Remember a big-time player always turns at WM. Usually its a main-eventer. Here are my favorites.

1. Stephanie McMahon turns face
2. the Rock turns heel
3. Jericho turns face
4. HHH turns heel/rejoins Steph

"Steph Turns Face" - Impossible. That's like turning Taker heel. Nobody bought it and he still gets some of the biggest pops no matter WHAT he does.

"Jericho Turns Face" - Also impossible. That would take the focus off of Steph.

"HHH Turns Heel - Rejoins Steph" - Again, that would take the focus off of Steph.

(Okay, I'm cynical. What about it.)

"Rock Turns Heel" - THERE'S a possibility. Imagine Hogan getting killed by the Rock like Foley did in the infamous "I Quit match" as profiled on "Beyond the Mat". Rock just keeps going on a helpless Hogan while the announcers start getting quieter and quieter and start talking about how this is going too far.

The fan base is there on both sides, so you could end up with the very vocal built-in Hogan fan base going nuts on The Rock, and the Rock fan base being bewildered. That could be VERY effective. Then we can have the "enraged Rock" for the next few months going off on EVERYBODY.

I know what you're thinking..."But what would they do with the NWO then?" Probably the same thing they did with Kat. NOTHING.

Heck with it. They'd never do that when it might alienate potential movie-goers...

Nobody. I don't think anyone will turn. It doesn't even really make any sense for anybody to. Especially this close to the split (where they should at least start with well defined lines between heel and face).

But if somebody has to, I'll say the Hardy Boyz. Because...Well...Why not.

It really doesn't matter if no-one buys it. No-one bought the Austin turn a year ago - but they tried it anyway. In fact, they came right out and gave no explanation for it.

I'm thinking (hoping?) they will take Stephanie off of TV after WM. But she's the boss's daughter. There is no way Vince let's her girl move off-camera without a nice face turn first - even if they think no-one buys it. She turns at the PPV, then is gone.

"Jericho Turns Face" - Also impossible. That would take the focus off of Steph.

My reasoning there is if Jericho does not retain and they need to give him a new program it might require a turn.

"HHH Turns Heel - Rejoins Steph" - Again, that would take the focus off of Steph.

I'm not sure if it would take the focus off of her.

How about this?

HHH and Y2J do a double turn with Hunter reuniting with Steph. HHH wins the title but Rock comes out. Stephanie declares HHH the greatest WWF champion ever and calls out The Rock. Rock and Jericho do the WM9 Hogan/Bret bit and Rock goes on to beat HHH for the WWF Title.

However, Rock still has Hogan, so the "dream match" is now a title match. Rock is about to win when the NWO run in with Steph and costs Rock the Title. Stpehanie says she was just using HHH and Jericho to get the title to the NWO. So the show ends with Y2J turning face and HHH turning heel then face again (thanks to Steph).

That's just my mind wandering. I pary to God that this doesn't happen though.

Rock turns heel

That is obviously what the Toronto crowd wanted. In the end, we got Hogan to turn "face" (we'll see) and be discarded from the nWo.

So who should join the nWo now. The Undertaker. From a storyline (I know WWF writers wonder what those are) standpoint, it make sense. I mean who has been siding with Vince for the past months even while Vince has been talking about the nWo "poison". The Undertaker. We'll see.

Must be a high possibility of HHH and Steph turning NWO after the Hogan crap. Fair enough if they wanted to do that, but why do the vehicular homicide then make Rock and Hogan all buddy-buddy at the end. Short-sighted madness.

Shame, they couldn't fit Arafat v Sharon onto the card, that could've ended in big hugs also.

The WWF flat out missed a chance with the Rock tonight. After clearing house of the nWo, Rock should've Rock Bottomed Hogan and joined the nWo WITHOUT QUESTION.

I was expecting that HHH was going to join the NWO after they come out to help him, and it be revealed that the divorce with Steph was just a scam to make Jericho look like a fool.

Actually, I suggested out loud "How funny would it be if Nash and Hall got their walking papers tomorrow" and everybody in the room got REALLY excited at that thought.

Boy, I fully expected Hogan fans to be vocal enough to have the crowd appear 50-50 split for this match, but could anybody have guessed how decisively FOR Hogan the crowd would be? And how vocal they would be about it?

That was just mind boggling, and yet really cool, all at the same time. The WWF blew it though. Imagine how nuts that crowd would have gone if they had "Real American" cued up to play when Hogan posed at the end.

Damn I thought it was a double turn even when both Hogan and Rock walked up the ramp together. Points to consider:

1. Rock just abused Coach excessively - very heelish.
2. Hogan asked Hall & Nash that he fight Rock solo - very faceish.
3. Rock gave a lot of heel mannerisms thru the match - very heelish.

I thought when Hall & Nash came out, Rock would assist them. Nope. Then when Hogan offered his hand to the Rock, I thought the Rock would rock bottom him again. Then when Hogan accepted the invite to pose for the crowd and had his back turned, I thought Rock would backstab him and the nWo would run out to assist.

Dammit, the Rock needed that heel turn. He's boring and the fans boo him. Now HHH, Rock, Austin, and Hogan are all faces. VS Jericho and Angle? Hall & Nash are jokes at this point. This makes no sense. Taker joining the nWo probably doesn't help things. Rock as #1 heel vs a face HHH would be good TV for quite a bit since both would be fresh looks at those characters. Instead Rock now gets slotted below Hogan in the face rankings. Heck Rock looked like Hogan's man servant in the end, needing Hogan's approval for fan support. Hopefully Rock grows jealous of that and turns heel (maybe joining the nWo) fairly soon. Otherwise he looks like a wuss.

And sure it was a fun turn, but in reality Hogan sucks as a face because he's been 100x more exposed as a face than a heel. A face Hogan offers the wrestling fan nothing new.

Rock is not boring. Not by a damn long shot. Did you see the promo before the match? Did you see the Rock's facial experessions sell the entire match? Did you see Rock get the face pop when he did the People's Elbow and get the pin?

A Fan- Obviously not.

Plus last night was one of the first times since his face turn that I've heard fans actually straight out booing Rock. It wasn't like this was something that's been happening for a while. I think it had more to do with his opponent than anything else.

The thing is I've never seen a heel Rock. I was watching WCW. By the time WCW started driving people away, Rock had turned face. He's been face for, what, 3 or 4 years now? Bleh. I bet you he won't make it to X9 without a heel turn. So why not do it at X8? Anywhere else will probably look lame by comparison.

I think the WWF will keep a Rock turn off until "Scorpion King" opens, but not too much longer.

The Rock's (plus a lot of others') turns, both face and heel, have always come a few weeks or so after the crowd turns on him, the only exception being his S.S. turn where he won the belt.

However, the WWF needs to get out of Canada before they can really judge where the Rock stands in terms of crowd support, and the Canadian fans tend to have some out-of-the-mainstream crowd reactions.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they winged the Hogan turn tonight, and turn him back (or try to) on RAW and get the storyline back on track.

The thing is I've never seen a heel Rock.

You're missing out. A heel Rock is honestly the #1 reason why I became a wrestling fan again.

I wouldn't be too quick to discard the possibility of The Rock turning heel. Granted, I agree that if he were to do it, the time to do it would have been at WrestleMania. But the face turn by Hogan last night leaves open the (likely?) possibility of Hogan and The Rock teaming against The Outsiders. And there's still plenty of room to turn The Rock heel in that match, especially considering his heel mannerisms-- and the reactions of the crowd-- last night.

Back when The Rock was a heel last, I too was watching WCW. But I've seen tapes of WrestleManias XIV and XV, so I recognized the “evil Rock” expressions immediately, and was frankly stunned. I'll be surprised if some top face doesn't turn heel soon. I mean hell, as has been mentioned, we've got an overabundance of big-name faces in the company now. Hogan joins The Rock, Austin, Triple H, Ric Flair and to a lesser extent Rob Van Dam. The major heels are Jericho, Angle, Hallnnash, and The Undertaker. The balance, to me anyway, is clearly in favor of the faces-- so I'd look for it to be balanced out before long.

As it is. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hogan and The Rock vs. The Outsiders tonight as the main-event of RAW. Although Hogan was holding his chest after the match last night, and I couldn't tell if he was selling or if he was really hurt. I'm not used to him selling all that well to be honest, but last night's match smacked of “passing the torch”, so it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Face Rock, Heel Rock, it doesn't matter...between his promos and the way he responds to the crowd in the ring, I can't think of anyone who has a better sense of timing in wrestling. He is really the epitome of "sports entertainment."

"A heel Rock is honestly the #1 reason why I became a wrestling fan again."

Me too. The Rock was an amazing heel back in 98. If the WWF turned Rock last night, the crowd would have been 100% against him. And that would have lasted for about two or three weeks max. Heel Rock got pops in the Corporation standing next to Vince McMahon. Heel Rock got cheered against Austin when Austin was over huge. I'm not saying the heel turn would be a failure, or that i don't want to see it. I just don't think the WWF fans are going to boo him for very long. He is just too good at playing the heel.

If they are going to turn him, doing it on RAW would have the most impact. They can turn him against Hogan, that would make sense in a storyline sense, but they can't have him join the nWo. Putting Rock in the nWo would sell a ton of tee shirts, but would make no sense since they helped try to kill him about a month ago.

One last thing. I think the Rock was just feeding off the crowd with his heel mannerisms last night. He did it to a lesser extent when he was being booed at X-7. I don't think it has too much meaning in the long run. His facial expression when Hogan kicked out of the Rock Bottom at one was priceless. So was the look on his face when his punches weren't having any effect. He was like, "Screw this, I'm spitting on my hand. That'll show him."

Ouch.
