don't like buying stuff from EB and other places like that because I just don't trust them with matters like that and anything involving personal information. Plus I'm patient enough to wait for the game to come out.

Well, you paid EB to deliver a product to you on a certain date. If they used an unreliable delivery method, that's on them. If they've got a store nearby, go there and be very loud - they will give you something to shut you up. Works for me every time.
I don't have any free time during their business hours, or else I'd think about this.
It's not worth my effort. I'd rather bitch about it and share my bad experience with hundreds of you than try to get a minimum wage clerk to care about me.
I'll rescind this all if EB emails me - they know where to find me
Other than that, eh. Screw em. I'm done ordering from them.

Yet...if you don't have your voice heard, this can/willc ontinue. I suggest dropping by their store during lunch or whatever...and complaining. Cap it off with a comment that you'll write their head office a letter, and tell them specifically you'll pre-order through their competition, and that you're FINISHED with them.
Perhaps you can return the game for a refund? When you do that, comment on how unhappy you were with the service and what have you; then promptly go somewhere else.
My experience is that EBGames here in Canada is decent for buying used games, but I'll go to the big box stores.
(An interesting side note: When Goldberg joined the WWE last year, the Zellers at the West Edmonton Mall sold copies of WCW Mayhem for $50, simply because he was on the front of it)

Dude, why didn't you choose the in-store pick up option? Order it online and just go to the store to pick it up the day it comes out. But whatever, if you did order it and wanted it delivered, they said the day it arrives instore you will recieve it as well it's your fault for not calling them on it an saying something that day. You have every right to get money back or shipping charges waved whatever they will do for you.
This happened for me when I pre-ordered Mega Man Anniversary (they had a sweet online only pre-order bonus is the only why I did it). I was suppose to have it shipped to my work same day it arrived in store. I tracked it and they dropped the ball and shipped 3 daya later. I complained like any customer would when a store does not follow through with policy/promise and I was refunded shipping charges and also a % discount on my next purchase with a letter from the manager of online support saying sorry and so forth.
