This series betweeen the Flames and Canucks has been frickin' awesome. This is being posted before overtime even starts and I can say that the third period has been one of the most exciting periods of hockey I have ever seen. I got tired just watching it. I was going to go to bed if the Flames were still down 4-0 after the second period and, somehow, it's like someone lit a fire underneath them. No matter who wins this series, games like this are what makes being a hockey fan so much fun.
Also, I am so thankful to have access to CBC. McLean and Hrudey (who I didn't much care for while he was playing) have really been insightful and added a lot to my excitement over this series. God, HOCKEY RULES...
Where the population of Ann Arbor doubles every home football Saturday.
What a game. This is more than the best series of 2004, this is one of the best playoff series in years. I'm still tentatively holding to my pick of the Flames to win, but one has to wonder if they'll be demoralized after such a tough loss.
THE QUEST FOR LORD STANLEY'S CUP
Tied for 9th: St. Louis Blues, New York Islanders, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators Tied for 5th: Tied for 3rd: Second: The Champion:
I don't think it's THAT demoralizing for the Flames, though. They came back from a 4-0 deficit to tie it up when they could have easily folded. That's gotta give them confidence in Game Seven.
On the flip side, they looked brutal up until they scored that first tip-in goal to get some life. They looked inexperienced and couldn't handle the pressure of having to close out a series which is 100% understandable. The Canucks also have the confidence that they can take it to the Flames and control the game. They also know they can't sit back, no matter how big of a lead they have.
As they say, anything can happen in a Game Seven and fans of both teams should be happy with a great series.
Monday Night - Double Header - TWO GAME SEVENS. Hockey heaven. :)
I'm emotionally spent after that game last night/this morning. Such a high after the comeback, and then the low of losing in Triple OT. It's going to be a hell of a game 7.
