Nice way for them to play up to Ingrid and get her to join the show! A hundred grand for her to go along with it seems more than reasonable, and she seemed like she was having a great time from then on out, laughing and having a great time.

The guy is still clueless, and makes more of an ass of himself each week.

New chick comes in to be duped. She isnt as yummy as Ingrid, but I would not throw her out of bed!

Thoughts?

Thanks for this spoiler-ridden thread title...

If the Sudanese government can't or won't act, and the threat of international sanctions (the U.S. already has sanctions in place) doesn't work, then troops it must be. The ideal solution would be to use troops drawn from the region, but they don't seem to have sufficient numbers and training. Thus, once again, the world will be standing around, waiting to see what the United States does.

However, we already have two foreign military projects — Iraq and Afghanistan — that really ought to be finished up before we take on anything new. But there are major nations fresh and rested from sitting on the sidelines that can and should take the lead.

How about it, France and Germany? The criteria you said you'd need to justify intervention — a clear humanitarian crisis and a U.N. resolution — are there. We'll hold your coats.- East Valley Tribune editorial

I don't know which was funnier:

1. TJ, Gerald, and Bryce trying to open a door for Tim to say "cunnilingus"

2. the lie detector with Gerald throwing "oh, of any girl, yes" out there, TJ saying flat out "no" that he wouldn't donate the kidney, or the detector guy giving the thumbs up right afterward

3. the whole Bryce reaction at the end - fucking PRICELESS...PERFECT. My wife watched the end with me, and not knowing the least bit about the show (thinking it was all real and that I was a friggin slag for watching it anyway) said, "That blonde (Piper) should be veeeeeery afraid of THAT guy....he looks like a killer."

-- Just a question - the whole schmooze before each break: "The most unbelievable twist in reality television ever....NEXT!" thing - this is a straight up mock of all of the other shows, right? To be honest, I have never watched Survivor, Bachelor, et al, so I didn't know they did that....do they?

I liked that the finally let Ingrid in on it, so she didn't spoil it for Tim. AND, they bring in another mark, so they can keep the game fresh. Good idea.

Two things that I'm curious about:

1. I wonder if the rest of the cast (and crew) will start to resent Ingrid for figuring it out so quickly. Especially if she comes in and makes the rest of the actors look silly, since they're all terrible actors anyway. Except for Bryce. Bryce is the MAN.

2. It's clearly obvious that Tim has feelings for Piper. How are they going to curb that, because they're clearly going to get to the point where they'll be spending more and more time alone together. She's either going to have to play along and let him *think* that he's getting somewhere, or turn into a total bitch around him, so he doesn't get attached. If they go for the former, then when they go for the reveal, and he finds out that it's all been a ruse, then he's gonna be crushed, right? I mean, this'll have train wreck written all over it.

They are as a group, much worse than the actors who were in the first show. I mean, the chick who player Cammy tells her "story" to Ingrid, then stops when the camera loses power then picks right up where she left off when the camera starts up again? Doesn't take a brain surgeon to firgure out something might be up.

As for Tim's feelings for Piper, maybe they will do that with the Piper character (turn her into a bitch), unless the girl playing her is developing feelings for Tim herself?

7:39 -- They go with Howard. Of course they do. He's the third high schooler taken overall in the past four years, as well as the first top pick with braces since Pervis Ellison. Not a good sign. "Praise the Lord!" screams Dwight Howard Sr., who didn't realize that the Lord had Okafor going first in his mock draft.

9:46 -- Yes! Boston takes Delonte West! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Something good happened! He's good! I know he's good! I watched him all year! He's a more unselfish version of Cuttino Mobley! I have an opinion! Woo-hoo! I have an opinion!

I enjoyed this week, and thought they made for compelling TV again. The reveal to Ingrid was edited too much, when did the rest of the guys get there? They are setting up her as competition for our new Schmo-ette...

Bryce is such a gem - far and away the best actor of the cast, close second goes to Derek. His poem was again priceless, I like the spoilers' hints about him hanging around to be even creepier...

Piper's parents were a treat. Tim finally catching on that Geruld has gotta be gay, and the lie detector test was a lot of fun. Bryce sticking up for Tim to Piper's parents about the video had to be convincing Tim things were on the up and up...Dinner conversation with all the set ups for Tim not to bite, was also a lot of fun.

Didn't they tease a guest appearance by the original Schmo Matt? Was he supposed to be behind the other door that was not picked?

Next prediction - Cammy and TJ have sex, Amber shows some skin, and the crybaby Eleanor is tossed, Tim is shown doing laundry - 5 blue shirts and 1 maroon bathrobe.

I don't think Tim has strong feelings for Piper, I think he is beginning to care for her and doesn't want her to get hurt by a stalker, but he's a competitive guy and wants the $100,000.

They have to have told Tim, Ingrid, and Amber that this is a humourous spin on some of the other reality shows, they are meaning to show skin, have a lot of laughs, and maybe get ratings. They have to see that the contests are intended to be over the top fun...

Last year's ensemble was a much better all around group - Kip was funny as hell trying not to drown, Hutch was such an asshole, and Dr. Pat was hysterical, while Matt really had no clue. This year with the premise built around "love", I doubt Tim is really buying it, but I think Amber might.

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

"I will blow your ass out." (drjayphd)

Wondering why the show was only 55 minutes even though it was advertised as 90?

I can't find the original post, but one of the producers is posting at Television Without Pity's boards (forums.televisionwithoutpity.com). He said that the show was just too long and running too late (it'd end at 12:30 AM on the east coast) so Spike chopped it down to 55. The bits that got cut were VERY good, though, and they may air the full version some other time (if not today, I didn't notice).

Hadn't thought of it, but that's a great call. Didn't they have people hiring skywriters during Big Brother trying to send messages to certain people in the house? I could see Bryce sending Piper love messages easily.

I didn't see the whole episode front-to-back, as I had to help my wife set up a hospital cage for a sick ferret, so I saw the beginning of the Bangers and Mash and came back about 10 minutes later (missed cutting a commercial on the tape, grr...) so I'll have to rewatch to see how that segment ended.

Bryce definitely stole the show this week, but the close second was the couple playing Piper's parents. Her father was scaring ME, and the notion that they backed Gerrald (presumably because they think he's gay too, not that he's the most respectful toward Piper) was solid. Also interesting was the little barometer that the writers built in to see if Tim was getting attached to Piper. I'd expect something like that again later (doesn't really play into the women now since Ingrid is out and the new girl is too new to need it.

Speaking of Ingrid, she did manage to get the Porked and Beans story across alot cleaner than Cammy did. Granted, the context was completely different since Ingrid wasn't trying to tell her that she was in the video, but maybe having Ambrosia pass the story off to Ingrid like that would have been better? It's also interesting to me that now it looks like Ingrid is supposed to take on a mini-Ambrosia personality. Either that, or Amber is going to make it that way, based on the her interview after hearing about it.

The short clip of the Porked and Beans video looks like it's going to be an absolute riot. I was explaining it in the car to my wife yesterday and she just looked at me sideways and cocked her eyebrow. She claims she'll watch it once I have all of it on tape. Pshaw...

Was the replay last night cut to an hour too, or was it the 90 minute version? If this is what following RAW is going to do to this show, I'm not crazy about it. I was prepared to go to 12:30 AM, but had to recheck my math when the credits started rolling.

The replay was also just an hour.

I hadn't paid attention that this week was supposed to be a 90 min ep, that explains why Matt's appearance was advertised.

I was kinda thinking the opposite. If these guys are "competing" for $100000 and a chick, wouldn't it seem more realistic if they made each other look like shlubs to Piper's parents?

Maybe it was a case of Bryce taking her Dad's comment about "I'd take my wife and daughter out of here right now" seriously?

As a side note on Bryce that I didn't mention earlier in the other post, how great was it that Ingrid was kind of tearing up when Bryce read his first poem and now Amber did the same thing for the second one? What I did miss during the eviction ceremony was Ingrid reacting to the speeches and Bryce leaving. She was just as stoic as all the other actors are during the ceremonies this season. Last time everyone was getting swept up in them thanks to Matt and it felt more "real".

Hate to self congratulate myself (who am I kidding, of course I do) but what happened with Ingrid was exactly what I predicted last week. From Ingrid getting the necklace, Ambrosia over the top exchange with Austin. Ingrid rolling her eyes & Derek goes on to tell her she's correct... I'm glad Ingrid sticks around, but now she's actually an actress she just doesn't seem as special. It will be interesting what type of character she is, I'm sure they won't ask her to be too much of a focus point as she's not experienced (yet I still think she's better the Cammy)

The term mark is used (Ric Flair goes crazy). The bring in another female Schmo called Amanda (unexpected yet smart move I must say). Amanda fits in much more as a Schmo "mark" then Ingrid did, Amanda has a sense of naive desperation about her that Ingrid never had.

The highlight of the show was easily the lie detector test. Bryce answers comes off like a guy who really likes Piper, he'll wait for marriage, he'd still love her disfigurement, but Tim doesn't care he still has the hate for him & find him creepy. TJ lies about not having a problem waiting for marriage, or every lying to a girl, but TJ did tell the truth about not giving Piper's dad his kidney... Gerald once again rules, he gives all the "Manly" answers like of course I'd want to sleep and it comes out false LoL! Tim's What the hell reaction to the thumbs has been one of the best moments of the show this year. Piper is "out of the girls" is Gerald favorite HA. Tim's turn and he's honest all the way through in liking Piper and wanting her in the sack, willing to give his kidney to Piper's dad & being unfaithful in the past. The only falsehood was that Tim said he's not intimidated by Piper's dad.

Rest of the show was okayish, the outdoor game was what it was. The challenges for the guys was funny. TJ right off the bat kissing Piper's mom on the lips, good line by Gerald before saying when hearing TJ challenge "I'm surprised you haven't already". Gerald excuse of a picture of him in drag as "It was a dare". Bryce trying to explain to Piper dad about him trying to hypnotize Piper had busted written all over it. Plus it just adds on to more creepiness in Tim's mind... Elimination Ceremony & Bryce get's eliminated NOOO. But it seems like he continues stalking so that's cool. Amber felt so sorry for Bryce, like HairRaiser said much like Ingrid in the first episode. I think TJ is a producer or something, so he's sticking around much like "The-Buddy"(who was a producer). But unlike The-Buddy, TJ character just doesn't really interest me in the show.

So this show was meant to be 90-minutes and they cut it to an hour. It did seem strangely edit. Again the main highlight was the lie-detector segment as it was funny but also developed alot of these people characters... This week it hit me why this season isn't as good as JS1. There's very little bond between the character. On JS1 Matt had a big connection with everyone, from having crushes on Molly & Ashley, protecting Kip, hating Hutch, respecting the Army-Vet, having pity on Dr. Pat, befriending The-Buddy. Even the character had well played out interaction like Molly v. Ashley, Kip v. Hutch. ON JS2, the only real connection is Tim/Bryce, which is great. Tim finds Gerald amusing but there's no real connection there, I don't even know what TJ is trying to be. On the ladies side, Ingrid had sympathy connection with Eleanor, but didn't have time to play it out. All the other character are just like "there".

It's still a good show, and I'll watch it until the end, but it's something I noticed why it might not be as good. I also think the setting and scenario as a "love show" makes people a lot more competitive and not really caring about the people around them because the schmo main focus is on the bachelorette/bachelor. Unlike JS1 when Matt was focused on everyone as housemates.

You get the picture...the food was horrible. In fact, it's so bad the guys decide to order pizza for the house...and who delivers the pizza? Who else? The nations most popular former pizza delivery man himself...Mr. Matt Kennedy Gould...(my very good friend for those of you who are wondering).

You know we had to have a cameo. And what better time? Matt rolls in just as pretty as you please, drops off the pizzas, and then gives Derek a ceremonious high-five on the way out. Let me just take a moment and say that Matt Kennedy Gould is not only a classic, stand-up guy, but totally irreplaceable. Earlier in the synopsis I told Ingrid I loved her...so never mind the bullocks...I'm saying it to Matt as well...I love you too, pal!

Back to the show...Derek strolls in after Matt and is stunned to discover the cast shoveling down pizza hand over fist. He's crushed that they didn't enjoy the English brunch and slinks away in obvious disappointment. The only thing funnier than Ralph Garmon as an English host is Ralph Garmon as an English host with his feelings hurt.

As an aside, the commentary clips (req. Windows Player 9) on the Spiketv site for episode 4 does show the Matt cameo and there is a "no commentary" version as well as the 3 normal commentaries. I watched all 4 versions and was laughing every time. Waving Matt underneath their noses was pure gold here.
