I've been all over the Jones Soda Co. bandwagon, now that I'm finally finding places anywhere near here (SE PA) that carry them.
Yes, they were the ones that did Turkey & Gravy, and that was for laughs... but their Berry Lemonade, Cherry, Strawberry Lime and Lemon Drop flavors are awesome, M.F. Grape and Green Apple aren't bad, and my wife is all over Crushed Melon, Cream Soda and Fufu Berry. My seven-year-old niece liked Blue Bubblegum, too.
Boylan Bottleworks continues to produce very nice Grape, Orange, Black Cherry and Sugar Cane Cola flavors.
I will always pimp out the Reed's Ginger Brew line, particularly the exquisite Spiced Apple Brew flavor.
Likewise for Hansen's Natural Sodas, though _nobody_ on this coast seems to carry Tangerine or Black Cherry.
For a house brand, Whole Foods Market's 365-label Raspberry and Black Cherry are quite good. There's a different (bottled) brand that Whole Foods carries whose name escapes me, but they have a Black Currant soda that was unusual enough to get my attention (not bad, either.) Some vaguely Swedish/Scandinavian brand name, I think.

The Maniac Says: I'm a coke man myself, but Polar Cola of the North East has a great selection of soda. Cream soda, root beer, birch beer, ginger ale, orange crush and it's cheaper. Damn now I'm thirsty and need a soda.

Has anyone else discovered SHASTA SHORTZ yet? They have about 6 different flavors that I know of; BUBBLE GUM, COTTON CANDY, CAMO ORANGE CREME, CHILLIN' CHERRY PUNCH, RAH-RAH ROOT BEER and RED GRAPE STAIN. The BUBBLE GUM and COTTON CANDY go GREAT with MALIBU RUM!

I pretty much drink a diet soda until I get sick of it and move to another. Diet Mountain Dew has been the poison of choice as of late, with Diet Coke as the standard fallback.
I used to love to drink Lilt when I went to the UK on business. It was kind of a Squirt/Fresca/Canfield's 50-50 hybrid that kicked ass.

Someone tell me there's somewhere I can go to find out where I can get Jones Soda out here. The only place I've ever seen is Panera across town, and you don't go there for soda.

Anyway, I find most of the stuff mentioned in this thread to be a bit off the normal path of what I drink, as I generally stick to Coke and Squirt.
Squirt is freaking awesome. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere east of the Mississippi. When I went to Costa Rica, that's all I drank, and I pick up a 3 liter everytime I go visit relatives in Arizona or Wyoming.
My soda Trifecta: Squirt, RC Cola, Dr. Pepper. Throw in an orange soda (Slice, Sunkist, Crush) plus a root beer or cream soda and I'm a happy guy.
Also, Fanta is huge in Latin America. Coca-Cola has a real strangle-hold on the market down there. With the recent population boom of latinos in North Carolina I didn't find it very surprising to see Fanta start showing up on the shelves.

I wouldn't go to Panera for much of anything, but that's fodder for another thread.
The only Jones distributor listed in Connecticut is:
CONNECTICUT - Glastonbury Big Sky Naturals (860) 657-1459
Give 'em a call. Depending on how close you are to other New England states, you might look up the distributor list for other likely candidates.

I was thinking about starting another one of these threads, since I've found a couple of drinks recently that have rocked my world. First up, is Nantucket Nectar's Raspberry & Line Fizz. Now I wouldn't have thought to have put those two flavors together, but I'm glad that someone else has, because I love it! It's only lightly carbonated, so I can drink it anytime of the day, so you don't have to worry too much if you have nothing else to drink in the morning.
Also, I've been familiar with Stewart's Root Beer for a few year's now, but I found their Cherries 'n' Cream flavor about a week or so ago. Good stuff!
And as for Iced Tea, I can't drink anything other than Lipton's Sweetened Iced Tea anymore. I'm just too spoiled after drinking that first bottle of iced tea flavored sugar.
I'll drink about anything, but the last few years have me leaning towards Orange sodas. I'm not sure why, I just do.
Livewire is alright. It's not as orange as I'd like my orange sodas, but it's got caffine, which is a plus, and it is just orange enough to stop me from complaining. Fanta on the other hand is a wonderful anytime beverage, has no caffine, and has a very nice sweet flavor. Plus, I can get a bottle of it on-campus for a dollar, so I save $.26 buying it rather than any other kind of soda. If I can find it, I also enjoy Dr. Pepper Red Fusion, I like Dr. Pepper and Fusion seems to be a bit smoother.
But I'll drink about anything once. I haven't tried Lime Diet Coke Yet, but it's probably just because I've never liked Regular Diet Coke or Lime seperately, so I doubt that putting them together is going to convince me of anything.
I wish I could find some more Cherry Mello Yellow, though. That stuff was fantastic.
(edited by Excalibur05 on 6.4.04 2248) Maybe I should put something clever down here....

Wife #1 is addicted to the Camo Orange Creme. I like the Red Grape Stain once in awhile. In the normal Shasta range, the French Vanilla Cola is another Wife #1 favorite.

I will always stand by Hanks of Philadelphia for my Root Beer, Orange, Black Cherry, and Vanilla Cream needs. I do hold a fondness for Chowning's Tavern Root Beer from Colonial Williamsburg, though.
I may be in a vast minority, but I really miss Mr. Pibb. But not as much as the creators of http://www.misterpibb.com . The "Pibb Xtra" that they replaced it with tastes similar to flat Dr. Pepper.
I like Dr. Pepper, but in an effort to stunt my growth I stick with Diet Coke, Diet Cherry Coke, or Diet Dr. Pepper. I pick Diet Cherry coke less often than the other two, but I usually pick up whichever is cheaper on a given trip to the store.
I tried Diet Coke with lime and managed to take 3 swallows before putting the cap back on and throwing the bottle away. It just didn't appeal to me.
Speaking of Jones, they actually have made a decent tasting chocolate soda. So I guess I can just not bring up the lack of chocolate soda in the next thread.
Edit: Interestingly enough, all the bottles of Chocolate Fudge that I've found in stores (Meijer and the Art Museum cafe) have two labels, one with their usual slogan, and then there's another one underneath promoting Panera.

As for the caffienated beverages that made their influx into the market last summer, I'll have to say dnL is my favorite.
The lime flavor isn't bad...it actually tastes kinda natural, not artificial like that god-awful lemon shit.
Pepsi Blue has got to be one of the worst sodas ever (right down there with the Lemon Diet Coke). It pretty much tastes like club soda with a tiny bit of Mountain Blast Powerade. Horrible. And Pineapple Fanta kicks ass.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much mail-order only now. My local Jones distributor carries everything BUT Chocolate Fudge -- I think that was a short-term promotion for Panera Bread, who Jones has a business relationship with.
I did pick up cases-of-24 of Crushed Melon and Strawberry Lime last night from my local mom-and-pop grocery, though. $.90 a bottle in bulk -- best price I've found so far.
QUESTION: Has anyone, _anywhere_, ever made a diet soda that tasted anything like a regular soda? My dad's a diabetic, so I'm on the lookout for something good for him, but every diet soda I've ever tasted has tasted like somebody poured window cleaner in it.

They're going with a rather odd strategy with this new ReMix flavor... my local stores have been selling two 20 oz. bottles for a buck, but they haven't bugged us to start buying the new flavor yet. Last year, they were WAY on the hard-sell with ReMix, every time we'd make a soda order they'd be "Hey, wanna try the NEW flavor? It's NEW NEW NEW!"
Cutting off the old flavor is NOT a good idea, in spite of the relative decency of the new one. "Old" ReMix sells really well 'round here.
