A lot of buzz around Lesnar's debut, and rightfully so, the guy is impressive. Absolutley freakish strength, and they say he has solid ring skills. The way the WWF is pushing him is an unstoppable monster. Could they be planning a Goldberg type undefeated streak push? Would that even work? I didnt watch WCW, but Ive read about it and the fans ate that shit up with a spoon, and Goldberg became the one thing WCW did right other than the NWO (in the beginning anyway). But anyway, I know the net fans wouldnt like it but I think the casual fans would love it. Could it work? I think it could, maybe not one as long as Goldberg's, (how long was it anyway?) but it would be cool to see him run right over some people. Just an idea...OK im done.
The thing that made the Goldberg streak in the WCW work was that he was a monster face going up against monster heels (the NWO). That is why the fans ate it up, it was something to cheer about in the midst of NWO domination. I don't think Lesnar as a heel would go over with a huge winning streak.
A hyped-up winning streak will turn Lesnar into a de-facto face. And Lesnar needs to be a heel. The man gives me friggin nightmares, with that "roll my shoulders back and make a monster face" thing he does.
I think it would be cool if he lost like every match until Backlash by dq/countout. Like he doesn't want to play nice with Flair, so he just destroys his opponent and walks away, or powerbombs them on chairs to draw the dq or some such. Yeah, and so then he gets an no-dq match at Backlash with someone who's over yet expendable and the right size for getting massacred.
Anybody know if Goldberg will be signing any time in the near future ? I read somewhere , I don't remember where though , that the WWF had been in contact with him recently and he expressed a strong interest in signing . ( this might have been just a rumor , like I said , I don't remember where I read it )
I got to thinking after I seen this thread topic that if he IS close to signing , then yeah , go ahead and give Lesnar a winning streak . Feed him a string of jobbers of course , and then the announce team could start selling the streak and start making comparisons to the Goldberg streak .Then when he starts closing in on Goldberg's record , that's when " Who's Next " could make his debut .
I guess it's the wannabe booker coming out in me , but wouldn't that make for a hellava angle . I know even I'd mark out for a match like that , and I never cared for Goldberg myself , but seeing those two monsters in a match would be a sight to see .
Just a thought .

The thing that sets Brock apart from Goldberg is that Lesnar can actually work a match, and has far more range and athleticism and agility than Goldberg ever did.
Lesnar, remember, is a WRESTLER. Goldberg was just a big fucking dude with muscles... they had to make him a killer, because he couldn't sell for shit, or do any moves. And his conditioning was so crappy that he couldn't work longer than five minutes.
Well, I don't know if I like the way Brock is bring brought in. Hopefully Monday Paul will actually say something about Brock because random run-ins get old very fast. Very fast. I assume he is going to have a few squah matches and then get fed to someone. Chris Benoit perhaps?

Can someone more familiar with the WCW at the end tell me when Sid started his run-in and powerbomb everyone phase? I know this was where Chris almost lost it in his recaps (from some other quotes I've seen) with the F bomb...
Is this Brock thing different than that was? I want to read the old recaps for comparison..
If there's a difference, I think the key would be in what's being baited and switched. In WCW we trade a promising cruiserweight match for crappy Sid delivering crappy powerbombs followed by crappy interviews leading to a crappy blowoff match with crappy Goldberg. Here we trade a match between Rikishi and Regal or some stupid hardcore match involving Maven for some prime choice Brock Lesnar ultraviolence.

Not only that Sid was also building his 'streak' just pinning these guys. Basically a 7 minute match that was really getting going, out comes Sid, powerbombs for all, cheap pins, up goes the 'streak'. I think that they killed the angle early due to it's crappiness. His 'streak' was suppossed to reach Goldberg's.
If Lesnar is a hell, will they let him do the shooting star press? I don't know people will boo him if he does it. Perhaps that's why they gave him the inverted TKO move.

I said it in another thread, I'll say it here too.
Heyman needs to get WWF brass to let him bring Sean O'Haire into a 'stable' with Lesnar.
Lesnar + O'Haire = INSTANT TAG TEAM CHAMP CONTENDERS.
I mean, sheesh, O'Haire's as scary looking as they come - he's huge, he's got that evil face/goatee thing working for him, and for God's sake, he can jump from power wrestling to Jeff Hardy's moveset at will. And Lesnar ... Well, I mean, c'mon - the guy deadlifted Rikishi the other day, AND he can do a Shooting Star Press? Damn.

Damn, that is a great idea. That would be one of the sacriest teams in the WWF. But...they need some competition other than The Outsiders. Because Hall & Nash will NOT be selling for the 2 rookies. And you know this...man!

I think Lesnar already has a tag partner. Shelton Benjamin - I think his name is. He's another one of those OVW guys that Ross loves to pimp in his column on WWF.com.
Brock still looks like a cross between Sid and Scott Steiner to me though. Hopefully he's not as fragile as those two.
Yeah, I know about Sheldon Benjamin - he's supposed to be another man-beast himself. Stick him in a stable with O'Haire and Lesnar - with Heyman as a mouthpiece, they'd go places.
It could be like the Natural Born Thrillers in WCW - only, well, you know, good. :)

That is one hell of a report over and beyond (eg 7:10-7:12 lol) a normal in-person report... 8:17 That guy squashes Trish in that video game in one minute, what an idiot.
