...the Packers have reached an agreement in principle with defensive end Joe Johnson, ESPN.com has learned.
While there remain some details still to be negotiated, the two sides have agreed on all of the key elements of the contract, sources said.

I was shocked when I heard the news. I though the packers had no chance at signing him. And since I'm a big packer fan, I nearly had a orgasm!!!...No, really!
Adding Johnson will be huge for the packers (fuck the salary cap). Him and Holliday at end will be awesome. Maybe they will move to tackle on third down to allow KGB and Reynolds to come in as pass-rush ends. That would be a dangerous pass rush.
Now if Terry Glenn plays to his potential, the packers have added a playmaker to both sides of the ball.
That's a good pickup for them. They were already a good team and now they will be even better.
I know the Rams beat them pretty handily at home during the playoffs but i was sure glad we didn't have to play the packers away. With a decent defense the Packers will be even more dangerous now!
I am the JOBBER TO THE STARS. You better remember that.
Based on the way it's been talked about here, I'm guessing that the signing is being delayed in hopes of re-working a contract or two. The details of Johnson's contract would seem to put the Pack hard up against the cap. If this happens, and anyone *cough*Minnesota*cough* would sign Donald Driver to an offer sheet, we'd have no room to match it. Rather than risk losing another receiver who knows the offense (not that I think much of Driver to this point), I think that the Pack would prefer to keep him.
If Holliday and Johnson don't both move to the inside on pass rush downs, it's going to be even tougher for Jamal Reynolds to get playing time, because Reynolds won't surpass KGB.
Franky 'Bag -o- Donuts' Winters redid his contract to make some room. I think this is just AWESOME. They already had an incredible front line, with that revolving 7 man front they ALWAYS had fresh legs. This is gonna be nuts next year, I am so exited for training camp to start. They just seem to, now, be in such a great spot to do something big. Hell, they did something big last year, with NO recievers. *pant pant pant*
