Think about all the big names they could have in the Royal Rumble this year. Stone Cold, Jericho, HHH, The Rock, Undertaker, RVD, Nash (maybe), Benoit (if he's back), Booker T, Storm, Edge, Regal, Venis, D-Lo, Christian, Test, DDP, Kane, Angle, Big Show, Tajiri, Palumbo, Billy, Bubba, D-Von, Hurricane, X-Pac, Crash, Bossman, Taz.

That's a much better list than years past in my opinion and it's a little less unpredictable because Stone Cold, Jericho, HHH, The Rock, Booker T, Nash, and RVD probably all have legitimate shots at winning. I almost wish the winner didn't get a title shot so that the winner could really be a suprise like Storm or Hurricane.

But my question is who do you think will win? Will one of the top guys i mentioned win it, or will they try and swerve us by someone else winning, and then they lose their shot before WM?

Also who do you think will be the last five in the match?

And who do you think will last the longest?

And who will eliminate the most people.

I say Stone Cold wins, the other final four I think will be HHH, Booker T, Storm and RVD.

I think RVD will last the longest.

If Nash does debut here I think he eliminates the most people, if he doesn't I think Test does.

How about this...

Triple H comes out second to last. Crowd, in anticipation since the beginning of the match, goes wild. Triple H dumps five guys before the last wrestler comes out.

Then comes Nash. Roof blows off. Nash pulls upset in some cheesy fashion, setting up feud to get through PPV between Rumble and Wrestlemania.

Well, I'll bite, even before HHH returns tonight, and say he's gonna win. I think that Nash will make his return in the Rumble match itself, probably late. Rock and Jericho already have a match, so they won't be in it. Since the Undertaker's injured, I think that RVD will be given the room to shine, so he'll knock out the most people. Final four will be HHH, Booker, Angle, and Austin. But then, what do I know...

I going with a long shot and the rumored RVD win. Sure, its a rumor, but you got to elevuate this guy at some point and it worked for Austin. HHH should be the odds on favorite if he is in it. I suspect Nash will come back before Rumble, please God not tonight, let HHH have this night. He may fued with Nash or could make it a three way at the Rumble with Jericho and Rock. I am just waiting for Jericho to say something about taking HHH out longer than expected with the Walls of Jericho on the table. It should rule.

I don't see Austin in the Rumble, because he'll be in a match with Booker T hopefully. Give Book the win or something to boost him and then job him on Raw. Booker is a decent wrestler, but he needs a breakout performance soon.

Please God don't let it be SCSA. He has won the RR 3 times in the last 4 or 5 years. Plus a Austin/Booker match could be really good if Booker actually can get some offense in.

It'll be either Austin or H, or mayyyyybe Angle in a long, long shot. No way are they going to have RVD or Booker or anyone else main event WrestleMania, what with all the backstage politicking (do you think H is going to come back and give up his WM main event, or that Rock or Austin will be left out?) plus the fact that neither RVD nor Booker have been at a WM yet.

I bet WM will end up being Austin vs Rock vs Triple H.

I'm going to have to say HHH will win the rumble, to my dislike.

Who do you think will be the last five in the match? RVD, HHH, SCSA, Nash

Who do you think will last the longest? Long shot...Lance Storm. It just feel right. Either him or Christian using the Roaddog hanging on the bottom rope for your life maneuver.

Who will eliminate the most people? RVD or Nash

I'm going for the Nash debut here and say that some how he either helps HHH win the Rumble (start of a stable of some ind.) or costs him the win (Jealously and feud) How wishy washy is that?

I'll also throw my hat into the "please don't let Austin win" circle. Though I've loving the rejuvinated Austin, I think he's won the rumble one to many times in the last few years. Maybe it can comes down to Austin/HHH and Nash assists on the elimination, leading into a Nash/Austin feud? It would be different and Austin might be able to carry him to a fun brawl. Or we could put Angle in the same spot and have Angle/Nash. Now there's a challange for Angle.

The obvious thing seems to be Austin/HHH being amongst the final 3..
In the event of those two eliminating all before #30 enters you can bet #30 will be Nash..
Then either HHH or Austin will get screwed by Nash I think.
Leading to a short feud with him until they somehow get their shot at WM and we could have a 3-way here..
Austin vs Trip vs ??(I wish Jericho, I fear Rock)

However, all three of these seem to be faces at the moment.
Now the match between Austin & Rock at Wmx7 worked because it was in Austin's hometown (which gave him the face advantage during the match) and then Austin's heel turn..
But will 3 faces in one match work?
Right now in my opinion things are very interesting in the WWF..who stands where? who does what? what is going to happen?

I've said this before and I'm saying it again.

HHH will win the Rumble, Jericho will retain (or lose to Rock but win it back at NWO). It will be Jericho vs. HHH at WM XVIII, and me in my 8th row seat will be amrking out like a little school girl.

I would love to see that happen..
(I will be there too, dont know which row yet)

I wonder what all the nay-sayers will say then..
Will it be a great choice by the WWF to have Jericho remain on top until WMx8 OR will they bitch that Jericho had to job his belt(s) to HHH..

Still I believe this is just one of the million options that can happen right now.
I was talking to a friend last night and we made a list of at least 10 different angles HHH could have done as a return. And what happened at Raw wasn't actually one of them..The same can be said for all the top guys right now. So many options, so many different ideas (yet probably alot will stay the same at the end..)

Austin will eliminate the most people, in accordance with his what-tastic interview on RAW last night when he promised 23 sumbitches tossed over the top rope.

Austin will also probably have to last the longest; since the number of people at one time in a Rumble is usually no more than 8, let's say Austin comes in and eliminates those 7 sumbitches. He'll still have to go through 15 more guys, which means at least another half-hour in the ring.

The final five in the ring will be Vince, Stephanie, Shane, Linda and Sho Funaki. My prediction? All four McMahons team up to eliminate Funaki, and then each talk on the mic for 20 minutes each convincing the others that they can trust them. The fans riot, storming the ring and killing them all. Shane's corpse is the last to be tossed from the ring, so he technically wins. But wait! It is revealed on RAW the next night that Stephanie's corpse was only thrown THROUGH the ropes, not over. Controversy = ratings!

I'll modify an earlier prediction:

Triple H is the second-to-last competitor and is alone in the ring after eliminating nearly everyone. Out comes Nash as entrant #30...crowd goes bananas...big stare-down...

AND THEN...

Nash hits Triple H with the Finger of Death and Triple H allows Nash to throw him over the top. The Clique is reborn.

Now in the real world, I predict this...

Rock beats Jericho for the championship, and of course, Austin wins the Rumble. The writers are monkeys, remember, and this is WHAT THE FANS WANT, BY GAWD.

But I sincerely hope its Triple H and Jericho at Wrestlemania because they'll probably let the Canadian win. Of course, that could be the returning Benoit, which would be cool.

I'm confused!

You know what? I would love to see HHH/Jericho as the main event for Wrestlemania. And you know why? Because if they want a big Austin/Rock match, they can still have it. They don't need a belt anymore, if they just fight, and have 30 minutes to work with, they make some crazy crods.

But, the big problem is the confidence factor. It is true that HHH is the first heel to walk in and walk out of Wrestlemania WWF Champion. Would they have the GUTS to put Jericho over clean? Would they be able to have Jericho over enough as a heel to be believeable in winning clean? Because dammit, I don't want another dirty finish at Wrestlemania.

Also, another issue that no one ever seems to care for: Why is the Championship untouchable between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania? It's really not, but it always seems to be, doesn't it? I mean, honestly now, couldn't we just have the winner of the Rumble win the belt at No Way Out and have us have to FIGURE OUT who will be in the main event for Wrestlemania? Wouldn't that be NEW? DIFFERENT? ...

[sigh]

No, we don't have confidence in our own performers, says the WWF. We'll go with the given Rock/Austin main event re-match at Wrestlemania and everyone will go home happy.

...

[sigh]

Well, *I* won't go home happy, dammit, LOL

With all of the momentum HHH has got coming off of last night, I can't see him not winning the rumble. It seems as if they planted the seeds for it to be HHH v. Jericho on Smackdown last week, but then again they planted the seeds for the Canadian 4 Horsemen last week and where did that go this week? It's hard to say, but I'm hoping that Jericho clings to the title and is put over CLEAN by Rock at the rumble and H goes on to win it from him at WM. And I have to agree with Phoenix, if they want to do the Rock/Austin rematch, the belt would really be superfluous. Just let them go out and do their thing.

The real question is...besides Nash, who else will the surprise entrants be this year?

They gotta bring these back!!!:
"talk to the hand because the man don't understand." - "The Crippler" Chris Benoit
"...and that is the LAST WORD." - "The Big Nasty" Paul Wight
and of course: "Don't hate the playa...HATE THE GAME~!" - WCW World Champion Booker T

Though I think the Royal Rumble "Iron Men" this year will be RVD and/or Angle.

Except, I think, for the first post, the Undertaker has been mostly ignored thus far as a Rumble factor. I doubt he'll win it, but he's in there to eliminate or be eliminated by someone to set up what he's going to do for Wrestlemania. Maybe he'll be the one to cross paths with Nash for one of those "two big guys tumble over the top to eliminate themselves" spots?

I think RVD will find creative ways to narrowly avoid elimination for a bit. I'd be surprised to see Angle win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him eliminate HHH. Clearly, they're heading for a PPV match at No Way Out or Wrestlemania, right? And assuming we get a Steph turn to Angle's side, they could definitely go straight through to Wrestlemania and use that to finally close the door on the HHH/Angle/Steph angle.

That leaves Austin for the big names. Would they have him win again? It seems like it's his event to lose most of the time, and if the title doesn't change hands at No Way Out, it's not that hard to see them going with Austin vs. Rock or Jericho, if they decide to throw in and run with Jericho as the ultimate weasel champ.

It's not actually, there is usually a Championship Match at NWO (See last year where Angle lost to the Rock), and most of the time there's also a #1 Contenders matchs where the winner of the rumble faces someone who wants the shot.

In the past we've had: Owen Hart vs. Shawn Micheals, Austin vs. McMahon & Rock vs. The Big Show

In all honesty I completely forgot that the Rock won the Title at No Way Out. Is a title win that forgettable anymore? :-(

[yeah, yeah, it's not that forgetable, it's my memory that sucks]
