This isn't one of the insults you can probably find in a Great American Bash thread. Vince apparently is sick with an internal infection and was not backstage tonight.
"Early reports from backstage at Great American Bash indicate that Vince McMahon was not at the show tonight. He was advised by medical officials not to travel with the crew."
I have to say that I'm impressed that he's gone a little over ten full years without missing a PPV. Do any other sites have more information on this, i.e. what sort of internal infection this is or how he attained it? And how serious is it?
Well either find another company to follow or get used to her booking. She's head of the creative department, as mentioned by Vince on Off The Record. And she is one of the people who will be taking over responsibilities of running the company whenever Vince moves along. Vince mentioned her, Shane, and Triple H as the main ones who will be in charge, as well as "some other people." He said that it will take several people to do all the things he does on his own right now. There is an "emergency plan" ready he said, so the people listed in this article are likely the ones he was talking about (as well as Linda).
The sites say it's "serious," but then pneumonia is also considered serious and can take a lot out of anyone. That'd be my guess, but it's just a guess. I hope this doesn't turn into a speculation thread....
Hopefully Vince gets better soon.
"I have heard from a number of people that Stephanie in particular relished the chance to be in the lead role backstage tonight."
I know, I know, it's not like that's the SOLE reason for the show being godawful, but still...amusing coincidence.
"A number of people". Wow, it doesn't sound more "what's the best way to make up a story without having any proof?" than that. If it's true, then fine, but I'm just tired of sites posting National Enquirer type messages because they know that the IWC will just eat it up.
What's the problem with someone wanting to take charge anyway? Isn't that kind of her job as a McMahon in the first place? Or is Vince hoping his kids would just stand around going "Duh, I don't know what to do..." staring at the wrestlers? Isn't her taking control of a situtation like this a *good* thing?

Tribal Prophet
Here, here!!
I visit this forum because of the occasional insight or level-headedness that I find on here. But the constant nitpicking and complaining for the sake of complaining is just retarded. Makes me feel like I'm way back in high school again. People believe way too much about what they read on websites, and I'm referring to the obvious opinion-based comments like Tribal Prophet just pointed out.
Vince should start worrying if the day comes that Stephanie has to step up and doesn't want to. He said on OTR that when he moves along, he'll be replaced by a TEAM of people. Hence his point about how it will take several people to replace him and all the jobs he does on his own. I imagine the WWE will become more of a structured company like most other multi-nationals.
