I was up early on Easter and has the Sunday SportsCenter rolling. If you haven't seen the early Sunday edition, it's very quiet and subtle compared to any other SportsCenter edition. This is mainly due to anchor Bob Ley who approaches it as a straight newscast and not an audition for a sitcom or a talk radio spot. It kind of a nice change and great for a Sunday morning, especially when you've had a LATE Saturday night. People like Robin Roberts and Suzy Kolber add to the understated approach.
So, Bob Ley introduces guest Stephen A Scott for his look at the NBA. Scott is an excellent writer for the Philadelphia paper and his addition to the ESPN/ABC NBA telecasts has greatly improved their coverage. He's funny, unyeilding and direct to the point and when he gets rolling, extremely intense.
After about 30 seconds, Scott was in high gear, tearing the roof off. The look on Ley's face was priceless--he looked terrified like the conductor on a runaway train.
The morning was offically over.

You mean Stephen A. Smith. The Sunday SportsCenters are my favorite, and not just because of Suzy Kolber.
(Not Bob Kohm)
In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.
Bob Kohm, co-owner of Rotojunkies.com (rotojunkies.com) , and a large market kind of guy.
Kornheiser had a great line on the local radio spot yesterday. Andy Polley asked heard about what Stephen A Smith had done. Tony said, "What? Talked for so long and hard that he blew a house down?"
I know a guy who's name is Stephen Scott and it must have just stuck in my head. Sorry for typo.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if Michael Redd were to go to Cleveland, but I'd guess that the drafting of Andrew Bogut may encourage Redd to stay. We'll see. Last I checked, CNNSI.com actually had the Pacers as a potential (albeit dark horse)
