So sez Rolling Stone (rollingstone.com). They've added some details 411's lifting of the Billboard story forgot.

Their guitarist and drummer are working with their original bassist for a project called Alter Bridge... and aww fuck, Scott Stapp's gonna be working with the Tea Party. >_<

This is the best news I've heard in a while.

Damn they sucked.

I think it's kinda funny that the rest of the band is soldiering on without Stapp ...

Looks like he will be the Axl Rose of this generation.

Awww...this is awful news. I really liked them. I have their 2nd and 3rd albums. Weathered is great and still holds up today. I was wondering why I didnt hear anyhing about a 4th album.

So was their some kind of heated ending as to why Scott and the rest of the band split, or was it something that just happened?

Personally, I never really minded Creed. I was never a big fan of their's, but I didn't think they were the worst band ever like so many others think.

Creed were never the 'worst band ever,' but they were arguably the first of the nu-metal bands to make it big. You could say that they were to shitty nu-metal what the Beatles were to the British Invasion, but then you'd have to kill yourself.

Hopefully Stapp saved up enough money that he can finally afford buttons for his shirt.

Nah, the rock stations didn't have Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains kicking out albums back in 97, so they went and found themselves some Creed and Days of the New to fill that gap. So I wouldn't label them Nu-Metal; same period but differant sound, different attitude, different audience. And you got to differentiate, because if you put them side-by-side with their contemporaries, the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot, they don't sound half bad. Either would I!

I keep missing the memos when it becomes the cool thing to start hating on popular stuff.

You don't like Creed? Then don't listen to them. No one thinks you're super-cool cause you spout your hatred for Creed on a message board.

So go buy Local H's new CD and spare us...

I honestly couldn't care less if they're done or not. I have the Weathered cd. It has some good tracks on it. I mean Stapp has a fairly good set of vocals and I enjoy some of the slower paced songs. Alot of their stuff has been over played so I can imagine where some hate is coming from but it doesn't matter to me if they're gone or not

As for Linkin Park being next..well I'm an LP fan so I'm praying that day is far off.

I didn't post this to gain popularity. If you're posting on a message board to be popular, you gotta rethink your life. I was just, well... celebrating the demise of a band which I considered a plague on the music industry. No one ever said I always took the high road. Popular doesn't always mean good. I'd still hate them if they only sold 60 copies of their latest CD, not six million.

And Local H isn't all that much better. ;P

Here's a hint: As soon as it becomes popular.

As for Creed breaking up, where will I go when I need my fix of pseudo-spiritualistic wuss rock?

And Local H sucks.

All I can say about Creed is this: when I first saw their video back in late 1997, I thought "this is another Nike commercial.. oh wait, this has been going on awhile...it's NOT?! This is a SERIOUS video?!" At the time I think Nike was running this commercial about workers trudging along in dreary office.

I think a good deal of their success can be attributed to the timing of their first release. When they hit the airwaves in late 1997, they were about the only NEW semi-rock band that featured guitar oriented rock. For the past few years, airwaves had been burdened with "alternative" and ska music. In the midst of that, a coupla' DOD distorition pedals sound REALLY COOL.

I liked the stuff off of their first record. After that, it seemed like they released the same single and the same video every time. I think that estragrand has it right. When they came out, they were the only group doing anything different, and when the power ballads that they released hit it big, that's what they ran with. I hope they have some of the money they made saved up.

Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.

Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

I don't know which makes me more confused: That I'm responding to somebody who used the phrase "songwriting powers" to refer to Local H without prefacing it with "staggering lack of" or that said person uses a Jock Rock CD to back up their point. :)

CHRIST POSE!

Good riddens to a load of shit. If it wasn`t for Tremonti, Stapp would`ve never have gotten anywhere anyway as he wouldn`t have had catchy riffs to hide behind.

Hell no I didn`t listen to them, unless someone else had control of the radio. And it WAS easy. But it just gives you a fuzzy feeling to know there won`t be any new material to avoid.

You have to admit though, the Desire promos set to "My Sacrifice" were mighty cool, and succeeded in redeeming that song for me at least. The rest of their stuff...not so much so.
