Considering it says copyrighted material it probably will unless it is somehow edited and not called something it's not. Now, I'm trying to descide if this marks the end of the fun loving wienerboard or to post something crazy to get kicked off the board. ***LOL*** Anyways I sort of had a Wrestlemania gut feeling about like the Brock vs Goldburg match. It is at the moment when the crowd chants "You sold out!" My gut sort of got icky and sicky. I have a feeling might get 24 Hardcore rule ban for that unless we've totally thrown out first amendment rights. I'm out.
Well, consider the following: If you don't log out, you shouldn't see the ads.
I don't see how this affects you.
While our logos are probably technically copyright infringement, they are used in the spirit of recognizing the letter 'W' in popular culture. As such, I don't think they provide a positive or negative connotation to the products associated with them. As always, we would respect any copyright owner's right to disagree.
The site is actively costing us money now. I can't understand why you'd have an issue with us trying to defray that cost.
Maybe hold off on the "You Sold Out" comments until they are appropriate.
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
Just a general question on the hate speech issue: Is it over the top racial comments/death threats etc., or is it what most Politics/Triple H threads eventually degenerate into?

This one shouldn't be too hard...

Well yeah you did, or we wouldn't have had the big announcement.
People don't like change. Being a free site had been one of the W's mantras for a long while. With that "changing" people are going to be much more sensitive to other changes. Not your fault, not anyone's fault. It's just the way things are.
It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milkbone undershorts.

I hope you mean it, 'cause I won't miss you. (By the way, if you think I'd actually ban you for saying that, you STILL don't get it.)
Me, I think showing a PayPal button to EVERYONE is MUCH more offensive than showing some ADS to ONLY THE NON-REGISTERED USERS, but we're doing that too, aren't we? We all have our own comfort level and deal differently with the tradeoffs we find ourselves dealt. Hey, but if you REALLY want fun, try going back and reading the ezboard. ;-)
I do thank both Z's profusely for keeping the site up despite the very real problems with real life.
Think about it- there have been many reasons over the years given by CRZ to close the site that don't hit this close to home. Too many list threads, too many incompetent posters, asinine topics and banished spam. Yet when there is a very real reason, one that we all can at times relate to (financial issues), he does everything he can to keep this board going. This shows a level of committment to the Internet and to his board that is unheard of.
I know that I didn't have an easy time when the site went down. And while I'd like to have just gone and "gotten a life," it was still good to see this place come back up. So I think we can adapt to this small change. And if not, there's the door.
(Man, after reading my words...I'm such a kiss-ass...oh well.)
Joe Wilson (looking at Interocitor manual)- Hey, here's something my wife could use in the house... Crow T. Robot- A man? Joe Wilson- An interocitor incorporating an electron sorter. Cal Meechum- Oh, she'd probably gain 20 pounds while it did all the work for her. Tom Servo- Cal, you bitch!

Okay, now MY gut's getting all icky-sicky. :)
Agreed! I barely can make heads or tails of those darn boards due to how they can be customized out the ying-yang. I'm sorry I ever complained and if I EVER get my credit card paid of this summer I might actually donate help on "upkeep". I tend a be a bit pessimistic towards things and as ZIM pointed out I probably should have bit my tounge a little more. I'm probabaly one of the more grateful people that you did A: Go public B: INVEST C: Get Partnerships and D: Is that in the right order?
Most of what was gone over in the "new rules" is really much of the same as what is in the "old rules" except actually written down on paper. It doesn't look like too many things will change around here. I mean, Grimis may have to make some changes to his posting style, but other than that, there aren't usually graphic pictures on here, there doesn't seem to be too many 13 year olds on the board, hate speech generally isn't tolerated, discussion of the illegal activities listed very rarely occurs here anyway, the PayPal thing isn't that offensive, and I logged out to see what the main page looked like with the ad and it wasn't noticeable. It'll be when the Zims start using popup advertising that I may bitch about that.
//edit: The only thing that freaks me out about this is jwrestle's sig.

I have a question and would like some clarification on what exactly is being called obscene. Are we talking about visual or textual? If it's textual, are we talking about the 7 dirty words? Are we talking about graphic descriptions of sex acts? Non-graphic descriptions? Will we have to be like a Wrestleline columnist and say "fricking" a lot? I don't care if we do, but I want to know where our lines are before inadvertantly crossing them.

Words generally shouldn't get us in trouble...so long as the people USING those words also apply a little common sense before they post, which is all we've ever asked (or tried to) in the past. I'm pretty sure most of you can make your fucking point without peppering your posts with expletives simply for shock value.
I think the bottom line is Google doesn't want lots of pictures of nekkid schlongs and chooches on pages that might also have their ads. That's what I get from scanning their agreement. Given that we didn't have a lot of that over the past two to three years, I'm not going to get all paranoid all of a sudden. HE might, though. ;-)
You guys must like this board more than I thought to keep it up and running for real money. When does a board full of goofs you spend 90% of your time smacking around, for obvious reasons, become not worth it anymore? Running a free board seems a lot more fun.

And that runs into another problem. One man's "hate speech" is another man's gospel. Because, let's face it, who defines "hate speech." Of course, hate speech in and of itself is unconstitutional, but I'm not even going to start that argument right now...

Actually, he may have been talking about the "Cut n' Paste" seeing as how you do a lot of that.

Pat Tillman, rest in peace.
I don't think you understand how hard it is to drive a brand into the ground, and erode the popular support that has flourished for over thirty years. I get up early. And I don't go to bed until I've made some very poor decisions.
My preference is block, but I assume my thoughts are being scraped by AI on every other board I've ever posted on and every site I've ever written for, so would there be any point?
