For the last time, Orton is not Rock. There is no sing-a-along with the champ with Orton. There isn't a huge Orton chant going up everytime he is in the ring. His chants last a second and then the fans chant sucks after his name. He is not the future of this company, he doesn't have Rock's natural charisma, he doesn't have Rock's sharp moveset or even his mic skills. He is not even in the same league as Rock, Rock is the NFL and Orton is Midget League.

I love the finish, because this should have been the finish to Rock/HHH's iron match with Rock winning thanks to Taker wiping everyone out. Did they explain why this was no DQ or was just something they added this time. I like Eugene and face and right now HHH/Eugene is something I'm looking forward to than Benoit/Orton which is a shame considering the money, I'm putting down on this.

Palumbo and A-Train were traded to Raw for Rico and Miss Jackie. Probably the only good thing that happened to SmackDown as a result of the draft lottery, and even that's fallen apart because Rico's hurt.

Palumbo was on Heat last night vs Maven.

But that diva crap was SO BAD. Does Kamala need a paycheck that bad? I bet none of those girls even knew who Kamala was. I would of voted for one chick who asked Kamala to touch her "Kim-chee". But seriously, why would anyone vote for any of these girls? I still couldnt tell you who is who if they just lined up and I had to guess their names.

But, the Battle Royal was pretty good. Maven lasted WAY longer than he had any right to. And Regal needs to ditch that outfit of his. God thats horrible. BTW, how fake was the last 2 minutes of the battle royal? Is Jericho THAT DUMB not to go into the middle of the ring? Why would he want to hang on the apron that long? It just felt too campy and rigged.

Excellent Iron Man Match. I didn't mind the ending so much because I was expecting it and they made Benoit look really strong leading up to it. Benoit kicked out of a chairshot, Triple H could not. Triple H tapped to BOTH the Sharpshooter and the Crossface as well.

I really dug the pacing and the storytelling of the match. They brought in the sternum injury from Vengeance which was a good touch. I liked the countout fall because that was a nasty bump Benoit took.

My favourite part of the match was probably when Benoit had that leglock on Triple H and just kept headbutting him.

It was also pretty interesting that Ric Flair and Batista interfered but where was Randy? After all, Triple H talked down to him backstage and said he didn't need any luck.

I dunno. I thought the Battle Royal was pretty damn good and the finish was pretty dramatic.

Oh God, this diva shit is horrible. It is probably among the worst television the WWE/F has EVER aired. And in their decline, they've done a lot of horrible TV.

I thought the Iron Man match was great, and it was cool to see Benoit win. Screwy finish though, oy vey. What I dislike about these televised Iron Man matches, TOO MANY COMMERCIALS! It really annoys me when they cut to commercials during matches, b/c you know...its 60 minutes and I want to tape the whole thing. I was able to tape the match w/o commercial interruptions, and it ended up being 44:35 exactly. I mean, that's a good 15 minutes of match time we missed . Hopefully in the future WWE would be willing to offer the Brock Lesnar/Angle and Benoit/HHH Iron Man matches uncut, with all 60 minutes intact. How about an Iron Man match DVD? MAKE IT HAPPEN WWE!

Ok so now its Orton vs. Chris Benoit at Summerslam for RAW's World Heavyweight Title, on Benoit's home turf of Toronto, Canada. Well the rumors were right about Benoit and Orton winning tonight, and it seems like booking is heading toward Eugene vs. HHH. However, I don't think Orton is quite ready to hold a world title yet, but now it seems inevitable in 20 days.

At the very least, do you think WWE will realize that Benoit/Orton should be the last match on the PPV? Especially with it being in Canada and all. I just pray they don't make a God awful match like JBL/Undertaker the main event, or HHH/Eugene for that matter. The summerslam main event should be Benoit/Orton.

Let's see... I sat around anxiously through goddamned tennis on TSN, only to discover Divas. Yay! Pissbreak! I voted for Tracie (Afro Girl), simply because she'll win based upon the fact that there are no black female faces. They already have Jazz (Evil Black Girl), Trish & Molly (Evil White Girl) and Stacy, Victoria & Lita (White Face). Plus, the afro's cool. Battle Royale was good. The net spoilers sorta hurt my enjoyment, but I love Randy Orton so I don't care. If anybody can pull a great match out of him, it's Benoit. I LOVED Kamala. That ruled. I LOVED the Iron Man Match. They were able to put Benoit AND Trips over huge. I loved that Benoit's working over the leg came into play, as did Triple H working over Benoit's chest. Plus, it seems to eventually lead to a definative 1-on-1 match inside some manner of cellular or cage structure to prevent outside interference. I loved the "You tossed me, you bastard!" moment between Edge & Jericho. Shades of gray rule!

All-in-all, outstanding RAW outside of the Pissbreak Search.

I agree, the Kamala bit was funny at first but they wore it out. Kamala being gone for over a decade, where was Slick? It would have been funnier if the women had to seduce Pat Patterson.

"In case there was any doubt the fix is in on Divasearch, tonight killed it. Mrs. Shem pointed out that Carmella isn't even bothering to try and showed all the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old forced to perform for guests."

Ok, so I admit my ignorance and confusion with these things. If the contest is indeed rigged, why are the other girls still participating? Do they not know they have been set up to fail, even if people call and vote for them? Or do they know they won't win, and yet still subject themselves to humiliation because of some desire to be on TV at any cost, or a contract they signed, or what?

Perhaps I am thinking too much, but these girls are doing a bit on live TV for the next two months. Do none of them any way to read reviews of the segments, they don't have any news sources from week to week to learn that it is a fix?

I'm trying to understand how, if say the wrestling fan base voted overwhelmingly for Tracie (afro girl), the WWE wouldn't sign her instead of Carmella, or perhaps sign them both. I somehow find it hard to believe that the other 8 girls are competing for absolutely nothing.

I really only caught the latter half of the Iron Man match, but what I saw of it was *****. When RAW was at its most rock-bottom, I remember seeing a poster say that the reason we sit through the crap that the WWE often gives us (like, for example, the Diva Search), is because every now and again, almost by accident, they do something brilliant. Or words to that effect. And I must say, I don't mind the outside interference. Was Foley's first title win clean? Not wholly, but who cares? It was a momentous moment, and for me at least, so was the final 3-count tonight. I really hope they end the Benoit/HHH feud now, because I can't see much of anything beating it. Maybe Hell in the Cell, but HHH just recently had a HitC with Michaels, and a plain old cage seems almost anticlimactic after the Iron Man. Plus, at least to me that's what this felt like, an end of one storyline and the beginning of another. I'm not saying they won't fight again, but hopefully not for awhile. I'd say at least until Wrestlemania XXI, but then, WWE'll probably do another match the PPV after Summerslam.

Hell, I dunno. All I know is I marked out like crazy over this match, and that doesn't happen to me often. Bravo, HHH, for having the balls to lie down, Benoit, for being the baddest motherfucker on the planet, and WWE, for getting it right for once.

Maybe its just me but I thought the finish of the battle royale was awesome and Y2J had me believing he was going to win for about a second at the end. As far as the Iron Man match goes I think an hour Broadway would have been better my self as a match with an exact finish time kinda lacks the drama. Also who else was hoping that the ref would count to three just as time expired I think that would have been a neat little touch. Overall you cant complain about a 60 minute match on free TV good work to all involved.

I *was* enjoying the hell out of that Iron Man match, until my VCR stopped recording with about 6 minutes left. Damn it, why can't WWE end Raw at 11:05 like it says on the cable programmer, so that I could have seen the ending to the match. Oh well, I suppose I can always find a torrent of this episode somewhere...

I liked the rest of the show. I wonder if they're going to do the same overly long competition thingy followed by parading them in bikinis thing every week.

I thought of the line "Why don't you show me why they call you the Ugandan giant?" during that scene.

The Diva Search thing with Kamala was actually funny the first time. After that, bah. I had a lot of fun imitating Kamala, though. “Bleh! Bahahawaha!”-- and patting my belly and such.

The thing would've been much funnier if it had been, y'know, a different former WWE Superstar every time. Heck, why not make each of them a WrestleCrapper? That's entertainment.

The battle royal was OK. I was pleased and surprised that Edge didn't win it. I actually think Randy Orton deserves a chance to see what he can do in the main-event of a PPV-- he's at least more interesting to me than Edge is. Woulda liked to see Jericho win it, but I was overall OK with the Orton winning it. But dammit, now's not the time to give him the World Title.

The Iron Man match was outstanding. I wish they could have achieved the same result (Benoit winning) without feeling the need to do a massive clusterfuck at the end, but hey. Benoit's still the champion! That works for me. And it was still one hell of a match.

So, for SummerSlam on the RAW side of things, we've got Chris Benoit defending the World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton, and Triple H likely facing Eugene. Not a bad start.

The Battle Royal was STUPENDOUS. I loved that Edge and Jericho double-teamed half the entrants out then when Edge was on the apron, Jericho eliminated him..."Sorry. I had to do it," says Jericho. I liked the Kane-Batista standoff (isn't that the second Battle Royal in a row they've done that?) and Batista is quickly becoming my most unlikely favorite wrestler. The first part with Jericho and Orton together was a bit of a train wreck, but they got past that and ended it quite nicely.

I actually missed the first sixteen minutes of the Ironman match as the Diva crap got me SO turned off I decided to enter Purdue's roster on NCAA 2005 instead of watch.

My only beef with the Ironman match: Did I really just watch EUGENE take out Evolution three-on-one? Couldn't they have had Eugene turn the tide for a minute then start to get beat down so Benoit could be the big hero instead of Eugene? That sort of jumped into the ol' suspension of disbelief for a minute there.

Thoughts after watching my tape:

-Entrance: Eugene in, different Bischoff shot than before, more Benoit and still a shot of The Rock.
-Battle Royal Duds: Robert Conway (blue trunks), Sylvain Grenier (blue trunks), Rodney Mack (black trunks), A-Train (black trunks), Maven (black "M" trunks), Rosey (black & red/blue costume), Hurricane (black & green pants), Tyson Tomko (black trunks), Rhyno (black & orange singlet), William Regal (blue & red singlet), Tajiri (black pants with yellow trim), Chuck Palumbo (grey pants), Val Venis (purple trunks), Matt Hardy (red pants), Kane (red & black pants), Chris Jericho (cyan/teal pants), Edge (grey pants), Ric Flair (black trunks), Batista (black & gold trunks), Randy Orton (red & black trunks) & Steven Richards (yellow trunks). I count...21 wrestlers. Fan-tastic. Only Kane, Edge, Evolution, Matt Hardy & Jericho had entrances. Nuts, eh?

I thought the Kamala scene was very funny. It made the time it took to do the thing bearable. Kamala sure seemed to enjoy that one who started shakin her booty for him.

I missed most of the Iron Man match cuz Clinton was on and seemed interesting. I knew the match would come down to the end anyway, I'm just surprised it didn't go into overtime. What I saw of it was good, but not great.

The rumble was a cool way to start Raw. I guess Edge has his reason to turn heal now.

Well, that's the thing: if you want to fix it, you only tell ONE person, and not any of the others. You can't guarantee that the other girls will cooperate if they know it's fixed. After all, what happens if they balk and say that they won't pretend anymore unless they get more money? So, if you're going to fix it, you'd at most tell the girl who's going to win. (Better yet, don't tell her, and make her work for the fixed prize.) Telling her is only a necessary thing if she won't participate in the competition at all without a guaranteed win. But, really, the other girls would not and should not know. If you fix it and tell one person, then only one person gets rewarded. If you fix it and tell ten people, then you have to pay all of them, because then they're no longer satisfied by competing for the possibility of the reward, and all that TV exposure just seems like a poor consolation prize.

Perhaps I am thinking too much, but these girls are doing a bit on live TV for the next two months. Do none of them any way to read reviews of the segments, they don't have any news sources from week to week to learn that it is a fix?

Up until now they have demonstrated a complete ignorance about wrestling and wrestling divas. They seem totally lost in the wrestling environment. Given that, how would they know the first thing about reading reviews of their work? A google for "Diva Search" brings up the WWE site first. After that, it brings up sites that strike chords with "IWC" people. But do you think a wannabe diva is going to take seriously anything from the sites that also show up on the search results? Sites with bad designs? Or sites with good designs and "dorky wrestling internet fans" writing for them?

If reality TV has taught us anything, it's that competing for absolutely nothing is something that lots of people are willing to do, because most of them don't win anything at all. What they get to do is appear on TV. And that seems, in the end, to satisfy plenty.

When I saw that girl just standing there doing nothing for her whole segment, I didn't think "Wow, she's so confident that she's not even putting out the effort to smile, or even to swing her arms when she walks" I just thought "Wow, she's the most retarded one"

I guess I went with the 'simplest solution is the most likely' theory. I just can't see her being part of some secret plan to outsmart everyone else.

Late Random Raw thoughts:

-The battle royal was nicely done. Good lord, Regal's tights have to be among the top 3 worst of all time. Nice to see Rodney Mack is alive; JR and Lawler had a blast announcing his return.

-Alright, I could handle the diva search when it's one little segment. But to have two back-to-back full segments devoted to them...wow. Do any of the chicks even know who the hell Kamala is? I seriously doubt it. One bitch said he was Hawaiin. Good lord...I was just sitting there, honestly just losing my mind...I thought how absolutely pointless this is. And I like Kamala as much as the next guy, but seeing him doing the same "Muummahdua ooohaa" to every chick just got old. Dinsmore was in the back, why not have him dress up as Doink again? Patterson & Brisco?

-And if that's not enough filler we got a whole segment about the Democratic National Convention. I-I-I'm sorry is this wrestling? I'm seeing Peter Jennings, Jimmy Carter, Nine divas, Uncle Fester...where were the wrestlers?

-Ironman match was a bit slow at first, but it did pick up the pace in the end. Benoit's suicide dive looked nice. Overall a great match, but I'd have to have it behind HBK/Hart and Rock/HHH on the all-time Ironman list...probably tied with Angle/Lesnar.

Overall...an up & down show.
