Thanks to the events of last week, we get a revised version of the opening. Nicely done, as it got to the point of intoducing Tim and Ingrid (and at this point I was disappointed) but then inserted "until Ingrid figured it out" (thus putting a smile on my face). Ingrid has been added as the 12th TV set during the actor introductions as well. This was a nice touch until I realized that every bumper going into commercial was still Tim and Ingrid, after they used a new one last week immediately after the reveal. They'll probably fix this for the DVD later when it gets mentioned on the official blog. I'm just nitpicking here...

The show opens with a vote as to who is the least compatible with Austin and Piper. Amanda thinks this is designed to make things more confrontational. Eleanor and Gerald are chosen and so they're granted alone time with Austin and Piper. Eleanor is thrilled.

Kudos to those guessing that the plane flying overhead was from Bryce. The message "P - Forgive me? - B" really creeped Amanda and Tim out. Ingrid mentions Big Brother, so I wonder if the producers asked her to toss that in to make her character seem a little more like her real self. Piper had second thoughts about getting rid of Bryce, thinking it was sweet. This shouldn't be the end of Bryce's involvement (I hope). More on my theory why later.

This week's falcon twist is cut short by a producer telling Ingrid that her grandfather died (actually it was the grandmother, but they corrected it to grandfather based on what Ingrid has said earlier on the show). This leads to Austin asking Eleanor if she would give up her alone time so that he can console Ingrid himself. She does and gets kudos from Tim and Amanda.

Our game for the week has 3 phases. Three pairs from the house will take on a pair of models in each phase for a trip. They need someone to step out and be a cheerleader since we have 7 contestants. Gerald bows out since he's already going to Utah (and Tim gives him big props for that) and does a funny job with the pom-poms. In the first game, Eleanor and Ingrid take on the models in a contest to pop heart-shaped water balloons attached to each other. our girls win big and Eleanor is very proud in her interview. In the second phase it's a relay race where TJ and Amanda pair up to flick a tongue-shaped switch attached to a big pair of plastic lips (held in Piper/Austin's lower abs, of course) to see if they can flip the switch more than the models. By a 74-72 margin, they lose. In the rubber match, Tim is hooked up to a monitor and his heart rate is measured. Cammy is given 60 seconds to do whatever she can to make his heart rate rise. The DVD will be helpful here, because Cammy goes off on a very vivid dirty talking spree that gets bleeped almost as bad as that Taz interview in ECW some years back, then lapdances him. The models are able to overcome the 18 BPM increase that Tim pulled off to win the trips. Afterward, a severely blurred shot of the models making out was shown and that too may or may not be uncensored for the DVD.

Well, last week it was the men who got to meet Piper's stern father and less than prudish mother. This week, the ladies get the same treatment with Austin's very uptight mother and, ahem, very less than prudish father. The rub: it's the same actors playing the parts. I'm guessing that there's going to be something during the reveal where the parents are involved again and confusion ensues.

The whole reason for Austin's parents' visit was to set up the Porked and Beans video. Like the men, each lady had a task to perform at dinner. Cammy had to get Austin's mom to take a body shot from her navel. Eleanor had to sit on Austin's dad's lap and call him Daddy. Ingrid had to use the word "fellatio" 3 times in a sentence. Amanda had to get Austin's dad to tell about when he lost his virginity.

Ingrid, in an interview, said she had the easiest job of the bunch. She just started talking about Italian painters and in no time at all, she had completed her task. Amanda seemed to be partly impressed, partly in shock that worked out as well as it did. Eleanor was able to get Austin to give up his chair between his parents and in a funny bit, acted flustered, bent over, backed up to his dad and mentioned "Daddy". She gets credit for that. Cammy, just out of the blue, suggested taking shots (and the mother wanted to know "take a shot at what?") and was able to get both the father and Amanda to take body shots. I don't know if Amanda is much of a drinker, but she had a very vivid reaction to the drink. As conversation heated up, we find out that Austin's father would rather be having an orgy at dinner ("If it wasn't for AIDS, what do you think we'd be doing now? Cammy, tell me.") and his back-and-forth with the mother elicits him telling that she wasn't his first and ding, ding, ding, Amanda's task is completed. She looked quite relieved at that one.

Since Cammy is the only one who didn't complete her task, the Porked and Beans video aired. Amanda immediately went back to Cammy and held her. Everyone did a good job of not breaking out into laughter here, although at one point Amanda hugged Cammy and Cammy smiled where Amanda couldn't see it. She gets some vindication for the various mistakes that have alot of people thinking she's not a good actress. At the end, Ingrid helpfully tells Cammy that they won't be able to air the video during the show because it's too racy... :-)

On to the eviction ceremony, where not only have the speeches been pulled back to the realm of believability, but both Cammy and Austin decline to make speeches. Amanda and Eleanor are picked. For the final pearl necklace, Cammy gets the nod and Ingrid is sent packing. A strained exchange leads to her leaving. Austin tells the group that he didn't want to say this in front of Ingrid, but he called her parents so her could make a donation to a charity and ended up talking to her grandfather. She's a liar and had to go.

Amanda, choked up, tells Austin that Ingrid's mother's parents live with them so her father's dad must have died. The cast makes a quick recovery and says that since Ingrid didn't deny anything, Austin had her pegged anyway. This was a nice touch of drama leading into the preview for next week when...

Somebody dies.

This one blew me away that they were crossing that line, but with a little more thought, it's probably either Montecore or Everett (I'm leaning toward Everett). They've got 4 shows to go (if the 10th episode is a post-show interview like last time) and 6 suitors left. Assuming that there will be two men and two women in the finals, they have to have a couple shows with no eviction ceremony. Not sure what they're aiming for as the finale.

As for Everett, I can see Bryce having a Fatal Attraction moment and without Montecore, we have no more falcon twists. If they kill off a suitor, then it's really running the risk of scarring Tim and Amanda, as they're both deeply into the ruse now.

If they've actually dumped Ingrid from the cast, then the whole "get her to play too" thing was a waste. Unless they're bringing her back somehow. (eg. The guy insists to the producers that he gets a "do over". Something.) She's the only reason I've watched any of this one. (Well, OK... Montecore, too.)

I was hoping they'd get rid of Cammy, since they've pretty much gone as far with her character as they could.

On reflection, though -- Ingrid was, at this point, an "extra" character. If they have plans already written for the others, there's no choice but to get rid of Ingrid.

In other news, I only figured out a few days ago that Montecore is (apparently) named after the tiger that mauled Roy. Huh.

Maybe Austin will have his do-over, give Ingrid the Sensitive gal's necklace and then the Sensitive gal will commit suicide because she never got her alone time.

Tim already thinks she's over the edge like Bryce, and it would fit her character in a way.

There's no way they would have played up the whole Ingrid story only to boot her two days later.

She'll be back...

Tim is a bartender here in DC and the Post revealed that he is hosting JS2 parties in his bar Tuesday nights. I'm gonna try to get there for next Tuesday and see if he'll spill some spoilers for future shows. (If I can get close to him. I bet he's a pretty popular guy right about now. Supposedly, Ingrid and the new gal Amanda were there last night. And I missed it. Grrr.)

I thoght about the same thing when I read the Post. But I figure why screw up the ride? Besides, he may not be able to tell you due to contractural oblugations.

What's disturbing about Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 is that both are classic propaganda. Events are shown out of order, suggesting conspiracy by confusing audiences about the sequence of events; events are shown out of context, edited to create an appearance differing from actual events; scenes of horror are intermixed with scenes of normalcy, suggesting all is horror; viewers are given no way of knowing what is fact, what is opinion, and what is made up.

The show kind of lost me this week, way too over the top with the gratuitous games. Sure JS1 had some risque stuff, but there's always seemed to have some purpose and heart to it... This week is like doing it for the sake of doing it. With the exception of Gerald playing up as a cheerleader, I don't really see the purpose of this. Okay the first game was kind of nice but the second game was just uncomfortable viewing and the third game was absurd.

Speaking of absurd that Porked and Beans video was just that, the chef with moustache was ridiculous but I did laugh out loud. Man Ingrid was holding it in. Amanda seemed sweet, as she seemed really concerned and went over Cammy as the video played... I did kind of freak out when I saw the same actors who played Piper's parents played Austin's. I kind of got into that idea quickly. Talk about uncomfortable dinner, wow the dad is a piece of work. I actually have been in that situation(not as over the top) but in a situation as someone way too flirtatious while drunk. Uncomfortable indeed. The mom played it well as she didn't go over the top but looks like she's holding in her embarrassment and crying on the inside. The dad even though over the top played it well as well.

Kick Ingrid out, noooooooo! She's the best. Get rid of Cammy as her character is as far as it can go, I'm not even interested in what she can bring to the table now. I think Ingrid vs. Eleanor, with Amanda in the middle would be very interesting. We know Eleanor is an emotional wreck who wants to be spend time with Austin and thinks everyone is conspiring against her and then Ingrid gets special treatment because her grand-dad and having Amanda in the middle trying to be peace maker & maybe even snap at Eleanor for being such a baby... Or you could turn Ingrid heel and have her just be "emotional" in front of Austin but when he's not around her true feelings of "Ah I was never really close to my grand-dad anyways". I think that would be heelish funny.

Wow Zeruel that idea is a bit too over the top even for this show LoL, that would make Amanda way too turned off to even participate anymore... I think HairRaiser might be on to something by having the "parents" be involved at the end. Which I would guess there would be some sort of Cammy-Austin Dad & TJ-Piper Mom connection thing going. Which would mean two of my least favorite people on the show stayed to the end. Sigh, Oh well.

Odd that the JS2 people went ahead & leaked their own spoiler for who dies. (If you haven't seen it, & don't want to be spoiled, avoid TiVo & similar episode guides!)

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Once you publish the episode title of "Requium for a Frog", I'm pretty sure you've tipped the spoiler! Maybe they had parents concerned about how to prepare their children -- which is intrinsically pretty scary all on its own!

I'm Renegade Raine and I approve this message:

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DIDN'T SEE THE SHOW THIS WEEK!

Supposedly, when Austin called Ingrid's house, he talked to the grandfather that DIDN'T die. So, because of his misunderstanding, he requested that Ingrid have another chance. So then, Ingrid was back on the show.

A presidential election should be used to elect the best candidate for a country, right?
Then do what I'm doing this fall and use the power of the write-in vote to vote for an apple pie.
Hell, it will probably get more votes than the Green Party anyways.

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

"I will blow your ass out." (drjayphd)

If there was any doubt that this was the greatest thing going, this ep probably erased them altogether. Accidentally left the TV muted during the exercise segment, so I don't know what was going on there, but Cammy trying to get the threesome going with the Real Dolls was hilarious. And Eleanor trumped Cammy when it comes to facial expressions behind Amanda's back BY FAR.
