Wasn't exactly paying a whole lot of attention for the later matches, but was anyone else impressed as hell by Alex Shelley? It's not just the moves, it's the mannerisms. He almost acts disgusted that he has to be in the ring with such filth when he goes to tag out. Although it seemed that they might be setting up an Abyss face turn. After the match, Goldylocks was all about Alex, and Abyss got to emote in the ring, but he seemed to be annoyed about being ignored.
DEAN's Nuggets of Wisdom:

Alex Shelley is the bomb shit. He is really, really, really good and in fact is even better than TNA is going to show you. And he's only 21 years old. I seriously recommend Shelley stuff from IWA MS and ROH.
I've only seen him twice, on the last two impacts. So far, yeah, I like him. I really liked that crazy cross-arm double-knee falling backbreaker thing he did last week.
drjay, you're so right -- I think Abyss is going to DESTROY Shelley very soon.

How so? I mean, what about TNA would hold him back?
Quality of opposition and match length, mostly. The match with Primetime was about the sloppiest match of his I've ever seen. He can do some freaky chain wrestling, but he's not going to throw that into a five- or six-minute match. I really have no doubts Shelley will succeed in TNA because as drjay said, the guy can not only wrestle, but he's got personality. If/when they put him in the X division, he'll shine, but I admit to really liking the tag team with Abyss, which I didn't think I would. I'm starting to finally come around on Abyss anyway, the dude is pretty good. I think it was just his old ring gear I hated.
I thought Shelly looked more...afraid (not quite the right word, but it works) more than disgust. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who picked-up the Abyss jealousy seeds being planted (what an observant bunch of viewers we are).
I don't know why, but something about Sharkboy and D-Ray3000 just clicked with me. Maybe it's been all those Universal Studios segments they've been in these past weeks.
YOUR CONTINUED HERESY AGAINST THE WRESTLING GODS HAS DOOMED YOU TO SPEND ETERNITY WATCHING A MORDECAI VS. KENZO SUZUKI IRON-MAN MATCH (and Hiroko isn't at ringside for you to oogle).
Man, this was the first week that I have seen Impact, and it was like sensory overload. I'm trying to watch a match, while my eyes can stray to results from Wednesday's PPV or to the time left in the match (a GREAT idea by the way).
I was impressed with the show as a whole, although the lack of interesting storylines is rough. There is nothing like a pecking order really, so I'm confused as to why I should care about any of these guys. The wrestling was awesome though, with an absolutely SICK looking whip to the Black Hole Slam by Shelley.
Oh, and the biggest HOLY SHIT moment came from the flip piledriver. What a crazy and cool move that is!
Joe Wilson (looking at Interocitor manual)- Hey, here's something my wife could use in the house... Crow T. Robot- A man? Joe Wilson- An interocitor incorporating an electron sorter. Cal Meechum- Oh, she'd probably gain 20 pounds while it did all the work for her. Tom Servo- Cal, you bitch!
I'm really glad TNA is pushing the X division guys on the free show, because the last thing I wanna do is pay to see Larry Zybysko in a PPV main event.

While on vacation in Orlando, I actally went to an IMPACT! taping at Universal Studios...and lemme tell you, Shark Boy is OVER with the crowd. A smarkish crowd, to be sure, but he's way OVER with 'em nonetheless.
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy.

If anybody can donate a copy of Smackdown, I would really appriciate it. I ended up recording at the wrong time, so I missed it.
