I'm not Mr. Religion or anything, but this is an interesting read. It's a good thing Shawn Michaels made the phone call when he did.

So Marty is born again. Does that mean Vince will try to sign him, if he can show his drug use is behind him? Or, would the casual fan really care anyway?

Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.

I wondered too if Shawn would use his stroke to get Marty a job ... maybe the tag team reunion with Al "Leif Cassidy" Snow is already in the works.

To heck with it. I say we should get a full-fledged Rockers reunion!

Hell, it’d even be appropriate given all the other rockers from the 80s who are reuniting nowadays. If Slash and Duff can do it, why can’t Marty and Shawn?

Good for Marty. It won't mean anything for the WWE, but I'm glad to see him get the help he needs. Plus, I was an impressionable little kid back during the infamous Barbershop scene, so seeing Shawn now come to Marty's rescue in real life gets me all marky and nostalgic.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

Mayhem, you dropped the ball!

This thread should've been entitled "HBK saves CRZ's life!"

Seriously, this is nice to hear and especially great that both Rockers have patched things up.

Do we know of any ill will held by Vince against Marty? I'd have to guess once Marty's life is stable, Shawn would invite him backstage to an event. Whether he gets a job or not, who knows. I don't know if Marty is in good shape, either...let alone whether he's showing his age.

At least there's some good news in the world of wrestling for once. You'd think this would be a little bigger than it's being treated. Aren't people glad to have him alive rather than reading that he's another name to the growing list of wrestlers who's now dead??

Man. This sucks. Marty used to be cool, now he's just another Born Again. For some reason, I was always a bigger fan of Marty than Shawn. When the rockers broke up and Marty basically didnt go anywhere, I was pissed. Oh well, at least he is happy, or thinks he is happy anyway.

So...
You would rather have seen Marty go deeper and deeper in the downward spiral and then die than be "Born Again?" What the heck is your problem?

"Crom... I’ve never prayed to you before— I have no tongue for it. No one— not even you— will remember whether we were good men or bad, why we fought, why we died. No. All that matters is that today, two stood against many; that is what’s important. Valor pleases you, Crom, so grant me one request: Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to hell with you!" - The Prayer of Conan

This sucks?? Whether you agree with the religion or not, I can't see how you can say "this sucks". The man says he was considering suicide until this happened. So you'd rather he die than become "just another Born Again"? That's just cold, man.

I think it was in reference to him becoming a born again Christian, not him getting his life back together.

There is a difference, just in this case it happens to be very closely related.

It's good to hear that Marty is seemingly off the wrestling dead pool.

And it's also nice to see that washed up athletes with big guilt complexes about their rowdy pasts are still rushing towards religion when their money runs out. (Although, to be fair, I'm sure Janetty hit bottom years ago.)

Ok, to weird, I go to Bad Blood at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio just find out after wards that Marty Jannetty has turned his life around via Shawn Micheals after he had nearly 45 minutes of the brutal hell in the cell.

Great to hear CRZ!!!

That last line was a joke but seriously this is a great thing to hear. I had, oddly enough, wondered what happened to Marty. It really makes me feel good that we didn't have to hear about him dead in a gutter which is what it sounded like he was close to doing before Shawn, by the grace of God, called his phone. These are the simple good things in life that you can appreciate when they happen. It's also what makes life so grand. :-D

That's one hell of a heavenly story. Really amazing how everything went full circle... I wonder if Confidential show was still on if they would have a story in it or if this sort of stuff is way too private.

Debra being on the roster has always seemed to follow what Austin does anyway, so I would imagine she is gone. For her sake, I hope she does stay away. I'd be a little nervous about people possibly getting revenge on Austin through her.
