I was going to read through the Wrestling folder when I accidentally hit the < for Mark Forum Read instead of the > for Read New Posts. (There were more than 100 new ones. Ordinarily I'd have hit the (X new) link.)

Can you put in an Undo for that? It's not the first time I've done it and it typically happens after I've spent a couple of days away from the board.

There isn't an easy way to do that. I'll have to think about what it would take to do this. There are lots of commands that you could do this with.

Perhaps I could add a field to the mark forum read area that would hold the last value - I'll have to see what this would take and if I'll have time to look into it this week.

Just introduce a global undo table for anything that you do that hits the database. That way, you could undo a "mark read", a "new thread", "update settings", whatever. Slap an "undo" link in the header at the top (which swaps to "redo" once you've clicked it), and filter all SQL update/inserts through an undo logger function.

Or ask me to do something like that when I'm bored.

Oh, I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to infer that you might be poverty stricken. Should I revise my statement to make it clear that you have way more money than brains?

I don't want to have to manage a transaction log for the entire site. I think the only action that we would need to undo would be the mark read - which could be managed pretty easily from the second table.

I will bring it up with you at some point though - I want to make sure that you are proposing what I think you are proposing.
