    Just a thought....

But niether was Mike Awesome when he won the HC title. Not that I'm one of the ones upset over him not pinning Maven, I'm just saying.

I was a little disappointed with Brock Lesnar's debut. One was the fact that he came in, beat the hell out of Al Snow, Maven, and Spike Dudley, yet didn't leave with with Hardcore title, and on top of all that, they had him debut with Heyman? That kind of reminds me of Dan Severn's debut with Jim Cornette a few years ago. I just hope they don't do this when Randy Orton debuts. In fact, just for fun, I'd like to see Orton vs. Lesnar upon his arrival. I think Randy Orton's arrival is going to be more talked about than Brock Lesnar's.

I'm sorry that I missed the beginning of Lesnar's debut. I turned away from the TV for a few seconds, turned back, and there he was. I've been on the net long enough to recognize him. What impressed me the most are two things:

1. I didn't recognize a single one of his moves! He looked like he was making up slams and power-bombs variations as he went along!

2. As big of a Heyman mark as I am, Lesnar was so impressive that I didn't even notice Paul until JR pointed him out! Anybody who is so cool that I miss Paul E's return to TV is definitely worth my attention!

Why complain that Lesnar didn't win the Hardcore title? The WWF has made it clear that it's to be considered a joke title, so much so that even a run on someone like Lesnar couldn't make it respected. If it's a joke, why give it to Lesnar immediately? He'd only have to drop it quickly in the spirit of the title, and that would take away from the monster image he's crafting.

The only argument you can make for the WWF establishing him as a hardcore champion is by having him use NO weapons at all and yet still retain the title. Sort of "this guy is so badass that other guys use chairs, tables and garbage cans and still can't beat him" but he's still got the stigma of a useless belt on him. It's almost a typecasting.

After all, don't we all still think of Demi Moore as an actress willing to drop top on screen?

My roommate and I thought the exact same thing. Having never seen Lesnar before, we thought for sure it was Sid...

...we felt a lot better when we learned it wasn't.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

I can't be the only one who thought it was Sid Vicious for the first 15 seconds of his debut, can I ?

Actually no... My buddy was over, I turned to him, he turned to me, and simultaneously we said:

Me: "SID?!?"
Him: "Is that Regal?"

So anyone else who thought it was Steve Regal (though I can't imagine WHY) apparently isn't alone either... I've re-watched the tape, and I still see the Sid thing, but I'm blinded to the Regal part.

Doug Williams mentioned on Weinerville?! Wow. Yup there's a resemblance there alright. How do you know of Doug? You don't secretly write for Power Slam do you? .

Look at Lesnar's head (more specifically his hair). If you take away the rest of the body, he looks pretty much like Regal. As for my reaction it was, "WTF? That's not Goldberg... who the hell is it?"

Maybe Heyman told Lesnar not to get the Hardcore Title, because he doesn't want him going for a lesser title. Then again, I bet we see Lesnar vs Maven for the Hardcore Title at the next PPV, which is really pointless considering anyone can win that belt any time they want.

By the way, it's been over two years since they started that insane 24/7 rule and it's time to put it to rest. The Hardcore Title should be based on crazy morons like New Jack cutting their foreheads open and falling from tall things. It shouldn't be centered around the whole "At any minute, anyone can become a 10-time champion" concept. It's made for some amusing moments, but STOP KICKING IT! IT'S DEAD!

Lesnar seems like one of those really intense big guys who can jump around and do all sorts of high-end moves. Like a Goldberg or a Mike Awesome, although I hear Brock's even better than them if you believe Jim Ross...

I can definitely see him being better than Goldberg (who, really, was all hype to begin with), although not necessarily bigger, because he's in there against REAL talent like Austin, Benoit, Angle, etc.

Brock's originally from this area, being a kickass heavyweight wrestler so I've been told, for the Gophers, so he's got some bigtime credibility in that department. They're definitely going to have him wrestle Angle at some point. I wonder how much mat wrestling they'll actually do, because audiences tire of that crap early.

After seeing him on RAW and looking at his picture in the Player profile, it's pretty funny to notice the contrast. Although, either way he still has no neck.

Did she REALLY give Bob Evans a 12? That's a sick sense of humour. But that drawing of Truth Martini looks JUST like me! (I also rate myself a 3½)
