Last week, Eddie fainted. If It happened to him, it can happen to you. Please, DON'T FEEL FROGGY! It's time for The Great Thomas SmackDown! Report!

Mr. Angle: He announces that Eddie will be in action tonight, but EMTs will be surrounding the ring during the match, in case he collapses again. He then smirks.

RVD/Mysterio vs. Dudley Boys: RVD is still jurking curtains. Rikishi Part II. He's also wearing nasty tiger-striped tights. Mysterio is wearing a baby-blue colored mask that kind of makes him look like an Easter egg. Trash talking. Rey tricks Bubba into a strength contest, but stomps on his foot instead. "You stepped on my foot, man!" BIG TOSS by Bubba. Headscissors by Mysterio. 6-1-9 is foiled by Bubba. But wait! PAUL HEYMAN appears in the audience! Let's go to commercial break!

RVD/Mysterio vs. Dudley Boys (cont.): Paul E. is sitting in the front row. The Dudleys turn Rey into a Face in Peril. Boston Half Crab by Bubba. Enziguri to D-Von! SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT by Mysterio! Tag to RVD! JUMP KICK by RVD! NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX by RVD! ROLLING THUNDER & DROPPING THE DIME! What a double team! 6-1-9! But Paul Heyman foils the West Coast Pop! Bubba PRESS-SLAMS Mysterio into the announce table! Paul E. rolls Mysterio into the ring, and D-Von pins him for the win! Michael Cole has a fit. Security comes to throw Heyman out, but the Dudleys drag him off to safety.

Backstage: The Dudleys celebrate their win. Paul Heyman comes out and asks D-Von if he's happy that they won. D-Von says yes, and gets slapped for it. Heyman tells the Dudleys that they still haven't made an impact, and that they had better make that impact TONIGHT!

Michael Cole: He's out to announce that the #1 contender for Eddie's title is... STILL John Bradshaw Layfield! We get footage of Bradshaw's chairshot on Eddie, then on SmackDown, when Eddie collapsed, followed by Bradshaw pinning him. Bradshaw is all smiles over the footage. Cole asks Bradshaw what kind of man is he. Bradshaw threatens to slap Cole into next week, then snags the mike from his hand. Cole slinks back to his announce table. Bradshaw says he is a man who seized an opportunity. He says Eddie lied about his collapse, since he was scared of Bradshaw beating him again. He says that at the Great American Bash, he will do worse to him. Eddie hit Bradshaw with the title because he wanted to get disqualified and retain his title. Mr. Angle let Bradshaw choose the stipulation at The Great American Bash. Bradshaw promioses to win the title and bring it back to New York City!

Booker T vs. Scotty 2 Hotty: Squash match. Afterwards, Booker says that next week he and Undertaker have a rematch. The BONG sounds, and lightning strikes the turnbuckle! "Is that all you got, Undertaker?!" More lightning. Booker says he's not scared of Undertaker, and next week, he will beat Undertaker and shock the world!

Meanwhile: EMTs bring a strecher down to the ring.

Mordecai: One Man Crusade: His voice is wierdly distorted. Oh, yeah, Mordecai's already chosen his first sinner.

Danny Basham vs. Guerrero: Michael Cole cried watching Eddie's documentary. Eddie tosses the strecher aside, yells at the EMTs and scares them away. Mr. Angle rises from the earth, and tells Eddie he will not wrestle again until he signs a contract waiving Mr. Angle from any liability. Eddie is visibly angry.

Torrie/Spike vs. Dawn Marie/Noble: Stuff happens. Spike wins. The team with Torrie always wins.

Kenzo Suzuki: He may not be Hirohito anymore, but he still has the WW2 gimmick.

Backstage: Haas and Rico are ogling Miss Jackie in her bikini. Rico gives her fashion tips. Then, Rico shows Charlie HIS swimsuit. Haas is disgusted... by Rico's fashion sense, that is! Straight Eye For the Queer Guy.

GM Room: Cena runs in on Mr. Angle and Luthor. Angle's mad that Cena suggested to the Board of Directors that the Armed Forces get the Great American Bash for free. Mr. Angle says that he and Luthor will be at ringside for Cena's match, and he can't wait for Cena to lose the title.

Backstage: Look! Chavo Classic got his own locker room! Chavo Classic tells New Chavo to go out and introduce him.

Chavo Classic vs. Akio: New Chavo introduces his dad. Classic comes out with his Nature Boy style robe. Akio's still hurting from Mordecai's attack. Neckbreaker by Classic. Leg Lariat by Akio. CORKSCREW SPLASH by Akio! Classic tosses Akio out of the ring, where New Chavo hits him with a HUGE TORNADO DDT! New Chavo tosses Akio back in the ring, and Chavo Classic pins him for the win!

RAW Vince announces the $250,000 RAW Divasearch, Kane tells Lita it's over, Hunter and Shawn Michaels assault each other, and Bischoff announces HHH vs. HBK: Hell In A Cell at Bad Blood.

Parking Lot: The Dudleys beat up Paul, toss him in the trunk of the car, and drive off. But wait! Someone's left an urn lying around! Paul Heyman picks it up, and laughs. Oh, so they attacked that OTHER Paul!

Duprée vs. Cena: The ring is surrounded by midcarders. Then Luthor brings out the Mr. Angle-In-The-Box. Duprée tries to roll out of the ring, but the lumberjacks prevent it. Duprée chops Cena who no-sells it and and tosses René out of the ring, where Rico kisses him! Duprée gets tossed out of the ring again, where Bob Holly and Billy Gunn toss him back in. Cena gets tossed out of the ring, and Luthor throws him headfirst into the Mr. Angle-In-The-Box! The face lumberjacks, conveniently called "Friends of Cena", check on Cena. Let's go to commercial break!

Duprée vs. Cena (cont.) Duprée works on the weakened Cena. Booker T causes Cena to fall out of the ring, where the lumberjacks rough him up. Cena falls out of the ring, where Booker T beats the crap out of Cena. Mr. Angle is all smiles. Back in the ring, Duprée hits the SPINEBUSTER! FRENCH TICKLER! Cena hits the F-U for the win. Booker almost cries. Mr. Angle is angry. Cena's friends hoist him on their shoulders. And... we're out.

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and SmackDown! was doing SO GOOD last week! What happened?!

My reactions:

First of all, day-yam DirecTV is a godsend! I just got it hooked up today, and it beats the hamster-powered analog cable service this one-horse, podunk, hick burg has to brag about. Get da dish, yo!

Heyman can berate Bubba all he wants for not getting the shot at Eddy's title. He had his chances against Angle AND Triple H and he blew it.

Does Bradshaw have dentures or has he over-whitened them to hide all the cigar stains?

So Suzuki wants revenge against ... Mysterio? I know I heard that name in his rant. S'pose that means the end of the RVD/Rey team so Rey can focus on the new guy.

Subtle and funny bit as Haas hides behind the belt as he ogles Ms. Jackie.

Not even the might of Dupree's Eiffel Tower can help him win, and now I wonder what good he's doing on SD. He should have won, and Cena would then have to go through Luthor to get his rematch for the belt. Cena runs a gauntlet, Luthor gets established as a brute and Dupree plays the coward by hiding behind Angle. It builds everyone up.

I liked the show, but clicked away to watch the Flames a few times.

It wasn't as good as last week but it was better it has been in months. The big problem was not showing enough of Eddie and of course Taker was absent once again(what else is new. But Raw has bad shows to just give Smackdown the benefit of the doubt it's turning around(hopefully).

Good scenario; it would have been interesting to see it played out that way. However, based upon what we've seen tonight, it looks as if Cena's next challenger for the U.S. Title will be Booker T, as The Undertaker will most likely be moving on from his feud with Booker to a program with Bubba and/or D-Von Dudley. Perhaps Dupree could be given the Paris cafe talk-show as a semi-regular feature (ala Jericho's "Highlight Reel" on RAW) in order to keep him active on the SmackDown show.

This may be the ultimate ICW statement: I was so stunned by something that I forgot to gripe about it.

What the HELL are they doing running an hourlong special on Eddy -- with the possibility of humanizing a performer for the mainstream -- and then NOT give him a match the next night AND then saying he won't be wrestling at all on free TV until after the PPV at the end of June?! Why should the non-fans turn their curiosity into SD ratings if he ain't wrestling?

That's an excellent question. And if it was actually what they had done, it might even be a relevant question. All they said was that he couldn't wrestle until he signed a waiver excusing Kurt Angle from any liability if Eddie were to get injured again. Unless it takes Eddie a month to write his name, I don't think there was anything about him not wrestling again until the Bash.

That slap was AWSOME!!!! Paul slaped D-Von so hard that the sweat on him got all over the camera lens.It was such a good image.

Yes, but the curious then would have to turn in next week to see IF he wrestles instead of turning in to definitely watch him wrestle.

I can understand teasing the non-fans into tuning in again, but they were given no payoff this week for their initial curiosity.

Yeah, Eddy can be in the ring next week, but they should have advertised an Eddy bout instead of his potential inactivity.

I don't think there's much point in altering their storylines to convert the 1 guy out of the 5 or 6 non-wrestling fans who watched the Eddie Guerrero special and decided to check out the product. If anything, that guy would be more interested in seeing Eddie participating in actual storylines rather than just beating someone up. If they were interested in watching people pretend to beat each other up, they'd already be wrestling fans.

You know the one promotor move I hate most is A WRESTLER NOT ACTIVELY WRESTLING UNTIL A BIG EXPENSIVE PAY PER VIEW COMES UP OR IN HHH OR HOLLYWOOD HOGAN'S CASE A HEEL WORLD CHAMP REFUSING TO WRESTLE ON ANYTHING BUT PPVs. I don't know about the rest of you but that kinda crap doesn't make me want to buy a PPV. IT JUST PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody else wince when Bubba slammed the trunk on Bearer's (or whoever was REALLY in the car) ankle. Then he said to D-Von, "Make sure his leg's in..." before shutting it the second time.

Classic.

The Dudleys/Heyman lockerroom stuff was interresting. The main event was pretty good. Nothing was particularly bad this week (note that I fastforwarded through the Bradshaw segment).

Of note: Rob wore a singlet with a skull. BookerT wore black "BT" crotch, flamin' "BookerT" undies.

With Booker apparently being sent into a feud with Cena, does this mean Rasta the Voo-Doo Man has been put on the shelf?
At least with The Dudley facing Taker for the next few weeks, it at least keeps all of them in a vortex.
Some good Al Wilson talk finally occurs on SD. Perhaps; using ECW is Coming Back Logic, this means Al Wilson will be returning to SD due to his name being mentioned.
I caught Mysterio being mentioned by Suzuki as well. Mysterio wouldn't be the first name on the roster I'd think of a guy seeking vengeance on the US going after.

Paul Heyman is excellent. The whole segment with the Dudleys, from him yelling at people outside the door, through the slap, to the talk-down was awesome backstage stuff.

I'm not happy with the JBL/Eddie feud continuing. I find myself fast-forwarding, which I *never* do. And then I continued to FF the Booker/Scotty squash. I listened to Kurt intervene in Eddie's match, wasn't thrilled, then went back to FF-ing. Although I like Spike & Jamie Noble, the "girls" kept me FF-ing. All together, took me about 40 minutes to watch a 2-hour SD? That's a very bad sign.

Meanwhile, Rico & Charlie are very possibly my favourite thing on SD these days! Charlie holding his title belt just so while inspecting Jackie's bikini was hilarious. They play off each other perfectly -- Charlie is providing exactly the right straight man (as it were) for Rico. "What am I doing??"

Los Chavos are fun stuff. Keepin' it all en la Familia. Couple of very cool spots by Aikio too.

It took me a minute to figure out what Fifi was wearing on her way out to the ring. Finally it dawned on me -- it was a lumberjack shirt! :-) You know Rico was humming to himself "I'm a lumberjack, & I'm OK..." -- WWE should work on the rights to use that. That was a decent match, & some of the lumberjack interactions were definitely entertaining.

Some really fun stuff, but without my fast-forward button, I would have been quite the unhappy girl.

-Dudley Boyz vs. Mysterio/RVD- Another RVD vs. Dudley type match. This was a decent enough match especially when Rey was in there. Heyman comes to ringside, pulls Rey out as he prepares for the westcoast pop, as the Dudley's win... The most interesting part of the show came backstage after the commercial break as the Dudley's were celebrating a win as Heyman slaps D'von right in the face, Bubba gets in Heyman's face as Heyman reminds them they hardly are making an impact.

-Layfield interview- Bradshaw brags about winning his PPV match vs. Eddie, calls Eddie a coward for getting DQ'ed but that won't happen at the GAB as there's going to be a stipulation... What's the stipulation? Wait until next week, ah Layfield you tease.

-Booker vs. Scotty2Hotty- A under 2-minute match as Booker squashed Scotty, not that I'm complaining... Booker looks all freaky in the purple/blue light as he's all greased up and jacked.

-Spike/Torrie vs. Noble/Dawn- Well I like Dawn acting like she doesn't want a tag win when Noble went to her... Torrie's team gets The W (well duh). Torrie got payback for her defeating and humiliating Dawn at Judgment Day or something like that LoL.

-ChavoClassic vs. Akio- C.Classic is my favorite bad promo guy in the entire E. He tells his son to knock on his door if he wants to come in. C.Classic also said the division is going "old school" as he nods his head as we hold and break... Onto the match, C.Classic comes out in full old school robe. Akio can very well be my favorite unpopular cruiserweight, he's awesome. Beautiful corkscrew moonsault. Chavo Jr. pulls him to the outside and hits a tornado DDT and throws Akio back into the ring as his father gets the pin.

-Cena vs. Dupree- Tazz has line of the night easily when Cena no-sells Dupree chops and Tazz asks "Where is Cena hiding his cape" LoL... Decent match, I think Dupree would have been a good U.S champ but The E wants Cena to keep it and he's not necessary a bad champ so I don't mind him keeping it, but this does seem like the end of the feud which I thought it could have gone a little longer but for that to be the case Dupree would need the title.

-OtherStuff- How out of it am I when I saw the Dudley's put someone in their trunk and said "Paul" I thought Paul Wright the Big Show? LoL... Rico, Haas and Jackie were fine in their backstage skit...I liked Cena interaction with Angle backstage.

-Line of the Night: Tazz "Where is Cena hiding his cape
-3Stars of the Night: 1)Heyman. 2)Mysterio. 3)Akio

Last weeks Smackdown was a much better show, first time in ages I thought it was better then that weeks Raw(HHH/HBK dance-a-thon). Might even be better then this weeks Raw... All backstage stuff worked for me, the main event was pretty good. The opener even though it's been done alot was good action and the middle of the show you had some guys entertaining even in minor form.. Sorry Emma, no sign of the night. I really should scan the crowd with more effort.
