I really hope that Smackdown is able to pull out of this downward spiral. You know Eddie is going to take the fall for this. Cena's offense is terrible, but since he's most over with the crowds, maybe they should just run with him. He has more mainstream appeal than anyone on either roster.
You gotta think if they weren't trying to destroy Eddy they would book Eddy vs Cena. With Eddy playing the "cheat to win" role and Cena cutting "edgy" promos, they would not need an obvious heel vs face rivalry.
But no, that matchup might actually draw ratings and buyrates and we can't afford to have Eddy and this "new style" succeed, so he gets saddled with JBL and angles that insult our intelligence and our sensibilities.

(How badly will Cena and Dupree expose each other and will Cena do the job? I've got a bad feeling that someone is out to cut off Cena's legs, too.)
It's not that deliberate, it's just writers who don't know how to protect people. But I think Cena's over to the point where people couldn't give a crap how he is in the ring. They just wanna see him rap, do his handsigns and hit his trademark spots. Cena's got that over anyone left on the roster. Perhaps he's the one guy who learned from The Rock.
Smackdown is WWF 1995 but Eddy Guerrero is no Bret Hart and Bradshaw isn't even Kevin Nash.

I understand what they're trying to do. Cena was too over to keep him a face. They don't want a face/face ME PPV. They are making money off of Cena merch as it stands. They'll put Cena over for big PPV like Slam or SurSer.
I still don't understand why they didn't have Booker T face Eddy for the title at Judgement Day. On paper it is a much better match up. They could have also kept Ron Simmons around a few extra months and had JBL squash him on ppv (since there would have at least been a built in feud) to help establish him as a legit title threat for the next ppv. Undertaker takes on the Dudleys in a handicap match. Rico and Haas take on the makeshift tag team of Rey and RVD. Add in the Cena/Dupree match and a decent CW match and that isn't too bad of a ppv. Hell, I could even stand to watch Holly and Gunn beat the heck out of each other in some form of garbage match, it wouldn't have been hard to set up a feud between the two.
Dave Meltzer just reported the complete line-up based on someone who saw the sattellite feed of the show. It is as follows:
Eddie Guerrero v. Bradshaw Cena v. Dupre Undertaker v. Booker T Chavo v. Jacqueline Mordecai v. mystery opponent Sable v. Dawn Marie
If that is legit, then WWE must be making a strong effort to make this a horrible show. Jacqueline, Mordecai, Sable, and Dawn Marie all have PPV matches, while RVD, Rey Mysterio, and the Dudleyz do not. Again, this isn't confirmed. But if it is legit, then what a crock of shit.
The answer to WWE's financial problems...
Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.
Their complete refusal to utilize the cruisers in any way other than jobbers for the big guys continues to baffle me. SD's quality has been lacking, they can barely fill out a PPV, and ratings continue to tumble. It's obvious they don't care about SD, so take a chance, and give these guys some time. I know Vince loves the big guys, but what could it hurt? I just don't get it.

I think someone might be pulling Meltzer's leg. Considering Sable hasn't been on TV in months, or even had her name mentioned in months, I don't see her having a PPV match.
These are desperate times. And desperate times call for desperate measures. Thus, its time to break out the Cubs/White Sox/Red Sox call to put the Kaiser back on the throne.
u can't make it so easy, thats no good. *low-blow (2[one for each ball]) *your pick in a match hits a finisher (2) *your pick for a match wins (1) *the ref gets mushed good and propper (2) *some on interfeerz in a match (1 per person to intervine)
