Because as we've seen on this board, EVERYONE on the internet is of the same opinion.

Well. I dunno about all that now. Angle, Lesnar, Benjamin, etc., have a huge head-start on most "prospects" via being amazing natural athletes, and not Mark Jindrak natural athletes that are, like, good at basketball.

I think the biggest problem Dupree is going to run into is having the thick accent, because they're going to end up continually giving him comedy lines because the douchebag writers won't be able to help themselves. I mean, it IS funny. Dere is no poop on de floor!

But he DOES have a dog, which I completely and stupidly ignored.

Robes add at LEAST five points to your Charisma stat, and can easily be enchanted with workrate-enhancing spells.

The dog, combined with the French Tickler, makes him look kinda fruity. Which is good, because it sort of gives him... er... a Norman Smiley kind of vibe? Maybe?

Eh, I got nothin'.

Wait, wait, the same internet that was loving RNN and his percentage updates on the elbow? You guys seriously need to make up your minds.

There's a difference between RNN (where Randy popped on screen, gave a quick update, and was gone) and Evolution Randy (where the WWE is force-feeding him to the fans giving him a lot of mic time & longer matches, feeding him Mick Foley, and calling him "legend killer").

At least when they were force-feeding us Brock, he looked like he could rip out your arms & beat you over the head with them. Evolution Randy is just so...bland.

I believe we were both making generalizations based on the majority, and assuming people would GET that without it being explained.

Yes, but only after going so far as to strongly imply that's exactly what we were doing, by calling it "an amazing coincidence," thus negating your disclaimer. Unless, you were being really sincere with that comment, in which case, I apologize.

Did anyone wonder how Randy Orton had the nerve to talk about has-beens with Ric Flair standing beside him. Granted this happened on Raw a couple of weeks ago but I thought I would mention it.

I actually was being sincere and realized how it sounded but couldn't think of a better way to put it. But it's all super.

What he said. Its not so much a case of not being able to make up our minds, more so being hugely let down and disappointed at him not living up to what was seen as "potential" through those first promos. Or perhaps we were just tricked.

A valid comparison to Randy Orton could be made in Sean O'Haire. His pre-taped vignettes were entertaining, yet live he does not have the same ability. The difference is that O'Haire was relegated to Velocity and OVW because of the fiasco that was Piper and Hogan, while Orton is continually shoved down our throats because a 3rd generation star worked once for Vince, thus that formula must be repeated because everything is static and what worked in the late 90's must work in the early-mid 00's.

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.

Man, did this workrate report get hijacked! We start with Dean have a couple of PBR longnecks watching Smackdown! and we get to Randy Orton? He's not even on this show!

"The difference is that O'Haire was relegated to Velocity and OVW because of the fiasco that was Piper and Hogan, while Orton is continually shoved down our throats"

I would say another important difference is Orton being at least 5000 times the worker and 100 times the talker that Sean O'Haire is (and Orton doesn't blow me away or anything).

"Well, to tell you the truth, it took me a while to be convinced about Brock."

I think everyone should've been sold after his Hell in a Cell with Undertaker. (If you're a really optimistic guy, maybe you were convinced after his very good match with Rock at SummerSlam.) Prior to SummerSlam he had shown nothing as a top level worker, so you were like a HIAC with Undertaker? How bad is that going to be? But then wait it was awesome? And then later you were like oh shit, Brock is having good matches with Big Show? Brock Lesnar, what a great wrestler.

{Also, compare Dupree a year in (nowadays) to Cena a year in (last July) and tell me who was further along.}

Well, there's also Orton being a lot better than O'Haire. (Hey! This has been covered!) I know, but what I really wanted to say was that O'Haire's stupid vignettes had absolutely nothing to do with wrestling, and it should've come as no surprise that they didn't work as well live, during the wrestling show, while talking to wrestlers or wrestling fans, and nobody cared about him. He's also super shitty in the ring. Even Orton can stumble his way through a 20-minute match with Shawn Michaels.

I didn't say O'Haire was good, I'm saying the only time he was entertaining was on the pre-taped segments. And the only time Randy Orton has been entertaining has been on the pre-taped segments. When he has Foley, Flair, Trip and Michaels trying to make people care and people generally still don't, perhaps that's a sign that Randy isn't very entertaining.

I've thought he's done a pretty good job and he's pretty over. I'm not saying he's anything special, or even more than a pretty generic heel, but he certainly hasn't been a failure thus far, I don't think. Of course, this is all because he's HAD Foley, Flair, HHH and Michaels around him to make him look good, the one feud he had away from Michaels or Foley so far was poorly-done and just served to get the IC title from RVD to him, which hasn't been followed up on at all anyway.

So, yeah, I see your point.
