In a recent interview with IGN.com, Sting stated that if the timing was right, he wouldn't mind working for the WWE ... the full article can be found here:
I would like to see Sting. It's a bit tough because he will only come back as a face, but if it were just for a short time, it would excite the fans. He would be perfect to start the rest of the roster to fight against evolution when HHH takes his time off.
He wouldn't mind working for them if the schedule and money were right and they'll never be right. He's never going to work the schedule they'd demand and that's the only way they'd pay him the money he wants.

*checks calendar* Yeah, I guess it's about time for this one again...
Sting will make his WWE debut the night Bischoff comes out and turns Raw into WCW Nitro. And keep watching, because later that week Paul E. is going to relaunch ECW on Saturday night.

Are you sure about that? I miss seeing Sting on TV, but it's been awhile. Would he get the kind of fan response he used to?

He would still get a decent pop with a bit of promos IMO. He is 40+ with a family. Its really the schedule that's too much.
Sting eh? Well... He's cool, yet I really dont see a place for him in the WWE storylines. Who is he gonna feud against? Scotty 2 Hotty? Hurricane? Ultimo Dragon? (Does Ultimo Dragon even work for WWE anymore?...)
Right now everyone and their grandma is involved in something and they'll just have to do something stupid to insert Sting; like with Edge who just came in and aimlessly speared any heel in sight until he was given a shot at the Tag Team Title with Benoit; who apparently is more "For Real" now that he has TWO belts (wow! Obviously, he's not for real if he only has one belt... what was he thinking???)
I agree with anyone who disagrees with someone that agrees with Sting's WWE daydreams. A couple of things have to happen for Sting to come to WWE, and in conclusion; I'll believe it when I see it.

Not that I think Sting will or even should come to WWE, but I am 100% sure that if he did he would have a main event program right off the bat. Or at least be involved in a feud which would quickly segue to a main event feud. For the kind of money he would probably get, sticking him in low card feuds would make absolutely no sense, regardless of how biased Vince may be against ex-WCW guys.
With that said, I think it would be very cool to see Sting run out on either RAW or Smackdown, especially if news of it happening did not get around (like Rocky's surprise appearance this Monday). However, after that I don't see what the point would be. You know Sting's not going to be around long, so why showcase him instead of younger guys who have the potential to be stars for WWE for years to come.
One upside I can see is Sting coming in for a couple of months to feud with Randy Orton, leading to a blowoff match at Summerslam, so Orton can put another notch on his "Legends Killer" status, as well as learn even more from one of the greats of the sport. Is it necessary? Not really. Is it worth the money? Maybe, but only if Sting were up to the task of putting someone else over and then leaving.

What I meant was that as things stand RIGHT NOW, there is no main event room for him; maybe next PPV- (but we know thats not gonna happen), and yes you're right- there would be no reason to keep Sting after having him make one cool surprise appearance- thats my whole point exactly.

The Heavyweight Champions of BOTH shows are "ex-WCW guys". Could we please stop with the "bias" Vince has against them already?!?
Both Benoit and Eddie paid their "WWE dues" for a long time before getting to the top of the card. They also chose to come to WWE by leaving WCW while the company was still around. Their cases are distinctly different than most of the rest of the "ex-WCW guys." I don't even particularly buy the arguement to begin with, I merely cited it because it is a commonly accepted theory which should be addressed when discussing Sting, one of the most popular WCW wrestlers ever.

Feeding him to Orton wouldn't make much sense, since it would add yet another top name on RAW and leave nothing for Smackdown. Sting could be the drawing card that Smackdown desperately needs, though frankly, I think it'll be a frosty day in Hades before we ever see him in WWE
THE QUEST FOR LORD STANLEY'S CUP
Tied for 9th: St. Louis Blues, New York Islanders, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators Tied for 5th:Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche Tied for 3rd:San Jose Sharks Second: The Champion:
I have fond memories of his NWA/WCW feuds with Flair, Vader, Muta, Jake the Snake, virtually everyone before the Crow gimmick. It never worked for me because it took the beach-party guy and made him solemn and dark. It was a credible transition -- changing his entire look to combat the nWo Sting and reflect the nWo invasion -- but he never had a chance to present the character leading up to tthe Hogan feud. After that title win, he was as devoid of direction as the entire promotion. I haven't seen the Sting I want to see in almost 10 years. It's over and done for him in that role. Edge is already walking that territory in the WWE, Benoit uses the Sharpshooter/Scorpion, Steiner and Christian use reverse DDTs and Shelton has the Blinger Splash.

I said before, "that as things stand there is no room for Sting in the WWE. I dont have anything against Sting, (on the contrary) -but I just dont see a good spot for him in all the commotion of the present...." (maybe nowhere near those exact words) Let me correct that a little...
Like Big Bad and other writers have uh, -written, RAW does not need Sting, and Smackdown! to my opinion, with the additions of Mordecai and Suzuki to its roster has its hand full at the moment, (hand, get it? cause the titantron has a big fist on it? ha ha...oh.)
So, having said all this- I dont see Sting in Smackdown! (the only RIGHT place for him)in all of my vast and annoyingly confusing imagination; (and thats saying a lot I might regret) UNLESS they bring Sting in to foolishly feud with Suzuki, or interfere in the inevitably oncoming Taker-Mordecai feud- ! -wait a second maybe they will do one of those things... (and then there will finally be world peace!)-

Right now, the top heels on Smackdown are: JBL, the Dudleys, Dupree, and Booker T. The top faces are: Cena, Undertaker, Eddie, RVD, and Rey. They desperately need a big-name heel on that show, and there's no way that Sting could (or should) work in that role at this point in his career.
indeed... although, after reading the IGN interview, his coming to the WWE seems slightly less remote, but still very.

The WWE could play up the history between Flair and Sting, and have the final match between them EVER...and I know I'd love to see that. Mind you, their final match on the final Nitro was the perfect way to say goodbye to what I would call the greatest feud in wrestling history.
I like how the WWE is using Flair right now...and if they can use Sting in the same way, then it's all good.

On WWE.com right now, they've got a bWo promo in which they challenge the Mexi-Cools to a match at the Great American Bash. I'd check it out, it's kinda funny... and it also relieves my fears that the bWo were going to be a one-night-only thing.
