This is simply a vent...but gees....the guy blew another one yet today. He gave up six runs in less then five innings while the young Rangers were able to give him five runs in support....and he still can't get a win.
Heck, I know we're only 1/8 of the way through the season, but as of today we're tied for first in the most competitive division in baseball. Our young everydayers are playing out of their minds and this overpaid jerkoff can't keep it in the ball park.

His performance since joining the Rangers should be a surprise to no one. His ERA was only kept low by pitching in a very good park for pitchers when he was with the Dodgers. His road ERA was easily a run to a run and a half higher. Move him to a park such as the Ballpark in Arlington (and yes today's game was on the road, Kauffman Stadium isn't a pitcher's haven either), and disastrous results should be expected.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

... Yeah, that 2.36 ERA in L.A. really stands out when you look at his splits over the last three seasons -- you find out that the L.A. numbers are all from 2001, Park's last good year. In 2000, his Dodger Stadium ERA was 2.34. In 1998, it was 2.75.
I'm not sure why Park couldn't get it together. All of the "experts" touted him from day one as a future Cy Young Award winner ... for myself, as a lifelong Dodger fan, I personally thought he had tremendous ability and felt he would be the ace to take the team into the next millenium. He had the body for it, the classic Tom Seaver drop-and-dive pitching motion, a good fastball and a very good curve.
It might be one of those cases where he just didn't progress; didn't improve his game as he gained experience. He started working on a changeup in 1997, and he still hasn't mastered the pitch. He never added a quality moving fastball (either a cutter or a 2-seam) to his repertoire, and that proved to be a problem -- Park's conventional (cross-seam) fastball is as straight as a string, and it looks like he's lost some velocity on it as well. His slider remains as flat as Joan Rivers' bustline, and it can be pounded if it's left up in the zone. He struggled with his control early in his career; it continues to be a major problem -- he's always pitching behind hitters and they always seem to get the 3-1 or 2-0 fastball that they're sitting on.
If anyone can help Park, it's Hershiser; and Park is still young enough (30) to salvage his career.

Anyway, congrats to the Rangers for sweeping Boston. Lets see, the year after A-Rod leaves Seattle they win 116 games. If Texas makes the playoffs this year then I think A-Rod becomes a charter member of the "Ewing theory" club.
The Dodgers always overhype their prospects (Chen Fing Chen, Alex Cora, Mondesi (never reached his full potential), Joe Thurston and Dreifort immediately come to mind for me)...I think the Dodgers have a tendency to rush guys along and it seems like these guys will kick total ass in the minors then crap out in the majors, what are they doing wrong?

Am I the only person who hope this kid signs into the NFL and Roy Williams and Parcells get to let that comment stew for the next 7 months?
Chan Ho park drives me crazy...they need to either give him a AAA assignment, or move him to the bullpen and have Orel take him to pitching boot camp. He shouldn't sniff a start until after the All Star break, if he's earned it.
Well, the only problem with that is who starts in his place. Is there another young starter in AAA who could step in to the role? (Seriously, I know nothing of the Rangers' organization.)
Texas has a guy in AAA named Nick Regilio that is 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA so far this season. I think that's either four or five starts.
That doesn't mean he would be great in the bigs, but CHAN HO is 1-3 with a 5.50 so far this season. With the sucess DRESE and DICKEY have had under Orel, I wouldn't mind giving Regilio a chance in about 30 days if he can continue to perform this well over his next five starts.
