According to wwf.com within a couple weeks after WM18 the WWF will be returning to Toronto and Montreal.

May 13 RAW, Air Cananda Centre in Toronto.
May 14 Smackdown, Molsen Centre in Montreal.

Kind of a quick return, Don't you think?

Return to the site of the hottest crowd in months? Sounds like a good idea to me. (No sarcasm intended BTW)

If they're willing to shell out the hundreds to attend Wrestlemania, then they'll pay the 30 or 40 for a RAW or Smackdown. It's all about the BIZ-NASS.

There are no facts-only observational postulates in an endlessly regenerative hodgepodge of predictions. Consensus reality requires a fixed frame of reference. In a multilevel, infinite universe, there can be no fixity; thus, no absolute consensus reality. In a relativistic universe, it appears impossible to test the reliability of any expert by requiring him to agree with another expert. Both can be correct, each in his own inertial system. -Bene Gesserit Azhar Book

Yeah, makes sense. I've also heard that they may be returning to Montreal for KOTR. Has anyone else heard anything about this? Seems a bit unlikely, I guess, if they're having a Smackdown there just a month or so prior...

Go where they want you, I say.

The WWF plays to way too many apathetic crowds just because its a regular stop...might as well spend more time where the fans appreciate you and where the majority of your roster is from too.

Which implies the WWF can book a crappy card for these events and know that people will buy it in these selected cities.

While I think that's a stupid inference to draw, the point you make is essentially correct. These fans are rabid for the WWF, so I'm sure at first a crappy card will still draw fans because its not so much the card as the label "WWF" that sells the majority of tickets. The card pushes things over the edge--hence, tickets going on sale for events months in advance with no idea of the card and selling out.

What turns people away is a consistently poor product.

I'm surprised by the frequency only because, not to be mean or anything, but what's the Canadian dollar worth these days...2 cents, maybe 3 on a good day? It seems like even if they draw 15,000 to a Raw in Montreal, they're losing money from getting 9,000 at a Raw in any US city. But then perhaps I'm just bitter at Canada for guaranteeing that I'll never get rid of Hogan from my tv. :(

You're assuming the WWF charges the same amount for tickets in 2 currencies - how smart is that? I mean, when the WWF goes to Japan, do they charge 45 Yen because they charge $45 USD per ticket in Chicago? Obviously, the WWF compensates by charging a higher ticket fee in the weaker currency --> same take.

BTW, for television purposes 15,000 rowdy, drunk fans at the Molson Centre > 9,000 Chicagoans sleeping off their knockwurst lunches inside the United Center.

Aqua, I was going to post that you make a good point about the ticket price, and compliment you for pointing out something I had failed to consider. But then you had to make the second half of this post. Had you pointed to most other cities for your attempt to slag a U.S. crowd for being small and quiet you might have had a point. But to attempt to indict a Chicago WWF crowd for being quiet is just utterly foolish. And you don't even have the right damn arena for WWF events in Chicago. Instead they always sell out about 13-15,000 or so at Allstate Arena, for insanely hot events like the Raw that started up the Rock/Hogan angle. Or was that not good television?

There's rumors that Judgement Day is going to be in Ottawa. THAT would be sweet. I've never seen a WWF pay-per-view (blew my chance with Mania) so it'd certainly be an experience.

Why be bitter at canada. Cause they blew the roof of the fricken Skydome. Good crowds make for 100% better tv. when the crowd is dead so is the mood of the match in question. I distain hogan at this point in his career as much as the next smart but he aint on tv due to candas response. And thats a good thing.

Once the match started the giant looked high and low, but he couldnt find Shane.Which Way did GO?
