Cablevision has won back my favor. First they give us the YES network (Yankees games) on basic cable. (It had been ordered by the courts, but at least they are complying.) Now they are giving a FREE one week preview of MLB season pass. Yesterday I watched 7 games at once. If you have the money and the time to kill, I highly recommend buying it.

There were some great games so far. Florida is fun to watch with Beckett and a shaky bullpen. The Giants/Astros series was very good considering the Giants are a one-man team. The Angels new lineup is exciting to watch. K. Matsui had a strong debut for the Mets and Glavine finally got a W over the Braves.

People are making too much out of a few games. Be patient. We are only a few games into a very long season. Just because your team won two games doesn’t mean anything yet. They still need 90 more wins to make the playoffs. You can’t even tell anything after the first month. By May of last year, Giambi had 2 HRs, Tejada was hitting .210, Halladay was 0-4, and Kansas City had a 10 game lead.

Thought I'd pass this along, since skorp mentioned the free MLB season pass that's offered by nearly all digital cable companies.

This was brought to my attention via a post at the Bull Pen (link in sig). A poster there found this information on a blog HERE (ussmariner.blogspot.com) . When you click on that, it sends you to HERE (mlb.mlb.com)

The gist of all of this is, there are three ways to get MLB games streaming to your computer. You can get the basic access (MLB.tv) for 14.95 a month, you can get all of the bells and whistles (MLB All Access, includes radio) for 19.95 per month, or, you can sign up for MSN Premium (join.msn.com), get the first three months free, and get complete access to the MLB All Access package for 9.95 (plus tax) per month. You also get some additional stuff by signing up for the MSN thing, but the key deal is the MLB All Access package available at a quarter of the price, if you decide not to cancel in the three month trial period.

I signed up for it, but all of the games that are on right now are blacked out due to the EPSN games on TV. I'll check back in when the Angels/Mariners and Padres/Dodgers games are available to me.

Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.

Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

Why did CableVision block out the damn Red Sox/O's Sunday Night Game in Baltimore? They don't carry Red Sox games at all anymore anyway.

About Whitebacon's MLB / MSN package...

It's quite nice. I just got it a couple of days ago myself, and the video feed quality's suprisingly good. Of course, it's not spectacular in fullscreen, but when you're trying to watch the Expos, you'll take whatever you can get.

I would think it's difficult enough trying to watch the Expos, period. :)

I finally was able to watch a game last night. Full Screen isn't great, but I've heard it's better with Real Player. (You have the option of viewing through RealPlayer or Windows Media.)

Wilbur Wood pitched 376 innings in 1972. He started 49 games. It doesn't get any better than that, considering that that was a full 116 innings more than the ML leader from 2002(Randy Johnson)
