Rajah.com says that William Regal and Eugene’s segment on RAW was edited down on Friday's RAW (http://rajah.com/base/2004/570)... but the don't say what was cut. Does anyone know what we missed?

I checked a couple of reports from the US and it seems like Rajah was WRONG believe it or not. Rajah sucks anyway.

PWInsider had this:

Lee Relph sent this report. … It looks like Eugene is already causing headaches for the WWE in more ways than one. Two scenes revolving around him on RAW were edited this week in the UK. First, when Eric Bischoff gave William Regal the job of managing Eugene, the word "simple" was blanked out from the phrase "simple task". Later, when Regal went to have words with Bischoff, they showed him knock on Eric's door then we quickly cut a very brief generic RAW promo. We came back with Bischoff telling Regal that if he wants to stay on RAW, he has to manage Eugene. So, Regal's description of Eugene as a "windowlicker" was never aired in his home country.

Meltzer didn't mention it, though, just that promos for Backlash were heavily edited by Sky since the PPV airs on Setanta Sports.

I didn't notice the "simple" thing, but I'd say that the "windowlicker" crack was edited out due to the fed thinking it was some sort of ubernasty British insult. They've done similar things before with words Regal uses that are outside the US lexicon; besides, it's hardly someone causing a headache for them as they're the ones that edit the tapes before sending them over. Sky doesn't even touch them. If they really thought they were gonna cause offense, they'd have snipped 'em totally, as they did with the majority of 3MW's early attacks on non-wrestler targets.

Yeah, back when Vince and Trish were having an affair and Steph was on to them, so Regal pretended HE was seeing Trish instead, they edited out the word "rogering".

Fair enough, if you ask me...

Zach Gowen could smack you in the mouth if you called him a gimp. Somebody with the mental capacity of the Eugene character, on the other hand, is just easy pickings for no-strings namecalling and fun-poking.

I believe that Ofcom aren't as strict as the ITC. I couldn't believe they left in Christian putting the Walls on Trish or the Y2J/Christian v. Trish/Lita intergender match. The most annoying period was with 3 min warning and cutting them every other week.

They edited out the JBL promo from the other weeks Smackdown, too. we probably didn't miss much, but it made him turning up to beat Eddie down look a bit odd.

If you wanna talk about cutting things out..
In the UK it seems they cut out most of the playboy related stuff that Torrie and Sable did (and Torrie solo last year too).
Only when it became a feud with the Raw girls did they show stuff.

Also, was it me or was the Bradshaw promo cut from the show (from 2 weeks ago, where Eddie faced Booker T and JBL interfered)

SKY (or whoever does it for them) has that sorta stuff a lot.
Like Zach Gowan vs Matt Hardy was cut from the broadcast most of the time..

*sigh* Why bother?

They didn't cut the Bradshaw promo before the Eddie/Booker match, at least not from the showing I saw. They snipped a coupla the Fox references, but the majority of it aired intact.

Zach Gowen's stuff often got cut for the Saturday morning broadcasts, but then I think that's understandable. They always aired them in full for the late-night repeats. Hell, I've got a tape of Brock throwing him down the stairs in his wheelchair somewhere.

George Steele and Mankind were obviosly supposed to be mentally disabled but nobody cared so is it wrong only if they acknowledge a wrestler's gimmick is supposed to be a retard!

I also remember they cut Sable's return last year cause of Playboy stuff so when she turned up the next week I was like...I know that music...what the hell is Sable doing there???...she debuted last week????...you Sky bastards!!!!

The Bradshaw promo was completely cut from the late night version. The segment with Gowen being thrown down the stairs was completely cut even with Vince announcing the Iron Man match which was stupid. The only clips I've seen of that incident was with a package at No Mercy.

They also cut Zach Gowen's 'return' last October for some reason. When his match with Matt Hardy came on at No Mercy I was like 'Hey Zach's back'.

I always thought that was cut because of the whole product placement stuff - they do cut the occasional "YJ Stinger" stuff too (they are so cheesy).

On the other hand, wrestling in UK is kiddie's program, so I can understand why they want to cut soft core porn stuff out, as well as throwing disabled people down the stairs.

What comes to Zach, I always thought cutting his stuff was totally unfair - I mean, the guy has chosen his profession and is doing exactly what all the other guys do too.

"On the other hand, wrestling in UK is kiddie's program"

Nuh uh, SMACKDOWN is a kiddie program in the UK. Raw is totally confined to the sports channels and get sonly one repeat a week, and that's at 3am on the Friday just after it aired. It's a pain in the ass, as whilst I can catch the edited SmackDown and grab what I want to for comps, Friday nights aren't exactly the most convenient time to sit and watch a two-hour block of wrestling. It's not like there's that much space between the two shows' content anyways.

We both agree here. I think where we DISagree may actually be a slight misunderstanding.
