As a Giants fan, I despise this trade: #4, #34 and next year's #2 (I doubt the Chargers will take Hilliard and his injuries) which will probably be around #34 for Manning? Preferably, I would have gone #4, 3rd round pick and a 2 next year to go up to get Gallery, but not Manning. Put Gallery at left tackle, Pettigout at right tackle (pray at guard and center), Collins on an even numbered year at QB, Tiki at RB, withShockey, Toomer and Hilliard at TE/WR and the Giants could have been a playoff team. Now, no offensive line plus a rookie QB equals 3-13. Or, they could have at least stayed at 4 and taken Taylor or Hall to shore up the porous defensive backfield.
With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
I guess I'm the only one that would say screw Manning and take Gallery with the #1 pick. It would help Brees and Tomlinson and you could probably get a decent reciever at the top of the second round. I don't think it would be smart to trade down to 4 because Gallery might not be there.

The big problem here is that you leave Eli Manning there at No. 2 for the Raiders to grab...a team in your division that needs a QB.
I think Gallery would be the best pick for the Chargers, but I think trading down, they would (a) get a quality player and (b) force the Raiders into getting someone like Fitzgerald. While Fitzgerald will be great...a QB touches the ball on EVERY offensive play will a WR is maybe one in ten or so. The lesser of two evils.

Last I heard the Raiders were looking to trade down a bit in an effort to get a RB. Of course the most obvious option there was to trade with the Bengals and take Dillon as compensation but thats gone down the gurgler.
Eli's doing a fine job of getting himself over as a complete nobber before even entering the league. I don't think I've had such a strong disliking for a prospective Giant since, well only since Shockey, but still.
The Chargers have no line. Brees would be a much better QB if he had more than 2 seconds to throw. You have to question their commitment to winning when they have made no attempt to help said line. If I were drafted by them as a QB, I would hold out the year also.
And isn't Keyshawn a little younger than Galloway?? The big thing is that both teams will now be able to restructure contracts that they were a little worried about. May help Dallas be able to work under the cap to get a solid back, like Cory Dylan (sp)...
