This has been coming for a while; I remember Meltzer talking about this at least a year ago, and of course OVW has been working this into their storylines. JR's not as much getting a promotion as getting a bigger title with less chores to do, as Laurinatis takes over JR's responibilities.

I'd assume that hiring and firing of talent is a group decision, so the only change there is that someone else gets to let people know they're fired. If I recall correctly, JR was booking the house shows, so there might be changes there - or they might have already made changes, who knows.

Because this has been in the works for so long, I don't think we'll notice much of a change. Except OVW storylines.

Man out of all the people from WCW who would have thought that Johnny Ace would be in the best spot?

See this is what I want to happen JR goes away and stay away. Go back to OK and live your old life away, I don't like JR and I think he is one of the reason why the guys that should get the belts aren't or getting the TV time they should get.

Go away Good old JR

I'll say it:

I hope this means that JR can spend more time researching matches and actually getting the moves' names and wrestlers' names correct. If this improves his commentating, then I am all for this change.

If this is being done purely to get DDP back into the WWE, then I am all for this change as well. And yes, prepare to see Eugene's new tag team partner next week. LOD 2005!

So what this really comes down to is that Laurinatis has been training in OVW for the past six months and is now being sent up to WWE! :-)

According to the Torch, Laurinatis is now the man the wrestlers will go to about time off, injury status updates, travel concerns and their latest paycheck, amongst other concerns I'm sure.
