The Torch is saying that the FX network has expressed interest in giving TNA Impact! a primetime slot. Apparently, the higher-ups were very impressed with the debut episodes and want to give it a chance.
I'm all for TNA making it and all, but isn't this a little too much too soon? In its current state, TNA may not be ready for primetime just yet. But if it means giving deserving, hard-working guys like AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels their first piece of national primetime exposure, then I'm rooting for them all the way.
Enjoy the fresh taste of Chavo Classic and New Chavo! (Disclaimer: Exposure to Chavo Classic and/or New Chavo may lead to offbeat shenanigans)

Any of the TV guru's know how many households FX is in compared to Spike TV?
I know FX is on far less, in fact i read once that it was one of the leading candidates for the ecw show, but it didnt air in nyc so they didnt take it. Thats a big area not air your show. If tna were to get a primetime spot it would be great for the company...and great for primetime elix sipper(bad joke, sorry). I would love to see it happen however.
When I leave this world, I want to go the same way I came in, naked, covered in goo, and screaming in fear! LAter God bless Mercer

For comparison purposes, in millions of households (source): USA: 90 (NBC) Spike TV: 86 (Viacom) FX: 84 (Wikipedia, though I've heard similar numbers before) FSN: 77-82, depending on the source (mostly press releases from partners)
FX is certainly in enough homes, and the promotion is much better than FSN's, especially since the latter is run basically as a group of quasi-independent regional networks while the FX is, of course, a traditional solid network. Spike used to be far less, but soared thanks to the godlike power of Viacom.
FX also has had a bigger national impact recently than Spike. FX has the rights to a number of NASCAR races, and boasts the Emmy nominated shows The Shield and Nip/Tuck. All Spike has really done recently is Joe Schmo.
I've been more than pleased with what I've seen so far so obviously I'll be happy if they get a newer/bigger and better deal running somewhere. I've been trying to use this to get many of my friends back into wrestling that gave up once WCW took a dirt nap. I know a few people don't seem to care if they do well or not, but I'd certainly love to see NWA succeed and I plan on giving them as much support as I can.
It would certainly make it easier to catch. It's on at 4am here on Comcast Sportsnet. I missed the first week and last week it was scheduled to be preempted by a baseball game, which was promptly rained out. And they still failed to show Impact. A spot on FX might get them a bigger audience if its not a Friday or Saturday Night slot. That would be murder.
Hmm...people FX is owned and operated by FOX. What do you think the FX stands for. It's just catcher then calling it FOX cable or something like that.
If NWATNA wants to move IMPACT! to FX then I'm sure it's up to them and Fox to make an agreement to move the show to the FOX national cable signal (FX) rather then having it air on locally sponsored affliate sort of thing like it is now. That's why it's on at different times across the country based upon local programming, etc.
Given that a middle of the afternoon timeslot on a group of regional broadcasters that can pre-empt your show at will where you still have to pay for the time is about as bad a deal as you can have and still technically be on TV. Being on in prime time is a better deal. Being seen in more homes is a better deal. Not having to pay for your timeslot is a better deal. If there is any truth to this, TNA should pursue that opportunity with everything they've got.

FYI, FX wasn't available in New York back when ECW had the TNN show, but it's been on cable here for a couple of years now. The main reason was that Time Warner Cable serves New York, and they hate Fox -- they kept Fox News Channel off for quite a while, too. Don't quote me on this, but I think they might eventually have been legally forced to add it.
If you're Canadian and want to add to your WWE DVD collection, make a trip to Walmart. $7.00 each. The most recent stuff I say was Austin's 'What'. It's mainly 2000/01 releases, and includes some of the double DVDs.
