Eugene has no originality. All he does is steal other peoples moves and never can come up with his own.

Evolution is REAL TOUGH! Picking on a retard. Beating on the slow guy. They're real cool now /sarcasm

This diva search sucks. They waste way too much air time on it. Couldn't this be reserved for Sunday mornings?

Flair's ear looked like it hurt a bit, with the blood and all.

All in all, a good show.

The Lita/Kane segment was actually really good. Someone FINALLY realized that Lita needed to have some balls and stand up for herself.

Where the hell was Edge during the beatdown? It was surprising he wasn't there. It may be telling that the crowd wasn't calling for him.

I'm torn between my hate of seeing the Diva search on my TV and my love for seeing Carmella DeCesare on my TV.

Not a terrible RAW, but nothing super.

I'm wondering if the whole Flair/Hurricane backstage vignette was some possible foreshadowing to Helms dropping the superhero gimmick (I know Spiff has his fingers crossed) ...

Looks like Lita took a crash course acting class as she was better this week.

I'm really starting to like the idea of the Rhyno & Tajiri team. I don't really know why, but I dig it.

Is Eugene the first person in the last 7 years to no sell the Pedigree?
Nice wrestling between Dinsmore and Benoit.
Hurricane/Flair was a nice match, but considering storylines and how low on the totem pole Hurricane is, Flair/Regal might have been a better choice.
Diva search crap and Lita crap helped me get through the Flair book quicker.
Is Edge hinting finally turning heel by using the ropes for victory?
Has Kane actually won a match since he took out Michaels?
Tomko vs. Maven? What, were they trying to make up a dark match for OVW?
Outside the box thought: Edge vs. Shelton at SummerSlam for the I-C Title. They have gone face vs. face at SummerSlam for this title before. Plus, that could lead to:
Eugene/Benoit/Regal ='s 3. Jericho really has nothing better to do. Make him 4. Next PPV is a joint promotion. Evolution has 4 men. Bring a second ring to Toronto. WarGames:The Match Beyond. This allows them to have a major match, and still save Benoit/Trip for the next stand alone PPV.
And, a Happy 2nd Anniversary to Eric Bischoff. Did anyone actually think he would last 6 months, let alone 2 years?

While I'm glad Randy Orton's I-C Title reign is over (just so I know he won't be the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history-- at least on his first reign), I think it was wasted giving it to Edge. Man, Edge just isn't interesting anymore. They should've saved it for Shelton Benjamin. Edge does nothing for the I-C Title.

In any case... nice to see that they're apparently serious about pushing Rhyno and Tajiri as a tag-team. Those guys need something to do anyway, and the tag-team division needs good duos. I hope Rhyno and Tajiri can win the tag-team titles before long-- although I won't root for it to happen as much as I rooted for Booker T and Goldust a couple years back. Man, that was an entertaining team.

I always get nervous whenever Chris Benoit defends the World Heavyweight Title. I had my doubts-- surely, WWE couldn't possibly be stupid enough to give the belt to Eugene, right? Don't get me wrong, I think Eugene's massively entertaining, and a good wrestler, but Benoit would have gone down in history as “the guy who lost the World Title belt to a retarded dude”-- not exactly the legacy I had in mind for him. But anyhoo, Benoit retains, Eugene gets beat down by Evolution, and maybe now it'll be drilled into Eugene's head that Triple H is not his friend.

I'd like to see a Triple H/Eugene match at SummerSlam-- and a new World Title contender as well. Randy Orton, actually, might be a good fit there.

OK, so who's the #1 contender to the Women's Title? Nidia won the contract-on-a-pole match, but Victoria won a #1 contenders' match with Molly at Vengeance. Please tell me we're not gonna have another stupid four-way match.

Faces look like pussies whenever they tap out. Hurricane looked like a pretty big pussy tonight as a result. I mean, granted he tapped out to Ric Flair's figure-four leglock, but how does this help him again?

I liked that Kane got PUNK'D (verbally speaking) by Lita and Chris Jericho. Ha! I knew that Jericho would say something that'd make Kane turn around, and I was waiting for it to drop. But... now what for Y2J?

[Edit: I was teasin' you guys for the fact that 37 minutes after RAW, there were only two posts in this thread... but in the time it took me to write this, there were like six more posts. I take it back, I love you guys. In a rugged, manly way, that is.]

That WAS weird. I missed the first half hour so I assumed maybe he was beaten up during a match or something, but I guess not. It would have added to his mission to take down Evolution, but they do have to get a good beatdown in so I guess it makes enough sense. In a roundabout fashion anyway.

What I saw was alright. Tajiri/Rhyno v. La Resistance sounds like a fine idea to me. I liked the Rhyno/Conway match.

I find it interesting that the three people that have managed to really get under Kane's skin or get one over on him since late last year are Undertaker, Shane McMahon and Lita. Jericho/Kane was okay. Jericho might be the most over face on the roster.

Flair/Hurricane was neat, it was too bad the crowd wasn't too into it. Not that they've been given any reason to care about Hurricane. I was hoping the match would be the end of the Hurricane character. Maybe they'll go on with it.

Benoit/Eugene was a fine match with a couple great moments, the best being Eugene getting the crossface on Benoit out of nowhere. The beatdown was well-done and Evolution looked good and menacing coming down to kill Eugene.

A Benoit/Eugene/Regal/Edge v. Evolution Raw main would be cool, even though they already did one of those leading up to Backlash and the six-man elimination just recently. I just hope Regal gets a match with Flair, Orton or Batista for Summerslam.

That was a nice exploder-fallaway-suplex-thingy Tomko pulled off. Didn't know he had it in him

I wasn't even honestly minding the Divas until they opened their mouths. By god, they were auditory death on a stick. Lita summoning the demonic voice of Chyna wasn't much better

And.....HHH has turned on Eugene. Was expecting them to drag it out a bit longer, but eh

Random Raw thoughts:

Holy crap! Lita actually delivers half-decent promo. There are early reports of frost in Hell.

I, too, have my fingers crossed in the hopes that Helms will drop the superhero gimmick. In his stand-off backstage with Flair, he actually dropped his character for a moment when he said, "Because I want to make people happy." Make me happy, Greg, and come up with a fresh gimmick.

In the "Loss of innocence" category, I'm interested to see how tonight's beatdown will affect Eugene's direction.

Question: Is Tajiri there to make Rhyno more interesting? Or is Rhyno there to make Tajiri less interesting?

None of the cootchies they paraded around from the Diva search tonight have any mic skills whatsoever. Any of them could do the job, if they were given a "cute, but mute" character to play. Personally, I'd rather they hired a new female wrestler to flesh out that division.

I was expecting more clips and recap from the PPV last night... the show tonight seemsed a little light on recap, didn't it?

Oh yeah, Tomko wrestled someone tonight. I have nothing to say about this. I think I just spaced out for the whole match, waiting for something to interest me.

A few thoughts on what I thought was a really good Raw...

Flair used Hurricane's real name! Is he going to kill himself for exposing the business?

With all the "controversy" surrounding Flair and how he seemingly hates Foley, I find it ironic that Ric attempted to rip his own ear off, presumably so he could be more like the Hardcore Legend.

Tomko finished off Maven with a Big Boot. Does that mean he's the official Test Stand-In for the next year?

Matt Hardy writes an article bashing the IWC for making fun of Lita's acting ability, then Lita actually shows some? Coincidence? I think not.

Chris Jericho is the Undisputed Musical Chairs Champion? I can deal with that, as long as the title gets defended, unlike some titles around here *coughStacyTitlecough*

Nidia got her title shot already. Trish said that we she was ready, she would give Nidia the shot. Then Trish nailed Nidia with her cast, ordered the referee to start the match, and pinned her.

Benoit actually remains champ for over 4 months. Color me surprised, but happy as well.

Anyway, for the guy that said he's going to take Evolution apart, Edge was pretty absent from helping out his buddies tonight who got unmercifully beat down. I mean, if Edge says he's going to be the guy to take down Evolution, shouldn't he try to prevent or curb them from destroying his fellow face peers? Or maybe Edge's absence and his cheating in his opening match with Batista is a sign of him going heel again. Something which was kind of teased but nothing came of it a few weeks ago. I think a Benoit/Edge match for the world title at Summerslam would be cool, but I doubt it will go down that way.

Really dug the Flair promo with the Hurricane. It was actually nice for Flair to look strong for once and beat an opponent. Because I mean lately, Flair's almost come off as a joke and a parody of his former glory (ie the crap with Eugene last night).

For the love of God, end the Eugene stuff now. I didn't mind when Eugene was doing his thing with Regal and winning some matches, but putting him so high up this quickly and the storylines are just so annoying. Its bad enough he had to stink up what was turning out to be a pretty good main event last night with his retarded antics. I'm just not liking that Eugene is now the central character of all this and not Chris Benoit and his world title. Bullshit.

But overall, decent show tonight. Good match with Edge and Batista, Flair and Hurricane, and even Jericho got some goodness out of Kane despite a stupid DQ finish.

Damn you redsoxnation! Damn you straight to hell! lol. Only because I watched Joe Schmo 2 did you beat me to the punch in requesting a War Games at SummerSlam between Evolution and Eugene/Benoit/Regal/partner (although I would have assumed Edge, but Jericho works too).

As soon as the beatdown started that match came to mind. While we'll probably simply see a six-man tag match on next week's Raw, it would still be cool to see WWE bring War Games out of mothballs for SummerSlam and get a nice four-on-four slobberknocker going on. If nothing else, it could allow HHH a win over Benoit to fuel that one-on-one encounter you pitch for their next standalone.

Wow, Jericho says something funny AND Lita looks less masculine than Matt Hardy and delivers a monologue???

Seriously, Jericho's "Here at RAW, we don't solve our personal problems in private..." was the most chuckle-inducing thing he's said in years.

Unlikely as Vince can't copyright the name "Wargames". I guess he could add an extra "r" to make it xtreme or something. An elimination chamber is more likely anyway.

Yeah, was it just me, or did it sound like they finally let Jericho prepare his own material instead of having one of their writing staff clowns slap something together for him? He hasn't been that funny in ages. Maybe they got a look at Jericho when he's really on when they were putting those 1998 matches up with the VOD on their PPV site.

Raw was good tonight, if a tad directionless. SummerSlam's a big show, I really hoped they set the wheels in motion for some big matches on that show, even if it is still five weeks or so away.

On Edge: Does using the ropes to beat Batista + failing to save the faces at the end of the show despite supposedly being out to bring down Evolution + the crowd being against him at Vengeance = a heel turn in the not too distant future?

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Got back from work and caught the last 45 minutes of RAW. Hurricane/Flair was okayish, Benoit/Eugene was really good. Benoit can work wonders with anybody who can wrestle to any degree, and Dinsmore has good skills. I liked how they built up Eugene as insane but tough, and Benoit as tough and smart. Benoit lasted as long in the Crossface as anybody else has...probably because he knows how to counter it.

Also, Canadians holding the World/WWE Championship:
248 Days: Bret Hart (WWF) [WrestleMania X to Survivor Series '94]
174 Days: Bret Hart (WWF) [Saskatoon House Show to WrestleMania IX]
133 Days: Bret Hart (WWF) [Survivor Series '95 to WrestleMania XII]
*120+ Days: Chris Benoit (World) [WrestleMania XX to Present]
98 Days: Bret Hart (WWF) [SummerSlam to Survivor Series '97]
98 Days: Chris Jericho (Undisputed) [Vengeance '01 to WrestleMania XVIII]
1 Day: Bret Hart (WWF) [Final Four to RAW]
*-In the event Benoit loses the title at SummerSlam (August 15th), he'd have a 153 day long title reign.

I really liked the Diva Search Moments, gave me a chance to switch over to I LOVE THE 90S on VH1!

Lita can act, however it obviously needs to be PISSED OFF Lita and not Shiney Happy Lita or Tearfull Sad Lita.

Eugene blading, looked very, very good. The beatdown was good, and left Eugene and Benoit (as well as Regal) all having issues to be settled at a later time.

Flair beats Hurricane with the figure four, and that helps Hurricane how? IT DOESNT! Getting your ass beat does not HAVE to help you. Perhaps just letting Ric get a little face time and promotion of the book is enough, why does it have to be about getting the 180 ound comedy match specialist over?

Tomko had trunks on, and not the black pants/wife beater combo, made him look like and actual wrestler. He didnt do to bad either. Him and Maven could probably have a nice little one or two month fued if Maven can stay healthy long enough.

Anybody else notice that the King would stop using his "King" voice and use his normal voice when speaking Flair's praises?

Edge = nap time. Sorry, teeth, hair and chin dont impress me, and his skills have diminished since his surgery. I hope he can get some of the magic back, but he looks too pensive in the ring and that isnt going to help his IC reign. Two PPVs top, and either Orton or (hopefully) Benjamin can get the strap.

There was a "Happy Birthday Hurricane" sign in the crowd. And sure enough, various places online list his birthday as July 12, 1974. Hey, even if you do have to tap to a Legend's finisher, getting an interesting promo & pretty decent little match with Ric Flair for your 30th birthday isn't such a bad present.
