Livewire is BACK! Summer 2004! Maybe they're keeping it seasonal to make sure we don't tire of it. Seeing a 12 pack in my kitchen out of nowhere just kinda made my day.
Anyone besides me still drinking Pepsi Blue? Anyone?
And has anyone found themselves more loyal to Red Fusion than original Dr. Pepper.
But most importantly... heard any new soda news or tasted anything new and great lately?

Never really tried it. Don't know if its good or not. My brother seems to love it.

They don't seem to sell it anywhere near where I live anymore.

Again, never tried it. How is it?

I will still pick up a Pepsi Vanilla here and there. But for some odd reason, I seem to always get Cherry Coke.
LiveWire is awful awful stuff. They tried to recreate an Orange version of Code Red, and they got caffeinated Orange Slice...
We stopped pretending we would ratify Kyoto. We only spent $15 billion on AIDS in Africa. We did not take dictation from Paris. If we had done these things, it would minimize the world’s anger.
Is the world angry at Russia, which spends nothing on AIDS and rebuffed Kyoto? Is the world angry at China, which got a pass on Kyoto and spends nothing on AIDS for other countries?
Is the world angry at North Korea for killings its people? Angry at Iran for smothering that vibrant nation with corrupt and thuggish mullocracy? Angry at Syria for occupying Lebanon? Angry at Saudi Arabia for its denial of women’s rights? Angry at Russia for corrupt elections? Is the world angry at China for threatening Taiwan, or angry at France for joining the Chinese in joint military exercises that threatened the island on the eve of an election? Is the world angry at Zimbabwe for stealing land and starving people? Is the world angry at Pakistan for selling nuclear secrets? Is the world angry at Libya for having an NBC program?
Is the world angry at the thugs of Fallujah?
Is the world angry at anyone besides America and Israel? - James Lileks
My question is- Does anybody enjoy Fanta? I had never heard of it until I started working at Target. It is the overwhelming pick of the employees, and I am only now seeing commercials for the stuff. So is it worth it to test? I mean, I thought Livewire was decent, but nothing exceptional. Orange drinks have gone way down since the days of Sunkist.

Yeah, the Fanta Orange and Fanta Grape rule. The Coke machine in the bank I work at is stocked with them.
Fanta is kinda weird becomes it keeps coming back and going away again. Fanta was started in 1940's and is still huge over in Europe. When I was in Germany in '95 one of the most popular drink was Mezzo Mix, a 1.5 litre half Fanta, half Coke product that was awesome together.
(edited by Grimis on 6.4.04 0950) HAIL, to the King of the Brackets!
My girlfriend loves the LIVEWIRE! But, I think it sucks, so she leaves my homeade iced tea alone for once, and I can enjoy a summer of not having to make a new pitcher every day.
I really like the idea of having "seasonal" sodas. Like Livewire is only available during the summer. It kind of makes it more special. (I drink more Shamrock Shakes at McDonalds when I know they'll be gone in a few weeks) This is like Sam Adams "seasonal" beers (Winter ale, Octoberfest, Spring Ale, etc.) I noticed the new Sprite Remix with the blue cap. Berryblast or something. I still haven't tried the first Sprite Remix. Just don't mess with my Code Red---still my favorite.
I tried the Simspsons cola. I tried the "Lemonade" flavour which tastes a lot like Mountain Dew. I don't know why I bought it. Probably because I'll buy anything with the Simpsons on it. I was dissapointed that they didn't call it "Buzz Cola" though.

Everything I say is a lie. Except that. And that. And that. And that. And that....And that.
All the overwieght ladies I work with are drinking the Diet Coke with Lime. I had a taste, and could barely swallow it, but, I hate colas anyhow. (except RC cola!)
I'm disappointed that no one has yet mentioned Squirt. That has to be the Rodney Dangerfield of soft drinks--it gets no respect, no notoriety...you name it, it doesn't get it. Anyway, I find most of the stuff mentioned in this thread to be a bit off the normal path of what I drink, as I generally stick to Coke and Squirt.

Wait. Livewire actually went away? I remember seeing the packaging last summer that is was for a limited time, but I have seen it being freshly stocked all last fall and winter. I thought that it had sold well enough that they decided to keep it on full time. Weird.
Diet Coke with Lime is decent. Much better than the Diet Coke with Lemon. I was really into it at first, but my interest has kinda died down as of late. I gotta say, I've been crazy addicted to both Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi, and Diet Cherry Coke as of late (I just pick up whichever is on sale). they are probably the best tasting, least diety diet drinks out there. Diet Code Red is also very good, but I'll just pick it up for a change of pace now and then. And there is always the ol' standby for diet drinks, Diet Dr. Pepper.
One thing I have noticed, now that there are lots of great options for diet sodas I can not go back to plain diet colas. I really wish restaurants and fast food places had some sort of diet besides just Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi. I need some sort of extra flavor in there!

Sprite ReMix's flavor this year is Berrylicious. They're stopping production on Tropical (aka the Gummi Bear Soda), and their plan is to make a new ReMix every year.
There's a real trend towards seasonal and yearly soda products instead of the old thinking of brand loyalty.

I really think this is the (not-so) new idea of big time, old school companies aiming most of their marketing dollars at kids.
I have a 7-year-old...and anytime there is a new drink, no matter how awful it tastes, he wants to have it. Until the next new drink comes around.
Putting the money issue to the side, ESPN's ads make them look like jerks. "Without ESPN who needs Cox Cable?" So they think the only reason people have cable TV is for ESPN?
