Awright, sorry, too much stuff popping up to wait a week or two for it all...

---MOVIES---

(bandwidth-stealing pic comes up when it's linked directly - CRZ)
This is the first GOOD look at MAN-THING from the up coming film. Looks pretty good, damnit.

Reviews of Blade: Trinity are starting to show up after various test screenings this past week. Still no word whether Helmsley... er, I mean Paul Michael Vevesque does a passable job. HERE'S a link.http://www.superherohype.com/ blade/index.php?id=1287

DIE HARD 4 is a go. Bonnie Bedelia recently told TV Times that the script was in it's finishing stages and that she has a much larger roll this time, along with 'John and Holly(McClane)'s kids'. Filming is expected to begin early next year.

THIS is Keenan Thompson as FAT ALBERT.

William Ragsdale's career is on the move again with the announcement that he's starring in FRIGHT NIGHT PART 3. It's supposedly filming as we speak here in Ontario, I believe.

---COMICS---

DC (re)acquired the North American rights to 2000 AD and Judge Dredd. I sure hope to fuck they don't royally FUCK it up again.

The biggest DC news for the rest of you, I guess, is the return of the GREATEST Green Latern, Hal Jordan, thanks to the guy that so perfectly reintroduced us to HAWKMAN, GREEN LANTERS: REBIRTH, will be the series slated for October and (sadly) drawn my Ethan Van Sciver.

In yet ANOTHER sign that MANGA isn't going away any time soon. VIZ COMMUNICATIONS has slowly mecome the number #3 comics publisher in the world. Recently, NARUTO vol. 3 and RUROUNI KENSHIN vol. 4 became the first graphic novels to EVER appear on USA TODAY's top 150 selling books list, each selling 7,570 and 8,351 copies respectivly. As a comparison, ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN Vol #1 has sold around 6000.

Some big name comic writers and artists are heading back to high school! J Michael Straczynski, Denny O'Neil, Tommy Castillo, and Evan Dorki all all going to be at HAWTHORNE HIGH SCHOOL in Hawthorne, New Jersey for a comic convention on MAY 8th to help benefit the schools art program. Anyone in the NY/NJ area should go, as it's only $3 admission and each guest is giving autographs for $1 each towards the school. Straczynsky has offered to match the proceeds he gets from his autographs, and donate it to the school. This will be Straczynsk's first eastern comic convention appearance in a decade.

'Which of these things don't belong together, which of these things just doesn't belong?' Casper the Friendly Ghost, Mr. Magoo, The Lone Ranger, Magnus Robot Fighter, Underdog? ...NONE of them, actually! CLASSIC MEDIA owns all of these properties. Which one has recently been optioned by Simon and Shuster and ibooks to be revived as a new line of novels and comics with a marketing budget of close to 2Million bucks? That's the strange one, in that ibooks feel that Magnus will be one to make them tons of money.

Vice President Steve Rogers! That's what we're missing out on, thanks to the whole fucking AVENGERS reboot and Brian Bendis. CAPTAIN AMERICA, in a recent issue was asked to be a running mate for a presidential candidate, and the original plan was for him to accept and go on to become the Vice President, HOWEVER, the story was cut back from 18 issues to 8 issues and they had to go back and redo the last two pages of the issue, ending the story line completely.

Venom's outta here, Patterns seems to be the final story line for the series.

Hal Jordan shouldn't be coming back. It totally shits on Emerald Twilight, one of DC's best storylines EVER, and more importantly, ruins the ever-present spectre of "what if Hero X went bad?" that has been used in plenty of great storylines since then (i.e. JLA's "Tower of Babel"). Kyle Rayner has grown into a perfectly interesting character in his own right, so let Hal stay in the netherworld with Barry Allen.

Why the HELL are they bringing back Hal Jordan? Yes, he was a great Green Lantern, but he's moved past that in so many recent storylines. To bring him back, as Big Bad said, destroys so many good stories (Emerald Twilight, Zero Hour, Final Night and his run as the Spectre). Damn you DC!

Really? I know it's mindless action sequel, but I've always had a soft spot for the Die Hard Franchise.

I wonder what the script is. Does anybody know? I know they were talking about having it take place on an island paradise (and, at one point, IMDb had Britney Spears listed as McClane's daughter).

IMDb now has John McTiernan listed as a director, which is just fine with me.

EDIT: Well, I'll be damned. Look what I found: http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=4470

To me, Hal Jordan was never really all that interesting, he was just surrounded by interesting people. Kyle Rayner wasn't all that great, but he grew into a great character on Judd Winick's watch. To me, other than Alan Scott, the most interesting Green Lantern alter-ego is John Stewart, but when it came to being the Ringbearer, he was given short shrift. All that said, I'm not all that excited about Hal coming back.

I was actually starting to like Kyle for a while, then when he became a bitch and a pussy and left earth, I just got tired of his whole routine. He'll always be a poor man's Peter Parker, and right now I don't really care if he stays or goes. I do kind of feel bad for him about his girlfriend cheating on him, what a bitch. Maybe they will reveal that it was all a plot by the new Brainwave, b/c that storyline never got wrapped up in Green Lantern.
